  1. Can we upload any 1600/2002 we like or just photos we took ourselves?
  2. I take that back. Your link worked for my vin. The vin decoder for the part site everybody gives my vin shows E30. thanks. Modelo BMW 1600 Región USA Versión (LHD) Volante a la izquierda Transmisión Mecánico Carrocería 114 Generación Pre 71 Año 1969 Producción ene-69 - dic-69
  3. That would only work if my car was stock as it left the factory. My vin shows up as an E30. And the previous owner has mismatched parts all over the place I am finding out. I have learned in the last few days my tank maybe from a later car ( people on this board are split, my friend said I have the wrong tank), my rear diff is from 1600 (4.10 gears) but I have speedo from 2002 with higher gears. That is why my speedo says I am going 90mph when I am really only doing 70mph. So, I am not sure what transmission I have in the car. If the part I want is the same for 2002 or 1602 then it would not matter I could just order one right now.
  4. I purchases 1969 bmw. I am not sure if it is a 1600 or a 2002. The ebay ad say 2002 but there have been enough discrepancy to make me think it is a 1600. I am not sure what to call this part. I am going to call it a clutch rod. Is this part the same for a 1600 or 2002? This a 4 spd car.
  5. What year would you consider late model? Do they bolt it or bolt in with little effort? thx.
  6. Trying to figure why my speedometer is off. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/148686-adjust-speedometer/ From this tire calculator my speedo should only be off by about 7mph at 60. My car is off by 20mph! haha. Must be the wrong diff.
  7. What is the aspect ratio? 205/50/16 ( looking for the middle number )
  8. That looks very nice. How has it held up over the years? On a side note what is your front seat out of?
  9. rockauto has them for sale for $30 RAYBESTOS or $36 ACDELCO.
  10. That's a good idea. When you click on my pictures to see full size I do not see a part number any where. I guess I will have to hang it out of tank tomorrow. thanks.
  11. Thanks. I will try and get a hold of some taller tires and see home much of difference that makes.
  12. haha. I already did search. I guess I will always have to include that I searched first. I want to know what part to order. I see tons of threads on how to test fuel send, gas gauge. I don't see one with a picture of every year fuel sender was made for which car. From my other thread that I linked in post #1, post #14 http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/148685-hard-to-fill-gas-in-the-tank/#entry960232 You said "basically you have the wrong tank in your car." Which to me sounds like I can't just order a fuel sender for a 1969 bmw 2002. I was hopping somebody here could identify my fuel sender and tell what year I need to buy. I did test the fuel sender it is bad. "( i tested the fuel gauge with a POT, and the sender with a volt meter)". I guess I should have added I set the voltmeter to ohm. I checked it at empty, full and It try move it someplace in the middle. Thanks for your helpful information.
  13. I just purchased 1969 bmw 2002/1600 last friday. I am in the process of fixing a bunch little stuff. My fuel sender is bad. ( i tested the fuel gauge with a POT, and the sender with a volt meter). At least I think the fuel gauge is good. If I jump it, the gauge reads full. If set the POT to around 15/20 ohms it reads around 7/8th full. I am getting help from another fuel problem here. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/148685-hard-to-fill-gas-in-the-tank/ From that thread it sounds like I might not have the right tank for my year car. So, what I would like to know is what year do I need to order to replace this part here?
  14. On a side note what is (nt) on this forum mean. I have seen it a few times and never on any of the other forums I have been on.
  15. What is the magic word I need to use when looking up that rubber gasket? I tried tank on maximillian but did not see what I needed. http://bmwmobiletradition-onlinecom.x-shops.com/bmw/partsearch.do?keywords=tank&model=2552&mospid=47140
  16. My registration says 1969. I know the guy I bought it from mix and matched a lot of parts though. My speedo is 20mph off at 70mph. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/148686-adjust-speedometer/#entry960205
  17. I don't know if you can tell from my picture but my gas tank is not open to the trunk. There is another out pipe that covers it. Thanks for the supply suggestions. I have never heard of realoem.com or BLUNTTECH.
  18. I have been thinking about doing something similar LimeySteve. thanks.
  19. Thanks for the info. Mine does not have the rubber piece. Where is a good place to buy it? Rockauto, amazon or ebay?
  20. Does my picture look right? The pipe that goes to the tank is probably about 2 to 3 inches from the external body of the car.
  21. I just purchases 2002 last night. Is there a way to adjust the speedometer? When I am on the freeway doing 70 mph the speedometer says I am doing 90 mph. The tires on the car are 185/60/13. The car has a 4spd manual.
