Thanks for the offer. I have a complete radiator in bad condition that I could bring to a shop to recore. But Im looking for a cheaper alternative for now. Something I could use temporarily while i get the car running again.

Looking for a good condition radiator for my 1968 1602. Doesn't have to be mint, as long as its not leaking. Prefer someone local so I dont have to spend $ on shipping. Im in Queens, NY. I know its a long shot, but figured Id try before looking for something shipped.

nice! how long can you leave the metal bare before flash rust becomes an issue? Did you prime it right away? -

That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Hopefully it will be ok and not in need of a sealer. But the POR15 will be there just in case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im about to tackle this job also. Thanks for the update! and the heat gun invention! I'll be using the same method to dry. I ordered the POR15 kit to seal it. Im hoping to do it this weekend.

No Sal from Fingers. From the link you posted. I think I’m going to try to clean it out myself. I’ve seen a couple of write ups where they used vinegar or Evaporust to clear the rust. Then use redkote to seal it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im looking to clean up some rust from my tank as well. how long did you let the vinegar sit in the tank? did you seal it afterwards?

I just called Sal. He quoted me $295. Seal and paint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys. Took out my gas tank today. Car hasn't run in about 20 years. There was some very old gas left in there and when i drained in it was brown and smelled terrible. Im worried the inside of the tank may be rusty. I was going to attempt to clean it up and seal it myself, but the gas that came out has me a bit concerned. Its probably better to have it done professionally. Im in Long Island City, Queens and was wondering if anyone can recommend a shop here in Queens. Or close by. Ive attached a pic of the gas that came out.

Shop recommendations in the NJ/NYC area?

was hoping you'd get some recommendations. Im in the process of rebuilding a 1968 1600 and was looking for an 02 specialist in the area.
