  1. Up for consideration is my 1970 2002. I've been so busy with my house, work and 1 year old that its really hard to even drive it once a week. Clean title in my name on hand. Odometer reads 35,xxx but unsure if its accurate. I purchased her bone stock from a friend of mine. He had daily driven it for about a year before deciding to sell it. I lowered it, threw on some wheels and have been driving it without any issues. Engine: Bone stock down to the original carb. Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter and oil change this month. Idles great. No Smoke. Trans/diff: original 4-speed. clutch is great. Interior: Stock. Newer carpet, cracked dash, front driver seat has a tears. Suspension: Ireland Engineering Stage 1 springs with 1.5 coils cut. OE replacement shocks. Exterior/body: Aftermarket paint job (not sure when). Needs some TLC. Front end has a few dings. The car had some bubbling paint on the rear lower fender area. It was grinded down, treated and prepped for paint. (See photos). Car has a few tiny, tiny, tiny signs of rust here and there. Shock towers are are perfect, spare tire well has a small rust spot. Photos show the bumper caps and windshield wipers arent installed, but I have all of those parts. Asking $6,900 OBO. Very motivated, adult seller...but not in a hurry to sell, so please no lowballers, flippers, etc... Located in Southern California 92882. Willing to happily ship at buyer's expense! thallihan@gmail.com 714-364-77 four five Location: CORONA, CA 92882 Year: 1970 Make: BMW Model: 2002

  3. 5k sounds like a good deal. get the paint detailed, slap a new weber on there and some fresh fluids and you might have a solid running gem.
  4. Looking for a side mirror for my '70 2002. chrome plastic version. Condition not really an issue. Thanks! thallihan@gmail.com Location: Southern California
  5. Selling two sets of my wheels. Located in Corona, CA 92882. 1st Set: $375 OBO E21/320I Mesh wheels. *five wheels* 13x5.5 et18 2 tires are 185's with 80% tread 2 tires are 205's with 50% tread 5th tire shows cording (spare) Comes with all four center caps All came from the same car, so no discoloration or funky production differences. No curb rash or accidents, pitting etc...very clean. I actually love these wheels and they looked great on my '02, but I recently picked up a set of enkei apache's from another Faq member so adios to these. I was planning on replacing the tires, but these for sure have life left in them, I would get them balanced because i dont see weights on all of the wheels. Please email or text for additional photos 714-364-77four five thallihan@gmail.com 2nd set: $350 OBO E30/325is Basketweaves 14x6.5 All four center caps included All tires are 195's. Two are identical with great tread. The other two are randoms but still have a good amount of tread. All four roll smooth. Previous owner primered them. These came on my 2002 when i purchased the car, so not sure why he primered them but at least he did a good job. 6. Now that you mention it, my pedal does feel pretty firm. Although this is my first RUNNING 2002 (that's a whole different story) that I've owned, its hard to compare it to how it should feel.
  7. Hi Guys, 1970 '02 Base. Stock brakes. I have this strange constant whistle that's either coming from my brake pedal assembly or the brake booster. The only time it goes away is when I apply slight pressure to the pedal. The rest of the time... its constant and somewhat annoying. I'm thinking either the vacuum line is old and cracked...or possibly a leak coming from the booster itself which would be a bummer. I wanted to see if anyone out there had this issue.
  8. Hi guys, I'm looking for 14'' or 15'' gold mesh wheels. 4x100. Tires would be great as well, but rims only are ok. Located in Southern California, but will pay for shipping. thallihan@gmail.com Location: Corona, CA
  9. Thanks everyone for the input and advice. The seller has lost the title ages ago, and cannot honestly remember if it was a 75 model or 76 model. He has applied for a lost/duplicate oregon title. When he applied for it, he wrote down 1975.
  10. this is what im going to try. I bought a car out of state and AAA handled everything. Coming from a long history of track cars, I have smog connections, but I'd love to not have to worry about that with this car! the car was last registered in oregon, so im going to try and claim it as a '75 when i get it all ready to be registered.
  11. ah yeah i do have the emissions crap in the engine bay. that only came on 76's? no chance it came on 75's? would it be smog exempt since it was produced in '75? i ready the DMV's requirements and they dont specify
  12. Thanks for your help, guys. bookmarked! I live in California, and the smog exempt cutoff is 1975...so you can understand how important the year is! That site says my car is from 10/75. Hopefully California DMV goes off that.
  13. Hi guys, Is there anywhere on the car I can confirm the year of the car? I dont know if its a 75 or 76 I tried a couple VIN sites, but they all want the 80- 17 digit Vin. Many thanks in advance! Last registered in Oregon VIN 2373313
  14. Alright, Well I made some progress last night. The black wire I thought was the starter turned out to be the headlight (weird) Anyway, all the lights work perfectly now. However, I cant get the damn car to fire now. It will crank all day, but just wont start. Pardon my ignorance, but does the wiring connected to the ignition switch somehow effect if the car will fire up or not? This is my first 2002 (honda guy before this), and the car appears to have an upgraded distributor. Is it possible that I mixed around the plugs and now the system that sparks the car is not getting any voltage? I bought a meter yesterday at lunch, so I'm ready to tackle some troubleshooting...just dont know where to start on this car. Thanks, guys.
  15. Thanks for the great input. I will try this as soon as I leave the office. If nothing improves, I will take some photos tonight and post them up for a more clarified approach. Thanks again everyone.
  16. I get so close to this, but there are a few hiccups: -i dont see a single black wire for terminal 50. I do see a thick black wire, BUT its also paired up with a thick red wire connect to the same spade. is this correct? -for terminal 15, is this two green wires (one thick, one thin) paired up into the one spade? I guess i could do the reverse approach and tell you guys what wires i do have under there: -Thick red wire 1 -Thick red wire 2 -Purple wire -Light green wire with black stripe running down it -Solid black wire paired up with red wire into same spade -Two green wires (one thick one thin) paired up into same spade Thanks in advance for all your help. I've been working on cars for the last ten years, but I HATE electrical issues!
  17. I have a pretty good cap, but just missing that little blue vent peice. But, if you'd rather just sell the cap along with the blue vent part...I'll do that too. Please shoot me an email thallihan@gmail.com or text 714-364-7745. Thanks for the help!
  18. Hi Guys, 1975 BMW 2002 manual I've been using the search function on this issue for the last week, but havent found anything related to it. I have a feeling my wires connected to my ignition switch arent connected correct. However, after searching and finding great wire diagrams on here, I believe some of my wires on my ignition switch have been replaced (ie, I dont see a black single wire, and a couple other wires that dont see to be helping my issue). So the run down: I'll get in my car, pull the parking and headlight switch. Parking lights come on perfect, no issue there....but the headlights dont turn on. I'll put the key in and turn it, still no headlights... only when i turn the key all the way to crank the starter, thats when the headlights turn on..but as soon as i turn that key back, the headlights go off. So i've cancelled out any relay/fuse problems because the headlights obviously work nice and bright, and *the headlights worked great before i started messing around with the ignition switch wiring* (thats another topic for a different day) Thanks to anyone that chimes in!
  19. Hi Guys, Looking for the little blue vent cap that goes on top of the brake fluid reservoir. Can't find them for sale anywhere. I just purchased a car that did not come with this blue cap. Anyone have one laying around or can shoot me a link or any alternadives?
