  2. I thought this thread would solve my problem, but I'm still not clear on the door switch wiring for the dome light. My car is a '72 sunroof. As shown in the picture below, the driver's door has 3 wires going to 2 spades (the original switch was mashed so I don't know how it worked). The passenger door has 1 wire to 1 spade. So far I've installed a new 1-spade switch on the passenger door and it works (light goes off when button is pressed). I don't know what to do with the 3 wires and 2 spades on the driver's door - my new switch only has one spade. Do I need a different switch (part number??) or can my 1-spade switch be used by ignoring some of the 3 wires? ALSO, each door has a hole in the door jam opposite the switch (see picture of driver's door below). When the door closes the button goes into the hole and it is not depressed. For example, my passenger door works when I press the button manually, but doesn't work when I close the door. Are these holes in the door jams supposed to have some sort of plug so that they will depress the door switch when the door closes? Any help in clearing this up would be much appreciated.
  3. Do you still have these panels?? Thanks.
  4. Does anyone know the size of the bolts that secure under dash panel #1 above (knee pad under steering wheel). I assume all four bolts are the same size? Thanks
  5. Please contact me. Thanks - John jwadle47@gmail.com
  6. I know your posting was a long time ago, but if you still have the 2002tii water pump, I'm interested. If so, can you reply with the part number?
  7. This set of fiberglass kick panels for installation of low-profile front speakers was purchased from forum member eurotrash who makes them. They have never been installed and are brand new. You can find more details and pics of the panels in his earlier post: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/87736-sub-enclosure-speaker-kick-panelsesty-carpet-integrat/ This sale is for front panels only. No sub enclosure, no carpet. $150 shipped within USA. $150 plus shipping elsewhere. Location: Boulder CO
  8. Can anyone suggest a constant 12V source near the dash for a new radio installation? New radio requires both constant and switched power sources and I can use the switched power wire from the old radio. Thanks.
  9. I friend of mine who is knowledgeable about old BMWs told me that the center strip on the black rubber windshield gasket on my '72 2002 should be (silver) aluminum. On my car, this strip is black on both the windshield and rear window (see pic below). Is this correct?
  10. Need orginal amber (green?) fog light button for my '72 2002tii. Location: Boulder CO
  11. WTB: Under dash panels, part numbers 51451825795 and 51451826393 Location: Boulder CO
  12. Any recommendations for an adhesive to use on new under hood/trunk pads? Thanks
  13. Anyone have a diagram or list of the under dash panels on a '72 2002tii? I think my car is missing a few (e.g. under steering wheel) and don't know what to look for. Thanks
  14. Alpina or rep front air dam (square hole) Front and rear ALPINA emblems ALPINA wheel center caps (45mm)
  15. I am restoring a '72 2002tii and want to know what front and rear spoilers (if any) were/are available from the factory or aftermarket for this car? The pics I have seen of front spoilers show removal of the front bumper. Do all spoilers require that? Any information or pictures very much appreciated. BTW - I have a set of original black front seats w/headrests in good condition. Free for pickup in Colorado.
  16. Pair of OEM front seats from my '72 2002tii. Black vinyl in good condition with no major tears. Probably need restuffing. Free for pickup in Boulder CO. Please don't ask me to ship them, even if you are paying.
  17. Registry site seems not to be responding.
  18. Thanks for all the input and ideas. Since there seesm to be no clear standard for a 2002 rear fog switch, I've decided to use separate switches the front and rear fogs. Living in Boulder, we often have heavy fog coming off the foothills of the Rockies and fog lights are very helpful. However, in my experience, I use the rear fog light only in the heaviest fog to be seen from behind. I use the front fogs more often, e.g. in rain. My DD (VW R32 MkV) has front and rear fogs with separate pull out positions on the (Euro) switch for front and rear. I'm planning on using two lighted switches (amber front, red rear) replacing the dummy green button in my '72 2002tii. I'll post a pic when done.
  19. Any green fog light switches?
  20. Anyone know the correct location and type of switch for a rear fog light on a '72 2002?
  21. I found a new one online for $127 - half the OEM price. It it doesn't turn out to be real, I'll be in touch.
  22. Yes, those are one of two sizes for the OEM caps. Do you know where to get replacements?
  23. Anyone have a good solution for covering the rear end of the seat tracks to protect rear passengers? I understand the OEM plastic caps are NA. Thanks.
