  1. 2/18 update: FYI, the Motorsport header is now spoken for. Thx, DC
  2. Hi there…Yeah, I bought the whole ensemble (shift knob, boot, e-brake boot) from Forrest 3 years ago at the 2002 show in Brisbane. I couldn’t be happier with the quality and style. I hope you find one available! Thanks for touching base.
  3. Hi everyone…Long time no post. Before any of the crusty ‘ol curmudgeons start squawking, this is a “heads up” and not a “For Sale” post, so hence my posting here ;-). In my never-ending quest to attain utter destitution and insolvency, I currently have some significant enhancements being made to my 1973 tii (2764282) with 2.5L S14. For those who may be interested, these include: -MoTec M130 stand-alone ECU -Custom Coil-on-Plug ignition system -Motorsport-grade wiring harness -VAC Camshaft/Crank Trigger systems -One-off titanium header/exhaust syst. -MoTec custom gauge panel -Individual tuned velocity stacks -Kooglewerks Limmerfelgen Wheels Consequently, I MIGHT soon be making some or all the following items available. Everything here consists of bespoke/custom objets de désir that are NLA, superb quality and in near-perfect (“perfect” = brand new in my book) condition. Please DM me if you have interest. Full disclosure: Nothing here is inexpensive! -BMW Motorsport 2-piece, “Gruppe A Rallye Header.” This header is pure sculpture and has been NLA for years. It is considered by many to be the best choice for significant power gains while maintaining mid-range punch. Mine was professionally ceramic-coated at a significant cost. See: BMW Motorsport Evo II / 50/50 Rally Header for E30 M3 S14 STORE.LANGRACING.COM BMW Motorsport Evo II / 50/50 Rally Header for E30 M3 S14 Unfortunately this header is... -Custom, 3” diameter Stainless Steel complete exhaust system. This system was made for my car by Kermit Upton III of Mountain Autosport Racing in Ludlow, VT. It is a work of art and produces the absolute perfect sound (deep & powerful, not too loud and with zero raspiness). The center (just replaced last year) and rear mufflers are full SS from Borla’s racing division. -Custom, German-made, OEM style, carbon fiber airbox. Over 2 decades ago, this direct bolt-on airbox was part of a very small run by a small company in Germany (John Johnson from Maxx-automotive GmbH Germany). It has long been NLA and provides the functional benefit of dramatically reduced stress on the rubber intake blocks located between the throttle bodies and cylinder head. It also produces a fantastic intake sound compared to the OEM unit. Here is a link to a near-identical airbox (also NLA) offered by a different company. S14 Carbon Replica Plenum (E30 M3 / 2002 M2) - Carbon Airboxes STORE.MOTORSPORTSCONCEPTS.COM The S14 carbon replica plenum is made of 100% carbon fiber and weighs in at only 1.5 kg. The very... -Ireland Engineering, one-off center gauge panel with VDO gauges. Back when Jeremy Chandler was with I.E., he made this gorgeous metal panel for me. It includes all gauges and openings for a push-start button and hazard lights button. -Five (5) HRE 535 custom forged 15” wheels. Two are 6.5” & three (fronts + spare) are 6”. I had these custom made by HRE about 20 years ago. They are light, strong, NLA, in beautiful condition and drop-dead gorgeous to the point that I (almost) tire of answering the “OMFG, where did you get those?!” questions at O2 shows and C&Cs. They strike the absolute perfect balance between “period correct cool” and “subtle aggression.” I may end up keeping them as a second pair of shoes, still on the fence… Below, please find a few pics that I was able to gather. Thanks!
  4. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz??? You really should consider throwing just a teeny-tiny bit of variety into your acumen lol, it’s downright odiously boring to hear the same, geriatric moaning & whinging post after post about “how it used to be” and “the kids today.” Jeesh, whatever makes people happy with their cars is just perfectly fine with me, stance, turbos, crazy wraps, stickers, whatever! Variety is the spice of life dude, expand your outlook.
  5. Sorry, private banter! Irdave sold me a custom, Motion Control suspension. “Those things” are the MC adjustable dampers.
  6. I forgot to mention: One other major factor for me in going with the S14 is that it shares the same, basic block as the M10…so it reinforces my mindset that the car’s current power source represents a natural evolution from that which preceded it. I’m definitely not biased in any way here btw. ?
  7. For me, there’s just nothing like an S14, especially in 2.5L stroker form. They’re expensive because they’re increasingly rare & are hugely iconic, the winningest motor in the history of DTM racing. If all that means nothing to you, or if the value doesn’t align with your resources (both perfectly understandable and fine), then yeah, it’s definitely not the right choice. For me, just opening the hood every time, seeing that beautiful engine and thinking about everything it represents to BMW and to global motorsports, makes it all worthwhile. Definitely not for everyone though, I get it, but the people laying out the big dollars for S14s are not doing it so they can make a bunch of money flipping engines/cars (that’s just silly), they’re doing it because of what the motor represents to them and to automotive history. I recently bought a complete spare S14 for $10K (right place/right time I guess) and am hoping to find a new Sport Evo block with its extra webbing reinforcement and special oiling & piston squirters. Hard to find and easily $8K just for the bare block, ouch!
  8. Wow, lots of great work and exciting developments...thanks for sharing!
  9. Very sweet car...and a great story with excellent pictures. Bravo!! Thank you for sharing, the car looks beautiful. COOP PS: Extra points for “pecuniary”

Hi Ryan...Nice going, cool of you to help her out. Seems like a nice kid! coop
  11. I DM’d you! Please call or email me. If your trans is problem-free in good working order, it should work! Thanks, Coop coopspeed@hotmail.com 415 994-5061
  12. Randy Nonnenberg (the founder) sold Bring a Trailer to Hearst Communications last month. Apparently, he and his complete staff will continue working there and nothing will change as far as daily operations go...but they always say that lol.
  13. Thank you kindly! It’s still so nice, it’s just not Coop’s anymore lol. It’s now in one of Europe’s sweetest BMW collections, but I’m told it gets driven, which makes me feel a bit better...although I do sometimes weep...
  14. Hi all...I just swapped out my OEM tii fuel tank for a custom fuel cell and was going to offer it up on the Classifieds or maybe just bring it to Brisbane in Sept. It’s in excellent condition and includes the complete sending unit. I also don't need the expansion tank under the car, as the new cell includes that function as well. I have no idea what to list it all for. I’d like to give someone a decent deal as opposed to asking top dollar. Any guidance? The comps produced by my search weren’t very helpful as the tanks all looked super rough. Thanks in advance!
  15. Yeah, I’m good. Hope everything works out.
  16. lol, point taken, go for it! You probably could have outlined his adversarial douchebaggery a little more clearly in your initial post as I missed it (or maybe I’m a tad daft)... ...and I don’t understand your last comment (“strange package from back East,” etc), your unique brand of humor often goes over my head.
  17. I missed any Initial mention that he “filed the PayPal claim as a non-delivered item,” but, if accurate (I saw it in Conkitchen’s subsequent post) it’s a valid point and I’d probably go into “F-Him” mode too in that instance. I originally interpreted that the PP claim was simply to get his deposit refunded.
  18. I’d refund his full deposit, painful though that might be. It’s called “taking the high road and being the better man.” I look at deposits as an effective selling tactic to gain mental commitment and a higher probability that a sale will ultimately occur, more so than an ironclad guarantee of a done deal. At the end of the day, sure, he wasted a little of your time and inconvenienced you to a minor degree, but he didn’t really cost you anything financially in concrete terms (to convince yourself otherwise is shaky moral justification). I’ve returned many thousands of dollars in customer deposits; it was inevitably wince-worthy, but deep down always felt like the right thing to do. I felt better by telling myself it actually never was a sale so I didn’t lose anything...but may have gained a future referral or a good word on the street. You asked, that’s just my opinion, which you can of course discard in favor of everyone else’s telling you to pocket the cash.

    Very sad day

So that’s how you generate a 6-page thread...much like my wife can make me ask “what’s wrong?!” 6 times by repeatedly sighing deeply while pursing her lips (and, of course, refusing to tell me what I did).

    Moving right along

    Looks phenomenal! Thanks for sharing!
