  3. And the original question was??? How to restore the plastic intake runners. Plastic can easily be polished back to it's original finish an number of ways. If you start off too course it will be harder and take a lot of time. Use some 0000 steel wool dipped in mineral spirits to help flush away the dirt and bring the plastic back. White rubbing compound and a good bit of labor will get them back to their satin black look. Too much polishing and they will get very shiny. I'll help you Tom, since were neighbors. I have restored some plastic pieces on my E9 this way. Gary
  4. Yes, Sorry I didn't post sooner. Most of my problem has been with my M30 motor in an E9. M10 and M30 Motors very similar and so are distributors. I haven't been able to test the experiment yet. All ready to go but my timing chain broke in my M30 and it's taking many months to sort out parts and repairs. Basically I sent a dist shaft from my M30 Bosch dist to 123 so they could see what Bosch did to the shaft to prevent oil from climbing up the shaft. They came back to me a few months later and said they had a machinist in Ohio (US office) that could modify the dist shaft like the Bosch one. They would do that for customers with problems but didn't say anything about cost for it. I know, help but not much help. Gary
  5. Hello, Gee, thanks for contacting me. Strange thing. I had this guys contact info or so I thought. Reached out to him both phone and email and never heard a word. So no one to contact. I see him at local car shows but haven't in a few months. I tried.... Thanks, Gary
  6. We'll kick my ass. I didn't go all the way and that's what you get. I've been to every one except the first two. I usually hear that registration is closed. Sorry, try again soon.
  7. Please use this to register. It's not closed. You'll see continue to register on this page. Have to use motorports.reg to finish. https://www.atthevintage.com/
  8. Yes, big group in metro Atlanta. I have a private group called BMW Classics of Georgia that has at least 5 2002's. Still missing one point though Hal. You pay dues to BMWCCA of $58. If I understand correctly $8 goes to the chapter in this case 2002 FAQ. I'm not after the money but just trying to find out if there is a use for it? Does it subsidizes the site? Which I'm fine with as I contribute to this site and two other BMW sites. Can a regional group request funds for a drive or a BBQ. Just trying to figure it out. Thanks, Gary
  9. This is what is promised in the pdf flyer posted by Hal. What local 2002 activities can I expect? • Drives through scenic locales in your 2002 • Tech sessions on maintaining/upgrading your 2002 • Tool loan program to help work on your 2002 • Cars and Coffees in your 2002 • Access to veteran expertise for your 2002 • Let your imagination run wild for other activities in your 2002! So part of the money comes to this chapter. What is done with that? Where is the money? Who is the Chapter President and officers? I heard $8. per member. Something like 200 signed up? $1600. I'm new here but not new to BMWCCA. Member for 13 years until now. My chapter stinks and only does HPDE driving events. So it was good to see an option for joining. Thanks, Gary
  10. Hey, thanks for looking but I'm not the interested party just trying to help a friend find a car. Going to let him do the heavy lifting detail searches. Thanks, Any Northern Lights going on now? Would love to come photograph them.
  11. You sure the green wire is +12v? I've seen this happen on cars before. Tach is getting a signal that is wrong from somewhere? You didn't say if tach returns to normal rpm when engine is running? Don't have wiring diagram in front of me.
  12. Maybe not but I'm not buying. Friend has Shelby Mustang GT 350 and others. His money. Has been asking me about this for a year.
  13. Thanks I did know it sold at Pebble. Trying to find out more about authenticity and history. Do you know Gary Balleisen? Wonder why it's on Mecum. Not exactly the place to sell a BMW for a good price.
  14. I have a friend in Atlanta that has been looking for a 2002 Turbo. Not many for sale. This one comes up next week. Could not find the VIN number published with the car but think I can see in a photo. 4290443 I looked on registry here and only 6 cars and not that VIN. Does anyone know anything about this car? https://www.mecum.com/lots/AZ0321-453373/1974-bmw-2002-turbo/ Thanks, Gary
  15. This is my "Rona". Wish I could be there but probably take me 4-5 days at least. My tag is Rona G. Golf Georgia Gary
