    When drag racing was the thing, all you needed was a mechanical advance curve because you only ran flat out That's one way to remember about a rich mixture. I recall the simple weight and spring kits sold for Delco distributors I used in small block Chevys. Put in the kit, bump the timing up a few degrees and you had a snappy car Now Dudeland when you get that turbo going you will have a different challenge, but that's another story

    Someone with more knowledge than me will reply but for now I vote for a vacuum advance distributor connected to the manifold under the throttle plates The theory here is the a lean mixture takes longer to burn than a rich mixture so you have to light the match sooner In other word at idle and cruise when you have a lean mixture and vacuum ,you want more advance . When you floor it and have no vacuum you can rely on mechanical advance alone This of course requires the right combination of mechanical and vacuum advance

    It may actually be possible with a lot of work to get the compressor on the intake side of the motor There are smarter people here than me who might have a solution. Maybe get the alternator lower and cram in a compressor Search for posts in the Turbo car section I think it has been discussed over there

    The typical location for an AC compressor is the same place the turbo will occupy with the Kangaroo manifold There would also be a conflict with a header style turbo manifold Just don’t see it happening

    My car is away at a shop or I would supply more photos. The Corsa branding and pinstriping were already removed from the wheels when they were acquired perhaps by a chemical paint remover that did not damage the base silver color

    I think I would just fill in the box with a N/A Then go from there depending on the response from the officials in Portugal

    I think I would do the swap of the suspension and brakes while looking for an engine. You may have to build or have someone built an engine You can easily get more HP at less expense from modified engine than what is available with a Tii motor

    Depending on the year , the diff may be a longneck. Since the parts for these are harder to find I would just bite the bullet and get a 2002 rear subframe with the. Shortneck diff and the gear ratio you want Of course it will take a different driveshaft or a modification

    I live in San Diego No offense to ICE AC, but when I inquired with them a few years ago they seemed very disinterested. Basically said go away and call us in maybe 6 months Maybe they were busy and didn’t want to take the time to be helpful I took their advise, I went away and did the job myself Hence I see this as a DYI job after you get over the parts list

    No I mean a parts list for a DYI person to use There is the Dtech guy in Texas who sells on ebay. I bought from him and it was an assembly of inexpensive Chinese stuff that did work with some additions I'm thinking a list like a bracket a compressor, a condensor,a receiver dryer an expansion valve hoses and fittings a fan speed switch maybe wiring and a relay Yes Robs book does a great job but a list as a reference would be helpful Maybe we should start a list ?

    Recently had to remove a full size plug from the rear of a b130 marine engine head lots if penetrating oil, heat , repeat repeat repeat Then It took a new socket a breaker bar and a 6 foot chain link fence post to get it out Oh it needed a crow bar and a block of wood against the firewall to keep the socket on the plug. Used blue silicone on the whole thing with a big nipple Hope it holds , cause I never want have to take that apart again

    The cars may have lost ground but the parts prices haven’t followed suit I astonished by the additional value of an installed dog leg close ratio 5 speed at $16,575. My guess would have been $ 7 to 10 K max There must be some anomaly in a low number of sales ? Pberen can you comment? Also thank you for tracking this info Very informative.

    Updating an old thread yes I completed the instal and it worked fine Sold the car. It eventually went to Florida which is appropriate
