  1. Hey guys! I’m giving away 4 13inch ties and wheels in reasonably good condition. I upgraded and would like to see them go to an 2002 enthusiast. I’m located in the echo park neighborhood of LA. You’ll have to come pick them up Sorry they were scooped up!
  2. HI everyone! Well the time has come I am willing to take the plunge and install airconditioning. Driving through LA summers have been miserable for years! I don't care if the system looks vintage really, I just really want it to actually work. Does anyone have any advice? I was turned onto a guy named Bob at ICE in San Diego but I want to shop around. I'm willing to drive out of state to get a deal too. My sanity is worth it. And here we she are after being fully refurbished at Los Panchos in January! (Though I've already posted this photo) Thank you everyone! I adore this community. Best, Fiona Fiona
  3. HI everyone! Can anyone give a good rec to get my seats restuffed and a small tear reupholstered in socal? I'm on the east side of los Angeles. It's like sitting in sunken mud at the moment. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, does anyone know what is reasonable? Also thoughts on avoiding foam? thanks everyone!!
  4. Are OEM and URO brand names? Does Ramiro speak enough English where I can properly communicate to only use the new seals if they are needed? If they are kept safe in the trunk I'll be able to return for a full refund. So many questions, thank you for your time John.
  5. Thanks a million. I am taking the plunge. Did you replace all the seals on the windows and doors and door handles? This is the list I was going to bring down (my car hasn't had anything aesthetic done since the early 90's- and she leaks through the sunroof). Is there anything else you would recommend? Do you think I need rocker seals if I live in LA? Thank you so much!
  6. HI! Did you use Los Panchos or Los Panchos Taller? Might you have a contact and name to pass along? Thanks so much!
  7. Hi everyone! I am the woman of many posts this week. My next question: can anyone recommend a place in southern California or Tijuana that would rechrome and straighten my euro bumpers? They are a bit of a mess. This community has been so helpful!! I can't thank you all enough. Fiona
  8. Hi everyone! I am looking to get my girl painted back to her original Patallblau. There are about a dozen small screw holes from when the bumpers were replaced and one big hole in the front. Do you think I could get a reasonable paint job for 5k? Can anyone recommend a good place in Southern California? Thanks everyone!!!
  9. Hello- Does anyone know what the original colors were for a 1976 BMW 2002? My girl is a light blue but it's time for a paint job. I want to keep it an original color but considering changing from blue. Does anyone know the options or can recommend a good person for around 4k in the Los Angeles area? Thanks

  11. hey guys looking for a complete kit of chrome front and rear bumpers to fix up my 76' Polaris. I am also willing to go non-euro if the bumpers are from 71 or older. I'm in Los Angeles!
  12. HI guys! So my sweet 76 Polaris is still having trouble. A little history: I got her switched from an automatic to a 4 speed a month ago, and after the conversion she was running really rough- wouldn't go over 40 on the freeway and there was this constant pull-back jump/chug thing at higher speeds. A friend and I (the friend being a professional mechanic) swapped out the carburetor and reset the timing, she drove better (though the problem was still there) for a while, then yesterday, on the freeway, it felt like no more gas was getting to the engine and within minutes she lost power. I had her towed home. I plan on swapping out the points Sunday. Do you guys think that would solve the problem or is there anything else I should go ahead and do at the same time? I'm gathering parts tomorrow to have a friend help me get her running Sunday. So far I plan on picking up a feeler gage and new points. Any other ideas? A little more history if it helps: she was sitting outside for around 4 years (from 04-08 maybe) near Seattle Washington. I have been driving her off and on since then, but she has never run great. I thought the smog stuff still latched to the engine was the problem, but that has recently been removed and the problem, while better, still persists. Thanks for anything you can think of! 13. does anyone know if i can buy new points pre-gapped? Or do I have to gap them manually?
  14. Hello, I'm Fiona. I have just inherited a beautiful 76' 2002. My mom bought it in 92 and after she passed I found a 6 page letter asking me to never sell it-- and the deal is on. Plus I love my BMW, and I'm having fun slowly learning how to work on her myself. It's been surprisingly great! I just got her switched from an automatic to a 4 speed, and after the conversion she was running really rough- wouldn't go over 40 on the freeway and there was this constant pull-back jump/chug thing, like she wasn't get enough gas. A friend and I (the friend being a professional mechanic) swapped out the carburetor and reset the timing, and now it's BETTER but still she won't go over 50 and the jump thing is back. It's like she doesn't get enough gas to the engine, and when i start her in the morning she will constantly stall out till she is warmed up-- sometimes as long as 8 minutes turning her on again and again till she stays running. A little history: she was sitting outside for around 4 years (from 04-08 maybe) outside of Seattle Washington. I have been driving her off and on since then, but she has never run great. I thought it was the smog stuff still latched to the engine, but that has recently been removed and the problem is better, but still persists. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening? I'm in LA, and I'd LOVE to get her back on the road as my day-to-day before it gets too hot and the lack of ac kills me. Anyway thanks everyone!
