  1. Need an ignition lock cylinder with keys if you have it. Or if you have an ignition lock cyl and door locks with all the same keys I’m interested too

  3. Noticed more vibration over the years, but she is a daily driver so tough to tell since im in it every day. Compression is getting lower and blow by getting higher....time to freshen that S14 I have and bite the bullet on the resto...just seemed odd, the loosened items all happened in the last 2 months and I have been daily driving it since 2013. The fuel pump loosening was the one that threw me...
  4. Just wondering if anyone else has had their fuel pump, intake, exhaust manifold, alternator bolt, ect....vibrate loose/off...not feeling anything noticeably different. Has IE poly mounts, but that should not matter
  5. How much for the front hubs shipped to the bay area 94551?
  6. They should have put a turbo against a turbo....same result likely but at least apples to apples
  7. All gauges are a heads up display in the helmet....that would look funny in traffic...a society of "stigs" on the road!
  8. make sure your hoses are the proper size too, that will have some effect on a system that is minimal from the start. Just got mine going again and I get ~42 degree output but the car was repainted by the PO black...and 90- 95 in TX it good, over 95 it will keep you from sweating, under 90, it will freeze you out. It would probably do better with a different venting system but thats my next project...
  9. by hoses do you mean the fittings for your gauges or the actual hoses? You should have a mix of #6, #8, and #10 hoses
  10. Can you see the back side of your compressor to check which line is on the Suction or "S" side and which one is on the Discharge or "D side? Mine is different (Clardy) but mine goes this route: "D" side of the compressor has the high side fitting That hose goes to the top of the parallel flow condenser from the bottom of the condenser to the receiver dryer from the receiver dryer to the evaporator from the evaporator to the "S" side of the compressor with the low side fitting but from your diagram that should be the low side, is the compressor coming on? did you check to make sure the fan is not wired backwards and not pushing air in the correct direction? The only other think I can think of is your expansion valve sticking but usually that causes a real low, low side reading
  11. There was a guy on the bimmerforums http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2197052-Parting-an-1983-320is-everything-available that had one, not sure if its still available
  12. Good morning everyone, I'm about to dig into this issue this weekend but I am wondering if someone has had something similar happen. This has been going on a while and not that my AC is working it is more pronounced with the windows shut. When driving down the highway (even the back roads at 30ish mph) I will get a bearing style noise...but only if I just turn the steering wheel to the right ever so slightly. I have replaced the front bearings recently and re-checked them the other day and they do not appear to be he cause. Has anyone had any other issues similar to this?
  13. if you have not pulled the sender in the tank yet, I would. Mine had a lot of rust flakes in it and clogged the screen. easy to pull, just disconnect the hoses and level wire then turn CCW and it will pop out. Also replace the gasket.. dealers usually still have them in stock as the modern 3 series uses the same one.
  14. Just talked to my supplier, he said the leak from that area is very common.
  15. External. pressurized the system and sprayed everything with soapy water, looks like the front of the case by one of the mount ears where the front bearing plate bolts together, but I will confirm the exact location when I pull it off tonight. Oh and for those of us with Clardy systems we are lucky, we can get evaporators. The ICE units are a recreation of the Clardy units, and they will sell their evaporators.
  16. Found it, compressor itself has a leak...oh well, guess it will be a new compressor and dryer again...
  17. I'm getting my A/C going again and I'm having a strange problem. I cannot hold vacuum, but if I pressurize the system and spray the whole thing down with soapy water, I get no bubbles anywhere.....I have been doing this a long time and never seen this before. My system is a Clardy with a sankey (Sanden) compressor and everything other than the evaporator is new. If I was not going to run R-12 I would just dye and charge it (which I may have to do anyway) but have any of you had something similar happen. Going to try pressurizing it again tonight.
  18. Yes, sankyo, sorry for the error. It looks just like a sanden. Thanks for the replies, it's under vacuum now.
  19. Sanky is basically the same as sanden, but not changing that. Question on amounts is for hoses, cond, and rec/drier
  20. I am refreshing my clardy system and have a few questions. Here is what I have: 1. New condenser 2. All new hoses, all o-ring 3. New receiver dryer 4. Has sanky compressor 5. Staying r12 Here are my questions 1. Ester or mineral oil and how much 2. It is ~2lb for a clardy sys? Any help appreciated, been too long Chris
  21. Well, I cheated....since that whole thing was keeping me up at night, I had an Idea....why not dye the original black....It came out OK and looks better than the original shredded plastic POS that was in there, so it will do for now. And yes, I did not paint under the seats....
  22. yup its toast, anything that would take that off is more work than it's worth. I'm going to throw it back in just so I have something (the rubber mats conceal most of it anyway) until I can save up the cash for a new one from Esty. Thanks All
  23. Well, I started this morning pulling off the Recaros, to fully expose the plastic fibre black carpet the PO installed over the blue/grey original. It may have been a little rough but as you can see from the photos the black POS was not an improvement... Well, I am going to try some "goof off" to see if it breaks up the glue. But if it does not I may be riding racing style for a while and leave them both out until I can afford a new one from Esty. 2 questions, What are the thoughts on that cardboard sound deadener? leave it or pull it? Esty, what color do you have that matches this.
