    BMW's and Coffee

First time out to the Blunttech hosted "BMW's and Coffee" in Deerhaven MN. Got to meet Steve for the first time (Great guy), and a lot of other standup owners and enthusiasts. I surprisingly didn't feel out of place, and was surprised how welcoming everyone was. The highlight for me was Brendan's (also from Blunttech) Touring with a monster M series engine and a Jeep radiator wedged in front. The patina on it was perfect. It had soul. I hope to own a Touring one day, if my current 02 doesn't end in a divorce or bankruptcy. Big thanks to Steve for hosting such an event~ Photos:
  5. Hey Gang, Is anyone in the Minnesota area going to Blunttech's BMW's and coffee tomorrow morning, that has an extra alternator they want to part with for a '75 '02 base model? I would also be interested in the popular e21 AL116X upgrade if anyone has one. Thanks!

Sputtering at low rpm's and 'L' light flickering

@avoirdupoisI always find that when I begin a sentence with "not to make you feel bad", I inevitably make someone feel bad.. That being said, I'm sure I deserved the gentle chastising, but I wholeheartedly thank you for the feedback and for the advice as to what the (car) issue may be. I will do more base homework prior to bothering the forum in the future. I admit it's very easy to be lazy and ping the community before starting in what is a more logical place to a more seasoned owner. I happen to be a complete newcomer to both '02 ownership and car wrenching, which is why my description was filled with so much "vagueness". I didn't find any of the feedback to be generalized, but maybe that is because of my newcomer status. I've learned so much already, and think the community here is pretty amazing. So based on your list, here is what I know: Mileage: Unknown-it was stuck at 56K when I bought it from the second owner Engine: I dont know enough to say Maintenance: Ive only done cosmetic and oil changes since ownership of about a year, save for an exhaust leak welded up Thanks again for all of your ideas.

Time to get a dwell meter! Thanks for the tips@stone02 and@adawil2002 . I now have to educate myself how to do all this, and where the points are! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I'll start off by saying that I made every attempt to diagnose this combing through the site prior....feel free to point me in the direction of another post if this is in any way a duplicate. So, I have a 32/36 weber. It's a 1975 02 stock engine. Today on the highway, I hit a bit of traffic. Coming back to speed from first I see my "L" light flicker and the car hesitate and sputter. Cleared up in the higher gears at speed, but I was rattled. It continued as I got off the freeway on surface streets. I had to give it plenty of gas to push through first. It finally cut off after I made a 3 point turn to then backup and park in my garage space. My first searches through the site were with search words like 'sputtering' and 'hesitation'. Most of those articles talked about jets rattling loose and dirty fuel filters. I just went out to get a new filter and plugs while I'm at it. I then thought to look up issues with the 'L' light...and searches there turned up a bad alternator possibility or voltage regulator. I just had a new sound system I'm wondering if that had something to do with it? It's ran perfectly for 5 days since that work was performed. I place myself and my 02 at the mercy of the community. Bolt on Bliss Install

@cyclist01- since it's only a 6.5", I couldn't tell a supreme difference between the 2. Also, the small shop that did the work gives a 3 year warranty on the Memphis. All that being said, I love music but I'm pretty sure I don't have audiofile ears. What are your thoughts? I've read many mixed reviews on Memphis. I've been happy with my setup so far. I may regret not going for an 8"...which Jason said could fit... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BMW Fold out cup holder: SOLD

If anyone is interested in this, make an offer. Works great with no cracks, however the plastic bmw logo has yellowed. The back has mounting holes should you choose to go that route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bolt on Bliss Install

Just a note to anyone considering an order to bolt on bliss. I ordered a full kit of regular kick panels, a hat tray and sub enclosure. They were just installed, and I am beyond happy with the turnout. The finishing of the hat tray build is awesome. I'm in the middle of a full interior redo, so I'll post updated photos after that is done. Also, I should mention Jason is a real pleasure to deal with, which makes things even better. Here are a couple for now (Esty makes perfect carpet panels to accommodate the kick panels FYI) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Newby checking in

Another + for wallothnesch, even with international shipping the cost is lower than ordering from anyone stateside-especially with the euro being where it's at currently. Would love to see your build photos, I have a 75 as well Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
