  2. Bare metal inside and out. Trim holes welded, guards cut and flares fitted
  3. Powertrain in first blog post. Fully built PPM parts catalogue m20 stroker turbo
  4. As quite a few 02 drivers have performed the conversion and would be able to answer the front air dam question i woukd prefer their input than that of a vag forum. I appreciate your advice though
  5. Hi all, I am interested in fitting mk1 VW flares. My questions are wether there are different varieties? If there is a product code etc? Best places to source? Best or preferred front airdam to pair with? Sorry about all the questions. Thanks again, Aaron
  6. I need to run as much rear tire as possible (225) to put the power down. I can reduce the front tire width though (215?)
  7. Hi all, My car build will feature Mk1 Flares. While it is common knowledge that 15 x 8 with 0 offset is a great fit I'm interested in whether a small charge in offset is likely to cause fitment issues? To put it in perspective this is a link to some rims that are of interest http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SSR-Reverse-Mesh-15x8-1-4x100-wheels-JDM-MX5-Honda-Formula-Volk-Rays-Enkei-/282079978719?hash=item41ad46e4df:g:3CoAAOSwepZXSCuX Any assistance from those in the know is greatly appreciated Aaron
  8. Almost totally rust free, very very lucky!! Happy boy

    Intro

Hi All, This is my first blog ever I will start by bringing up to speed on my 1969 2002 build. Last year after owning several modern Japanese and Euro performance cars I thought what I really wanted was an older project car. The 2002 Appealed on several levels with one being the fact I had only seen 1 on the road over several years of looking. As this is my first full build from scratch I may need to leverage the Brains trust that is 2002faq haha My shell was purchased middle of last year so the first few entries will bring the blog up to present
  12. LATE LAST YEAR car Leaves Melbourne Car arrives at engineers for rotisserie build/Mounting. My first physical view of car, looks ok. Lots and lots to do. Car sits at engineers for nearly 2 months before he builds and fits Rotisserie Car is then transported while mounted to its new little home in my garage
  13. LAST YEAR Car has been found, after looking at several rust buckets I settled on this fellow. Car was described as rust free stating that all rust has been, cut, welded, lead rubbed and primed. My thought process is that im better off paying a similar amount for a rust free shell opposed to a rusted up complete car. The car is 2000km away and being a trusting fellow Ive bought sight unseen.
