  1. Hi Steve, Thanks for your advice. The 2002 community is such a fantastic and helpful community like none I have experienced before. I just made the assumption that regardless of what transmission I'm switching to, I'd still need the pedal box, the shifter assembly and the lines from reservoir, etc. but perhaps there is more to it than that. I'd be sure to tap into the m2 build material as instructed. Thanks brother. Eamon
  2. Hi Steve, Thanks for the heads up. As you can probably guess, I'm a complete noob. My plan is to yank the current drivetrain completely out of my car and drop in a Euro S14 with associated close ratio dogleg gearbox in lieu of it. Any help or info on the matter is supremely appreciated.
  3. My car came with an autotragic. Need to convert it to manual. I need everything except the transmission since I'll be putting a dogleg in. Anyone has all the conversion parts they can sell me? I'm in Sacramento but can pick up stuff in the Bay Area or Los Angeles or pay for shipping. Thanks, Eamon
  4. Can you make a dogleg shift pattern please?
  5. Found this last night after missing out on a black 1970 in Riverside in fantastic shape with two engines that sold for 2K dollars within 2 hours of getting posted! I was kicking myself for my shitty luck when I came across this. Made payment on it today. Due to pick it up later this week. I'm super excited! Happy to be part of the club and thanks for all your help gentlemen!
  6. Digging the colorado orange car but 9K is a lot it seems. He might be willing to sell without the engine. How much you guys reckon I should offer for the car without the engine?
  7. Damn the red one sold to someone local. I really wanted it. I wonder if the new owner is on this site...
  8. Folks, I'm looking for a kind soul to check out a car I'm contemplating to buy in Denver, NC near Charlotte. I'll compensate you for your time and gas money and good heart. Please let me know if you can aid a hand so I can buy my first 02!!!! Thanks, Eaman
  9. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/5757930256.html This car looks nice. Anyone near Denver, North Carolina who could check it out for me and report on rust issues? I'll compensate you for your troubles naturally.
  10. I'm looking for an affordable rust free roundie to convert to an M2. My budget is about 6-7K but will listen to other offers as long as under 10K. Given the conversion, the state of the drivetrain or lack thereof is not a concern to me. The only thing that makes me run for the hills is RUST. Can't have rust. I have a genuine 1991 E30 M Technic II Cabrio in Sterling Silver for trade also if anyone's keen on that. It's got a hardtop, roof rack and wind deflector to sweeten the deal.
  11. Very interested. I'm in East Sacramento. PM inbound.
  12. Where are you moving to? I'm looking for something like this where I can just pull the M42 and tranny and drop my S14 and dogleg into it instead
  13. I contacted the seller today. Evidently the car belongs to his Nephew who now lives in Chicago. I asked him if the car had any rust problems, he replied, not any that he knew of. I asked for photos of the trunk only to reveal significant rust problem in the spare wheel well area. I asked if he is flexible on price. He said yes, I offered 3K, he said he rejected five offers at 4.5K already. I told him that was before you knew it had rust. I asked him what was the lowest he would take for it he said 6K. I told him he deserves an honorary degree in sales from Harvard and bid him farewell. Interested parties be aware.
  14. What color? Where? How much? I can make use of it
  15. A lot of unknown What color? I'm interested if it's rust free. Don't really care for how the engine or the tranny is doing since I'll be pulling the entire drivetrain in favor of an S14.
  16. I talked to the seller over the phone and text. He claims to have purchased the car from the Bay Area two years ago, hauled it to Los Angeles and then it sat in his garage except for the occasional drive around the neighborhood. I love the color combo on this car and I'm scheduled to see it in person over the weekend. I'll report back after I see it.
  17. Want to buy this but can't afford it right now...
  18. I have spoken to this guy. He owes about 1000 dollars in DMV registration fees on this car. The title is not in his name and he was coy when talking about rust areas on the chassis.
  19. Any chance somebody direct me to where this manual can be purchased? How much is it? Thanks, Eamon
  20. Marshal, What does a man have to do to get that manual off you? Jay, Interested in your shell if you can provide some pictures of it and discuss how complete or incomplete the rest of the package is.
  21. Today I went and checked out this guy: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/5261722191.html Looks pretty clean inside and out. Couple of things I noted is that the title is salvage and when you look under the hood, the passenger fender has a silver plaque with only VIN number stamped on it instead of the BMW plaque describing the color, the year built, etc. Is this typical? The vin stamped on the said fender matched the vin stamped on the dash. No where else could I find a VIN stamp. Is this typical of these cars? The interior looks great. The recaro seats are flawless. Dash has a couple of Grand Canyons carved out in it. The engine runs well mostly but then shakes every other second on the dot (is this normal or is it misfiring?) It has been resprayed Pastelblau but the owner mentioned that another interested buyer showed up in his 1974 Pastelblau 02 and the two colors were different. At the end of the day, he said he won't take less than 8.5K. Is that a fair value for it you think? I was thinking more in the 6.5K range.
