  1. I'm looking for a rear subframe for my '73 2002tii. Let my know if you have one or know of one in California. Thanks! Location: Bay Area, CA, USA
  2. Thanks for the advice guys! I'm Located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've decided to look around for a new subframe without much luck yet. I've got a few other things i can work on in the meantime, but I'm hoping to find one over the next 2 week. jgerock, I like your idea of sealing the ends to prevent rust on the inside. Hopefully others chime in with pros and cons.
  3. I dropped my subframes to have them powder coated. Fronts are off, reinforced and ready to head to the powder coaters. The rear mounts are giving me a lot of issues. I've tried everything to get the rear mounts off. One nut came out and that bolt is free, but the other 3 nuts have sheared and are really stuck in there. I've PB blasted them over multiple days, torched, frozen and beaten them with a hammer, but these things won't budge. I'm reluctant to drill them out of the sleeves in the rear subframe. Does anyone have suggestions? My other concern is the amount of rust that has come out of the subframe. There are many pieces of rust that are an inch square or larger. Should I be concerned? Thanks!
  4. Anyone know where to get a set for a reasonable price? Location: East Bay, CA
  5. I don't think its leaking from the dipstick and I have confirmed that the clamps are tight. Does that return hose connect with that plate next to the dipstick? In my initial picture, the oil origin of appears to be from that circle in the square plate that is outlined with the white box.
  6. Any idea what the part number would be? I've looked on realoem, but cannot figure out what I need.
  7. Hey everyone! Long time reader, first time poster. I picked up a '73 tii a few months back and am just getting around to starting a light rolling restoration on it. It is a blast to drive and runs perfectly, but I have had a small oil leak since I purchased the car. I added some uv dye tonight and found that the oil leak is coming from a circular opening in a square plate a few inches behind the dipstick (which has a small rubber hose connecting the tube to the block. I know there's been 2 variations). I have another M10 motor that I purchased and this square is where the housing for the dipstick is (it has no location for a dipstick elsewhere. Is my tii's M10 block supposed to have a plate covering this location? -Thanks!
  8. Sorry I couldn't make it! Looks like you all had a good ride! Let's plan another drive in the not so distant future!!
  9. I live in Lafayette and am also new to the '02 community. PM me to figure out when we can meet up. We should get a little gathering going out in the East Bay if we can get enough people interested. --Ian

    Priming And Sanding.

Keep it black. I think it will look more aesthetically pleasing when the hood is down and you can't see them through the grill.
  11. May be nice to have a DIY section where people can put write-ups they do for individual projects. Just help keep things organized a bit more instead of having everything mixed together.
