  4. I think I have what you need. May me an offer (plus shipping from Montana) Bruce
  5. Thanks for the welcomes. Interesting information regarding the lux package Steve. Particularly: "the Lux interior is quite different from the standard 2002 interior--and was not sold on US spec cars." The VIN shows the car as a USA import, so like you suggested "Someone transplanted a LUX package interior" maybe right. But the European headlights....was this car not "for USA market" ? Is there somewhere to get more details information regarding VINs i.e. options, original destination, etc? At any rate, looks like the LUX must be embraced and bought back to life.
  6. Hi All, I’ve been prowling around for a couple of months and thought I would poke my head in the door and say Hi. I’m fresh over from the LBC world. My son and I have embarked into the classic car world together. The tough decision of which car to bring back to life was made easy when we zeroed in the 2002. The 2002 is an excellent candidate for the venture; a perfect merger between classic and performance. We found decent (at least for up here) example of a 75 2002. A small sigh of relief could be heard from it’s rusty muffler as we dragged the car literally out of a junk yard. It has rust in the normal locations but fairly unmolested and most parts seem to be present. The car has been stripped down to the shell and the De-rust process has begun. We’ve also purchased another 75, but extreme rust rendered this example to a parts bin. A few differences I found interesting between the 2 cars: Gear shift lever: one car has chrome the other has Black (factory?/painted ?/option? ). Headlights: one has sealed beam style the other has European style (North American option?) Antenna: the attachment method and actual antenna is different between cars one has a red knob one has a black knob. The usable car has a “Lux” (I believe that’s the term) interior, wood on door tops, fold down arm rest on the rear seat, wooden shift knob, & working TII clock, yay! But no elongated “L” on the trunk lid…hmmm. We were lucky enough to find 1981 320IS complete with 5sp & LSD, although the seats are an abortion of 320I Recaro frames and ugly over stuffed cushions which come from where? $2000 cdn ( $28.50 usd?) for all 3 cars seems to be a fair start and hopefully we’ll get another 2002 back on the road. Anyway …. I’m amazed at the perpetual information on this site, and friendliness of fellow 02ers. Hopefully I can add a few tidbits in the future. Cheers Bruce.
