  1. North Bay Bavarian in Santa Rosa is a little north of your desired range but they have done this sort of work in the past. It would be worth a phone call. 707-545-0820
  2. What looks just right are those seats! 😀
  3. I agree with the comments above. Also, if he pays for the return shipping and you refund his money, you may well be able to sell the gauges for more, with full disclosure, despite the blemishes. Everyone wins. Good luck.
  4. I’m not in the market but this is fantastic to see! Just beautiful.
  5. Thanks for the update. Those wide steelies look the business!
  6. Thanks for sharing your adventure, Jim! It sounds like the car treated you well throughout. The pictures came through as attachments and look great. Brian
  7. I wanted to give a big shout out to everyone who put the time and effort into making yesterday's event such a success! It takes a lot of hard hard work to pull something like that off. Thank you to all of the volunteers! Brian
  8. Hey there, Ed! Crud indeed! I think you and I did unknowingly fight it out several years ago. Letting it go was definitely the right move for me but it is still sad to part with it. The upside is that I'm likely to drive my '02 more often.
  9. Hello everyone. My NK has found a new home in Los Angeles. The new owner is very enthusiastic and has plans to breathe new life into the car. You might see him check in here for updates and support. Ideally, I would have kept the NK longterm but this was the right move. This forum has been great even if I'm primarily a lurker! The passion and personality here are fantastic. There is no need for farewells because I'll still check in from time to time, and I will continue on the '02 side. All the best. Brian

  11. Niki Lauda! Lucky dog. I don't need the trunk mat but couldn't resist playing!
  12. Glad you’re back on the road. All that torment was worth it! Thanks for sharing the story. Brian
  13. I'm not going to be buying these seats but I sure will be looking at the pictures a lot. Very nice indeed.
  14. Hi Dave. I’ll leave this tranny issue to Ed and others who are more knowledgeable but I do want to congratulate you on the car. She appears to be a nice example. One solution to your current problem would be to swap in a manual. That extra pedal adds a lot of fun! Welcome to the group! Brian
  15. I should have created a post as Alberto did because I am looking for a tii booster as well. If anyone has one available, please PM me. Thanks. Brian
  16. That’s a particularly great shot, Ed. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Brian
  17. I am parting with this black, leather wrapped steering wheel. There is no indication of which brand, but "Made in Italy" and "7/79" are stamped on the back. On the front side there is a small sticker which reads "BMW Motor Sport", which may or may not be original, and a stamping reading "E 10733." The wheel measures 35 cm (13.78 inches). The leather shows signs of age but the stitching is secure and it is in good condition overall. Steering wheel only, hub and horn button are not included. $75 plus shipping. Thank you. Brian
  18. I should have specified in my last post. Yes, we shimmed the driver's side a bit. Good luck with your pursuit of the 2000ti booster!
  19. Welcome to the FAQ NK forum, Dirk! It's great to read your post and I look forward to following the progress as you work on the car. Brian
  20. You're absolutely right about following up with IE regarding items listed as out of stock. If the Supersprint set doesn't work out, I may reach out to them about their shorty headers. Jim Huff's Gray Ghost is one of the NKs successfully using them. One more tip on the clearance issue with the booster: while the air filter elbows just cleared the tii booster, we adjusted a motor mount slightly to give a couple more millimeters.
  21. Wow, it's so helpful to hear that you are attempting the same thing with Supersprint. I have the later subframe so your experience with the idle arm is great to know before starting. I will definitely post an update here after moving forward. Thanks again. Brian
  22. Thanks, Nick. I'm glad you like the non-servo feel. I was close to going that direction but my mechanic had a spare tii booster so we gave it a shot. And it worked, but just. I know that 40s are they way that most people go with a mostly stock engine but my mechanic, who is also a good friend, has been doing this for 40+ years and says the 45s will give us more flexibility. Initially, he will essentially detune them and then we can open them up if I add a hotter cam. The fine tuning happens next week so I'll get to experience it for myself soon. I'm almost as excited about adding Pertronix, which went in at the same time, because the points kept closing and I was suffering hesitation issues as a result. We're also going to try some headers as early as next week. I know that most 2002 headers don't fit NK cars but I have access to a Supersprint set which I think can be made to work. My center resonator is leaking so we're going to try going from the headers straight back to my newish OEM rear muffler. More updates soon!
