  1. the car looks very rusty to me… it’s been my experience if the roof is rusty the whole car is rusty those bubbles on the truck lid shows deep rust… I would keep looking!
  2. Well two days with a wonderful young helper and we are down to windshield, wiring and dash to remove. Most of the repair panels were included with the sale and appear to be twenty years old, finishing up my first W&N order. Can see what’s rusty now and really despite the fact that it’s all four floorboards/two rear wheel arches/half of both side rails covers it not that bad and all repairable… Glass bead blasting set up for December 18, onward through the fog.

  4. Steve, I’m cheering for you but it’s hard to tell from the pictures What’s the best thing for you to do, but what I can tell from the pictures is the front edge of your dash appears to be thicker than a stock dash…
  5. Before pulling the engine I decided to check the location of Tii air filter brackets that the past owner had welded on they did not look quite right, glad I did one was an inch off…

  7. Steve, your dash has extra thickness where it’s been recovered at the leading edge where it meets glass…probably better to install glass first.

  9. I already have my tickets and I’m feeling lucky, it would be interesting to know what the value of the car is for tax due after winning purposes… where ever the car is located I’m flying there and driving it back home.

  11. Back to working on the Baur today…Cleaned and reinstalled the plugs, Hooked up a temporary battery and fuel pump…and it started like a champ. IMG_7913.mov Coupe ran great had incredible weekend.
  12. another good day working on the Baur… blew out the fuel lines/removed the plugs/put a little oil in the cylinders/checked the compression. Very happy with the compression 182/190/190/196… No work for a couple days I’m off to the Texas Hill Country in the E9 coupe with the Tejas BMW club, Monday I plan on hooking up a temporary fuel pump and trying to start it…
  13. My first real day of work on the Baur, put it up on jack stands…I removed and cleaned the interior of fuel tank not near as bad as I would have thought looks like it was replaced in the recent past…I’m going to blow out fuel lines and check compression next…

We had the most wonderful weekend attending Terry Sathyer’s 2002 gathering in Kerrville, Texas my two sons attended with their cars / wives as well as my daughters son Breyden, who drove my baur… My son Kane and his wife Kate in his car / my original car My son Ellis and his wife Kelsey in his car.. My grandson Breyden
  16. How it happens is you start with a 20k car, you add 25k in paint/trim out and 800 man hours at 75 =60k …for a total of 105k and no profit to be made…

Today I took these two out for a 30 mile drive to make sure they are ready for Terry & Debbie Sayther’s 02berfest in Kerrville, Texas next weekend…Don Derham is driving the Inka Tii (will be his first time looking over a shiny Inka hood in a while)and my grandson Breyden Clark is driving the Baur…
