  1. if these are the year range for the non-tii brake upgrade, i'll take them. send me a paypal invoice - ericjaromin (at) windstream.net thanks.
  2. Found quite a bit of it (thanks James). Still looking for: Early front bumper Both side grilles Steering column switches
  3. heard of them, and from what i remember they were pricey new - on par with a Hazet or other german quality tool... matco guy sold them i think... can't beat it for your purchase price...
  4. Just had a chance to get her up on a lift. Definitely not a tii. So, good thing is I can use the brake parts I already bought - the volvo calipers and e21 hubs and rotors.
  5. the wheels were left with him. and the tii is probably one of the 2 still sitting there... also has a turbo car under a tarp... he is looking for the title for mine... i call him on his cell a couple nights a week to remind him... lol
  6. Pic of the car before we freed it... I do have a "wtb" thread here for what I need : http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,374091/ I'm thinking it would honestly be better if I had non-tii strut housings, as I already have most parts for the conversion (calipers, bearings, pads).
  7. thanks guys. searched the vin, and it is coming up as just a 2002 - so i guess no tii. however, the car is supposedly from colorado - any chance it could be a canadian ti instead? and i'll get to measuring the spindles. i am also assuming the bolt spacing for the caliper is different as well on the housings?
  8. ok. yes, i've read the brake upgrade in the FAQ - http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/44/33/ however, i'm confused. maybe i'm overthinking it a bit too much... 1. i'm not sure if i have "regular" strut housings, or tii housings. guy i purchased the car from (Bobby at Strictly German in Braselton, GA) is still looking for the title, but says my car is a tii - but the vin plate does not say, as it just says 2002. it's a 1969 per the 2002 registry. how can i tell visually? or do i just need to measure spindles? 2. as per the faq, the setup is different for the tii/non-tii - different calipers, different year hubs (from what it says, but same car???) and likely different bearings. question is, i thought that tii calipers could fit a non-tii car??? and what makes 77-79 vs 81-83 hubs different? 3. can i do the volvo calipers (already have them) and the e21 hubs/rotors from a 77 on a tii and a non-tii? if yes, great. if no, why not? 4. what advantage if any are the tii vs non-tii housings? car will be a weekend driver and sometimes track toy. 5. if it turns out i have tii strut housings, anyone want to trade for non-tii housings? - TBD later... 6. if the car isn't a tii, but instead a ti - will the non-tii method work? sorry for the noob questions, but i am trying to get everything sourced before i dive into this car as a project... thanks!
  9. looks great! did you use the engine/dash harness from the s2k for everything?
  10. looks great andrew! care to elaborate on how to fit the e30 strut housings to the 2002? how are they modified? you using e30 brakes as well, or the 2002 with some sort of hub/bearing adaptation? thanks!
  11. in because i will have to do this as well down the road...
  12. can't email from the school email using that link - it just opens a window. however, my school/work email is eric.jaromin@barrow.k12.ga.us and here's a link to the staff page, just in case... http://www.barrow.k12.ga.us/wbhs/facultystaff/html/eric_jaromin.html
  13. ALL PARTS NEEDED ARE FOR A 1969 BMW 2002 i am on a budget, and not looking to do a concours restoration by any means. i am simply a high school auto teacher having my classes restore a '69 2002. i'm looking for the following: front grille - complete turn signal switch/stalk wiper switch/stalk top steering column cover (covers switches and column, i have the bottom) badges front and rear all trim pieces (hood, trunk, beltline, rockers) sun visor retaining clips - both sides wiper arms - both mirrors - both sides front early bumper anything unique or interesting... all parts will need to be shipped to zip 30680 or 30533 (GA, figure that in for shipping) again, good functional and easily refurbed pieces are appreciated. if you are generous enough to feel like donating any items, you can request a tax donation form for your records... http://www.barrow.k12.ga.us/wbhs/facultystaff/html/eric_jaromin.html otherwise, remember i'm on a budget... not looking for handouts, but i'm not paying top ebay dollar for parts. this project is coming out of my pocket. thanks!
  14. I appreciate the offer, but I bought a 2002 that was in better shape for the same money. Plus the 2002 has air con as well. So no more interchange issues.
  15. Care to elaborate on the mods you have done? Where was it sourced from? Etc... Thanks
  16. engine brackets, etc are not of concern, as what i have planned will require custom work anyway... is the 2002 subframe and suspension relatively bolt in? i have read that the strut bodies are shorter, but that vw rabbit struts can be used (great, as i'm an old vw guy). my only concerns are sourcing body panels for an 1800 ti (where?) and upgrading the brakes for track use...
  17. Yes I'm getting it fairly cheaply. It is complete minus drivetrain. Are there any models that interchange parts with the 1800 ti?
  18. i'm considering picking up a 64 1800 ti and have some major concerns/questions regarding restoration and performance modification. 1. do any body panels interchange between the 1800 and 2002? namely the hood and trunk lid? 2. i'm looking to rebuild the suspension to a perfromance oriented trim (run nasa events). i've seen that the 2002 subframe swaps over and has more available parts. or, is the 1800 suspension the same and upgradeable with easily sourced parts? 3. brake upgrades - any master cylinders that can be made to work in an 1800? disc brake upgrades for the front? disc brake conversion for the rear? thanks for any input. this is my first forray into vintage bmw's.
