  1. Welcome, I didn't want to leave you hanging and not get any responses from anybody. There are a number of guys around that can provide you guidance with your question, but you first need to learn what the Colorado smog requirements are before you start pulling emission parts off the car. Colorado Air Care/DMV keep changing the rules as applied to older cars and collector plates and to compound the problem the techs doing the inspections are somewhat lacking and don't always understand what they are looking at or for. If your car is already registered/plated and you will not need to have emissions run again, then I say go for it. Mark Hutto is probably one of the most knowledgeable guys in the Denver area when it comes to older model BMWs, Cal at Auto Sport Werks in Broomfield is another resource. They might be willing to provide some verbal guidance or do the work for you. Remember, this is just a simple internal combustion engine, almost anything you do to the car that does not give the anticipated results, can be reversed or repaired. If you want to follow up with me do not hesitate.
  2. Interested in the front if they are still available. thanks
  3. Hey Gary, Yes, great meeting and chatting with you and your daughter. Also I wanted to thank you for the beer, excellent selection. Please put the hood to good use, hopefully we can get together at some point as I would love to see your car. best regards, Dave
  4. Hi Christian and welcome to the 02 Denver area group. From my experience the group is somewhat quiet with an occasional get together. There is always a reasonably good showing of 02s at Cars and Coffee in Lafayette (96th & Arapahoe) the first Saturday of every month. Folks show up year round, even in the winter when the weather is clear, with a rather eclectic collection of cars. Truly a get event. I live in unincorporated Jefferson county just north-east of Golden and I can be available if you just want to get together and talk 02s, I would love to see yours, if we plan it I could try to get a couple to 02 owners together to congregate at my house or a local watering hole. Again, welcome. Dave
  5. Hi All, Yours for Beer, good beer, to a good home, okay even a bad home. I have a nose, exhaust resonator and muffler, passenger and driver's doors, and hood. All are usable with a little work, but have had rust repairs or existing rust. I wanted to use rust free panels so I ended up replacing these panels on my recent build. I cut out the center grille section to back date the late model nose I used to replace it. The nose has been patched on the lower section, a rather shitty job I must say. The resonator just has surface rust, the muffler is basically newer. The doors are straight, passenger door has been patched and the driver's door was patched but needs additional attention in the lower rear corner. Hood is straight but the leading edge has been repaired but not to my standards, again with some work very usable. These panels and exhaust will be available for two weeks from today, then they will go to scrap. I just hate to scrap something that someone would find useful, with some work. Please contact me at your convenience, you are welcome to come take all or part of the lot. thanks for looking, Dave Detra
  6. Hi, looking for a reasonably good, presentable passenger door belt line trim piece. Thanks in advance for any help. I am in the Denver area.
  7. Thanks Brendan, who have you gotten prices from and does the price include installation, seal, and filler strip? Dave
  8. Hi All, As the title says, I am looking for a front windshield in good nick. I am in the Denver area and can pick it up. Thanks for any help you can provide. Dave
  9. By chance do you have a dash with no cracks left. Thanks
  10. Really Eric, collecting parts for the new car. Absolutely you may have them, we can arrange pickup. Dave
  11. Hey Art, I see that you are unloading parts, not listed by I thought I would ask anyway, do you have a tii alternator mount? On another front, the front nose is back-dated, primed and ready for paint, it is a thing of beauty. I can't thank you enough for helping me out with the nose and hood. best Dave
  12. Hey Guys, Wanted to offer these up locally, I have a set of blue '73 stock seats free to somebody who can use them. The seats are mechanically in good nick, complete with headrests. The passenger seat bottom cushion and the driver's back cushion need attention, otherwise generally serviceable. As I said free for pickup, otherwise, I hate to say it but they will be headed to the dump. Also have a complete Behr AC system that was amazingly working when removed from a '73. Looking to get $100 for it. Lastly, I have a couple of E12 heads with valves. I would like to get $150 each for the heads. Here is hoping there is some interest out there. Thanks, Dave
