  1. Have you found a higher output alternator that fits the tii mount?
  2. Does anyone have just the hinge bracket for the drivers (left) side? Oddly that side is out of stock everywhere, but not the right side. When cleaning up the visors the plastic portion crumbled.
  3. @Teelinger thank you for the pictures. Yeah that all makes sense with the vent line and mounting plate. I wonder how well that filler plays with the pump handles we have here in California. I am going to have to look into this. Thanks again Paul
  4. I bought the eBay starter last year but installed it this Easter. Added six pounds of lightness compared to the original SR71X. It spins my tii engine at a higher more even RPM which seems to help the Kfish and ignition get combustion going. It is wired like the SR440x from the M3 and M30 models. That just means you won't have a spot for your resistor bypass wire if you have one. I moved that bypass wire to fuse 12 and disconnected the resistor wire at both ends. And yes the starter wire is in the 6:00 position. I don't think it has 1.7kw power of the Bosch but is has been much better for me. It came with a data test sheet I could upload if anyone is interested.
  5. Ok I think I found it. Looks like is called a small Cobra style fuel filler with 2" connection. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Small-Cobra-Style-Fuel-Filler-Neck-Gas-Cap,53671.html Do you have any pics of the vent or mount?
  6. Your missing grommet https://www.rogerstii.com/bmw-window-wiper-rubber-spindle-grommet/ I just did mine last month. I think I remember that the flat washers have a cupped side. That side goes against the grommet. Paul
  7. @Teelinger please please please describe your modified filler! Where did you get the cap/filler and what size is the hose? It looks great. Paul
  8. What's the recommendation for cleaning and polishing the box?
  9. Hello, Is the headlight kit on your site the E code Hella H4 set? https://www.blunttech.com/shop/1449btkt thanks, Paul
  10. This looks awesome. Been following since your first post. I would be interested in one also. I am not in a hurry. I have a '74 tii that is all stock down to the non-op cold start relay. Again, really awesome.
  11. Yeah, @mlytle is correct. Now that I am home I checked my '74 tii. The wires for the seatbelt buzzer / ignition interlock look to be 16 gauge wires. You should find the expected current draw of the seat motors before wiring them up. On my car the driver's side was 2 black/red and 1 brown. Passenger side was 2 green black and 2 brown. They were connected to the original seats before I removed them to install my recaro's. I also did the bypass as shown in the thread I previously posted. I checked both sets of wires with a test light and none of them had power with the car off. If you are getting constant hot at the green/black it is probably coming from somewhere else because these wires would have come off the ignition switch and should only be +12V when key is on/start. I notice another red wire there in your last photo, where does that go?
  12. @JeffM If the green/black is +12V at all times with a test lamp, then running a new ground wire from the Recaro to the body somewhere. The seat belt buzzer and ignition interlock has several relays. If the PO disabled the system per this thread below then the brown wire you see may not actually go straight to ground.
  13. If you have any left. I will take one. PM me the payment details. Thank you, Paul
  14. @JeffM To clarify, you are trying to use the original seat belt sensor wiring to power the Recaro's power seat functions, not to activate a seat belt sensor, correct?
  15. @Healey3000 are you thinking of this picture:From this thread: I have been reading the old threads about radiator fans and electric fan wiring. My impression is that the recommendation is the e30 fan switch PN 61311364272. This is a two stage switch and there are two models, an 82/88C and an 91/99C. If you put the switch in the lower radiator tank or hose then go with the 81C switch. If you put the switch in the water divider then use the 91C. It will thread into the water divider or a BMW radiator. According to IE that is a 14x1.5 thread and will work in their hose adapter. You only connect to one lead on the switch, corresponding to the temperature you choose. Note there is another fan switch with the same part number with only one lead that is called an Aux Fan Switch. I have not determined what temp that switch triggers. Also, base 2002's water dividers have one port, 2002tii's have two and the E30 has three. All are apparently interchangeable on the 2002 engine. Hope that helps.
  16. How much for the drivers sunvisor? Thanks, Paul
  17. @Forrest_KoogleWerks I second this idea. I was just on your site looking at the various options and I would love a panel without gauges but radio on top. My ideal would be flip this panel upside down so the radio is on top and cut off the gauge pod section. That way I could pair it with your cup holder insert and still have a little cubby hole. You've got some great products for the community. Thanks for your hard work. Paul
  18. That is great. Very professional write up also. I want to do the same thing. Would you add some details about the battery mounting and negative cable, maybe a few pictures of that area. Did you buy the e46 cable and e36 box new? If so you have part numbers. About how much was this whole modification. Again, great write up and pictures. Thanks, Paul
  19. I like the cup holder and would to buy one. But I am also writing to ask if you could take this design and modify it for a phone mount. Remove the arms for the cup holder, and replace with a flat surface extending downward about 2 inches with a single hole in the center. What I want to do is attach this magnetic ball phone mount. I have been using it in my E46 for couple months and really like it. Having the same mount in my 02 would be great. The single center hole would allow a bolt to a threaded hole in the bottom of the ball. Bonus idea. There is a standard ISO mounting hole set up that you could set up on the flat surface that would allow for other phone mounts.
  20. My '74 tii with production date 10/1973 per realoem looks just like yours, bent. I thought is was damage also for a while. But as I looked closer I could not see any of the metal buckled around or underneath the nub. Also the bend is toward the front of the car. So something would have to be pushing from the rear toward the front to bend it that direction. The only piece connected to the nub is the last of three linkages that connect the accelerator pedal, and throttle. Pushing down on the pedal pulls the nub rearward to open the Kfish for more fuel. Releasing the pedal pushes the nub forward. So in an extreme case the pedal would have to be lifted even further back toward the rear of the car to put forward pressure on the nub. And the original ball joints were plastic. I think it would be very unlikely that someone would have forced the throttle linkage in a direction that closes off fuel to the engine, and with a force that would bend that piece of steel. Therefore I think the "bent" looking nub is original. I also think I saw some other pictures on the FAQ with similar bent looking nub. Does anyone else have pictures of their kfish? Paul
  21. Has anyone else tried the AL157X as a direct replacement for a tii alternator? Pictures I can find look right compared to the original AL40X Thanks, Paul
  22. Jnaumshelter, How have you liked these new belts? They are the made in China version, right? Do you feel like they retract and latch as well as other new car belts? Thanks, Paul
  23. I am going to replace my original '74 door seals soon. What is the VP's address? Serious. Paul
  24. Do you have the tii kfish connection rods in stock. I need both the long and the short one: 35411113788 short 85 mm one 35411107367 long 289 mm one Thanks, Paul
