  1. Thanks. Yes The California 76 came with the “Smokin Hot “thermal reactor exhaust manifold. These would glow red in an over rich condition
  2. So what is the rear end ? A stock 75 may have been a 3:91 open or a 3.64 open
  3. Nicely Done Is going to be thermostatically controlled ? I’m going to hang an oil cooler out front of the radiator and open the space you used for an inter cooler Super clean work on you part
  4. Take your time As you know I’m going a modern M10 FI turbo route the key is to get a real ECU like a Haltech. I’m still learning learning but let’s share intel as we go forward Go San Diego 2002s
  5. Mark I can't imagine you not putting the S14 in this car
  6. My recommendation would be to use Epoxy primer. I generally comes white but can be tinted Epoxy primer is more expensive but it is much harder than other primers
  7. Lucas Electric. The wiring system is designed to save the fuses
  8. Bump This is still available $400 shipped OBO
  9. I have a feeling we may be reaching the constructive end of this thread. Eh.
  10. Question about the air flow of a stock air filter ? Yes it does have the virtue of drawing cooler air from the front of the engine compartment but what about the air flow thru that little hole and hose ? Is it capable of the 400 CFM mentioned in a previous post ?
  11. I no longer have that car. I don’t believe It had a spacer and it never had a starting issue hot or cold. The air cleaner bolt was chopped off and it had a wing nut so a flat nut could reduce the height perhaps making room for the spacer A previous car with a manual pump did benefit from the use of spacer to insulate the carburetor fro the manifold
  12. Only because the common small rectangular air filters look like such a joke, I went another route for a 38/38 using an adapter used on 6 cylinder Jeeps for off road purposes that fit standard American four barrel air cleaners like Edelbrock etc. On the Jeeps where they have more headroom They use big K&N s to combat dust, but a small air cleaner will fit on a 2002 and looks more substantial. My guess is they flow quite well and filter air better given the increase in air filter volume
  13. re the 38/38 way too much carb for a stock motor You need to jet them down even for a 292 cam more so for a 284 cam Don't cam for a carb Consider the total build A good Motor recipe is 9.5 compression , 292 cam, 38/38, long tube header ,123 dizzy Balance port match etc might achieve 150 HP
  14. Re the radiator. I had the same situation and took off the mechanical fan and added a thermo switched electric fan worked fine
  15. My current project was going to be a rat rod, but it’s just not in my DNA. Mission Creep is real Ca Ching. Ca Ching Ca Ching
  16. Also a Gold Mine. A hole in the ground you throw money into As for cars. Yes you can make money only if you can acquire the car for a ridiculously inexpensive price
  17. 75 and 76 are the same. You might consider Greyhound for shipping bulky items
  18. My reading says the Isky 300 degree cam is A copy of the BMW Sport 300 cam but I can't verify that
  19. I have a 300 degree Isky cam that's used but looks to be in good condition $150 plus shipping PM me if your interested
  20. Better Answer: US 1969 2002 begins in September 1968 at VIN 1662859 These are first series cars Essentially 1968 cars No sidelights longneck diffs etc. January 1, 1969 Series Two cars begin at VIN 1664761 September 1969 , the last US 1969 2002 ends at VIN 1668755 A more through discussion is found under Atricles/History &Referance/ "The 02 Production Run" by Mike Self
  21. January 1, 1969 started 2nd series I believe. Your VIN looks like a later 1969 production date
  22. Second Series 1969 Looks pretty complete and unmolested
  23. Okay a price is reveled at $28,500 Thank you Sorry , never saw that stated. I retract all my comments about hiding the asking price My comments are only based on the fact that FAQ was originated for the benefit of 2002 enthusiasts helping each other repair and restore their cars , and not a marketing platform No need to delete this thread Just go forward Wishing you the best on the sale
  24. Oh please the endless hype on this has to end Just state your asking price rather than try to reel in some unsuspecting buyer Yes there has been some nice work done - at retail perhaps So yeah you have some money in it but the question is what will the market bear ? Time to stop playing around and wasting bandwidth here How about going to BAT and see what happens community
