  1. I think I'll go again, unfortunately mine is not street legal right now and the inspection place was giving me a hard time about a missing catalytic converter on a 72' bmw and refused to approve the inspection.
  2. Here is the current state of my baby https://www.dropbox.com/s/zxclsx4ce5ltmm5/2014-07-25%2010.00.31.jpg
  3. I'm in South Austin right now, but I'm down to meet up when ever. Currently my car is not state inspected and I can't drive it too far until I find time to have it inspected.
  4. I'm afraid my poor baby can't make it that far without me fearing for something breaking. I do drive it around as my daily driver here in San Antonio.
  5. I am looking for a starter for my 1972. text or email me: 210-464-8230 or matthew@johnstons.io
  6. I have been driving my 2002 in San Antonio for the last 6 years and I have only seen two other 2002's here. If you are here and see a white one with red stripes, I am a friendly guy
  7. Yes, look at the far left intake rocker. I broke two of them when I was tearing the head apart 5 years ago. Both of them broke in the same spot so I'm thinking I need to replace them. At least with the way it broke, the valve was shut and and nothing too catastrophic happened other than exhaust shooting through the air intake
  8. So I'm driving down the highway, and suddenly a lot of poping and no power coming from my car. I cut the engine and coasted to a stop. Got my car home and as I feared, it was something with my valve / rocker http://imgur.com/a/2LX3W Can you guys help me out? I need to get a set of gaskets and apparently a new rocker arm...probably a few of them just in case. EDIT: this is my daily driver not to mention my only vehicle
  9. I need both front seat belts for driver and passenger. I need the 8 pin hazard flasher switch as well.
  10. Any hazard flashers or front seat belts? warmwaffles@gmail.com - Matthew
  11. Gas Tank has been like that for years. I want to replace it but I don't have the funds or time yet. Brakes are fine, I just need to replace the brake vacuum booster Transmission has been replaced, along with the mounts. Engine mounts as well, etc... Do need new bushings soon for the entire suspension.
  12. So I swung by our local Tractor supply, picked up 6, 5/16 bolts that are roughly 60mm and put them on my car. They are hardened and should last a little while. I'll be ordering 12 of the proper bolts and nuts so I can replace both sides. I needed something to get me back onto the road as this is my daily driver.
  13. I can only imagine the poor soul who found this out the hard way
  14. Yea, I pulled two bolts out from the wheel side and they were sheared right through. Two of them total. I don't know if more were supposed to be there.
  15. I was afraid of this. I was going to go out to our local tractor supply or Ace Hardware and look for some hardened bolts.
  16. Well this was. I come to a stop sign at the top of a hill and turn right and accelerate, when I lost all power. Motor was running and responding to the throttle, but no movement. At first I feared it was the drive shaft, because it happened to me once. Got out of the car and took a look around. Looks like the bolts on the half shaft backed themselves out and sheared right off. Crazy. http://i.imgur.com/ycgA7.jpg Anyone know the bolt sizes? I want to try to get this fixed soon so I can have my baby back.
