  1. Agreed. His shop was definitely the type of place that we're seeing less and less of--and frankly, exactly the high-knowledge, easy going gems that this thread is nostalgic for. Bonus? On visits, there was plenty of time to talk car problems, as the family loved checking in with the donkey that lived on the property. (...was it "Thunder?") Dave's passing was all too sudden. RIP. I've always wondered what happened to his "parts collection."
  2. Hi Joe. Just wanted to drop a quick note in this thread to confirm I'd sent a full set of photos via PM. Let me know if any difficulty viewing, or with the .heic format. (Not sure if this site supports that extension natively... just in case, I've made some crude .png conversions of a few key frames from the set, attaching here for reference). The driver does have some wear in the seat bottom. I have a spare "back" that was sourced by the car's PO, with intent to repair this... that will naturally go with the set. Honestly not sure what these were worth... wasn't thinking of selling prior to your post! Let me know if interested, or need more info... RS
  3. Heh. I am hoping to shake out a few dark corners of the garage this weekend in prep for the T&P swap meet... will make sure to drag these down off the top shelf, and get you some pictures.
  4. Hi Joe, I've had a pair of original, black, front seats sitting covered on a shelf here for a few years. Out of my 71, post-mod. Original, straight, but not perfect. (I had always intended to keep them with the car in case I ever rolled it back to original, but I'm feeling heavy in preparation for a move, and my conviction is wavering. ) Glad to discuss further if they might meet your needs! I'm up in PDX for now... though our buddy Chad is pushing hard for a move South. RS
  5. Back in the university days, I drove a Colorado 71 on Gold BBS's. So far, this is the only scan I've been able to turn up...
  6. Very pleased to see so many chime-in here after the gates closed... Definitely sounds like you easily have another full batch of interested parties, if/when you are again inclined to build another run, Pat!
  7. Argh, this lurker missed another batch! Still haven't seen one of these in use, but I've heard good things through the years. Clearly need to leave a note here, in hopes of catching the next production run... [fingers crossed].
  8. Well, that's damn tasty. Nice work with the build!

  10. Arrived just as nicely as described--and even faster. Thanks again!
  11. Ha! I wonder how many 'yeah, ok, I'll only do it if i can swap it back to stock in an afternoon' projects can be compiled together before one loses the trail completely...
  12. Wow, that's a tasty bit of kit bluebmw! Every day, growing weaker on my "this time, I'll keep it stock and original" ethos.
  13. bluebmw, those are just so damn proper. hubba hubba. wish i could find anything nearly so fierce!
  14. Awesome, thanks cosm3os... They look great on your ride! (Shots on wheel-specific threads always seem to just show the wheels).
  15. Stu, those wheels turned out really great. This is a way old thread, but do you have any pictures of them on the car?
