  1. Your gas tank is most likely full of rust. It collects in the fuel filter (the big one under the battery) and chokes the gas flow.. Will run fine for a few moments then gas is blocked and no more power. You should pull the tanks and clean them out thoroughly before running the engine. Replace all fuel lines and that filter too. Looks like you have a nice roundie tii to play with AND at a bargain price!
  2. Yup. It was a long shot! Almost impossible to revert. Sometimes these thermos are defective out of the box. But you say you've tested them? Others here should chime in w/suggestions.
  3. Depending on when this car was on the road last, you may end up spending thousands on even a minimal restoration. There's usually a reason a car has fallen into the 'no title' abyss. If you have a tow dolly or trailer, then take cash and negotiate the deal as a 'parts car'. Be patient and find one that you can drive home. These are special cars! Good luck and welcome!
  4. Soooo many scammers on CL. Even though I'd seen these same pics when doing a Google search for 'taiga 2002' last year, incorrect grammer in the descriptions is usually the dead giveaway. Who describes a transmission as "4 speeds"!
  5. <Complete front bumpers (Left, center and right), overriders and rubber stripping also available - please inquire for cost.> Why not just tell us the price?
  6. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Authentisch-Firstline-Wasserpumpen-FWP1148-FWP1148-/191313292245?pt=DE_Autoteile&fits=Make%3ABMW%7CType%3A2002+Tii&hash=item2c8b292bd5 Just have to use a bit of diplomacy and an online translator!
  7. You are a HERO. Such a great story. Thank you for YOUR service and bloody well done!!
  8. Had them on my 83 320i for ~2K miles and now on the 76 02. I push them pretty hard and so far I like them. They are supple and new...and they beat the heck out of the previous 10 year old 13s! Not many choices left for this size.
  9. Keep it intact. e21s are great DDs and their scarcity is driving their value upward.
  10. My beloved 18V Dewalt flashlight was found behind the door panel on a 735i I bought some years ago!
  11. Would 205/50-15s be the optimal size tires on these wheels in order to fit on a 2002 without any rubbing?
  12. Appreciate the insight! I'm going with original BMW oem. Pay an extra nickel and go first class...
  13. I have a worn out driveshaft bearing too on my 76 dd. -probably original to the car. Is this one of those parts that should be OEM or will any "less-expensive" aftermarket bearing be reliable?
  14. All of the staff there have been very helpful to me over the past 15 yrs. Like you, I do most of my own work but have had them do some of the 'tougher' jobs. Stop in and see what they have to say! The location is perfect for you in MP.
  15. Exclusively Bimmers in MP can't help? Not sure of any others in the area. If you're serious about selling, pm me w/your phone number and let's talk. I'm in Beaufort. Chip
  16. Duh moment... Well there was no check valve at all! Hard to believe I missed seeing that one. But this one rarely gets driven so I was going off my memory of the setup. Installed a check valve that I had in the garage and now the engine idles great and brakes work as they should. Thanks for the tips!
  17. Well there you go! I'll replace the check valve first and see if that's the culprit. Thanks!
  18. In the mornings when I head out down the street and hit the first stop sign (press on the brake pedal), the engine runs really rough. The vacuum generated by the booster pulls hard on the intake manifold. Let off the brake and the idle smooths right out. I'm running a Weber carb. Brake booster hose feeds into the intake manifold. Looks to be the stock hose with valve. Is there any way to remedy this?
