  1. I don't have PS, I learned from tutorials online. Here are two of the same layout. I rebuilt the image and cleaned it up a bit I think. The second one I was trying to get the metallic shine, sort of worked. I suppose the year could be added on the bottom part. I someone here did that and it looked pretty good. I'm going to bed now!
  2. I think we were just throwing out design ideas. I think someone here can chime in on the cost of producing these. I assume the site owner (steve k?) would be the one to get these made. Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a shot on this last iteration. I don't know how cloisonne emblems are made so this is my concern: I'm making this on GIMP (similar to photoshop but free) and exporting it as a JPEG. I don't think my image is "good enough" for actual production as its very low resolution. I assume the fabricator will have to recreate the image in whatever manner is suitable for them to make these. Our images are a representation of what we would like. Again, hopefully someone with experience can chime in.
  3. Thanks guys. I think some of the issues with my design can be addressed by changing the font type and using a checkered flag or diamonds instead of the propeller. I can change it later and post it.
  4. Here's one more I made. I was trying to get a chrome effect on the gray parts. So just pretend the gray is chrome.
  5. Hey guys sorry I couldn't make it. My rear suspension is torn apart at the moment. Looks like you guys got a nice spot.
  6. bought something from MrSlacker. He was fast and easy to deal with.
  7. I had to google that, but that's pretty much what I meant by a "printed" badge. Thanks, learned something new.
  8. Was the plan to get a "printed" image on a tin or like an embossed cast piece? I think that would affect which design you choose (as well as cost).
  9. esty, whats the name of that color? looks like tan or oatmeal on your site.
  10. Esty, which color carpet do you recommend with a saddle interior?
  11. ^my dad has both at his house. I'll give it a shot, it doesn't look like something you can mess up like painting a car. I found this picture on the net, i'm actually considering matching it to the carpet.
  12. Thanks for all your info everybody. I'll do some research on those dyes.
  13. I bought brand new door cars from the BMW dealership to replace my existing ones. I was planning on installing the new cards and having recaros and rear seats reupholstered to match the new cards. I know the color difference between tobacco and saddle has been discussed already, I'm perfectly fine with the more reddish color. My problem is with new door cards, new e21 recaros and new rear seat, the rear side panel won't match the more reddish color. Has anyone run into this problem and what did you end up doing it? I'm thinking of dying it, or possibly have them reupholstered with the same material. New ones from BMW are more expensive than the front door cards! My existing interior matches the left door card, the new door card from BMW looks like the one on the right. If you're going to ask why replace them? well my existing door cards have speaker holes, some small tears, chrome foil is gone and the mounting board is very worn and cracked. The rear seats are pretty good for the most part, but the seams on the basket weave vinyl are starting to crack in some places. This isn't my picture, I found it on FAQ. If this is your picture and you don't want me using it please let me know and i'll take it down.
  14. I'm sitting in an upholstery shop as I type. I'm looking through the GAHH catalog and it seems that MB tex saddle and saffron match pretty close. From searching it was mentioned Mahogany is close but looks too red for me. I have an original tobacco door card with me. Any input on those colors, MB saddle, saffron, mohogany?
  15. Hey Robert, that sounds good. I think I can make it.
  16. where are you located? do you have pictures of the carpet? thanks.
  17. Those have an interesting look. Do you have a picture of them mounted on a 2002?
  18. I hate to be the one but thats not the real date. Every year that picture circulates the internet with a photoshopped date.
