About clr2002

  1. Looking for a double barrell intake manifold. Please let me know what you have. Thanks. Location: Texas
  2. Hi, I'm interested in a set of side mirrors (L&R) and do you have arm rests for both driver and passenger side? Shipping is to 78133. Thanks.
  3. Are these still available?
  4. Thanks for the info. I will check them out. I recently took the driveshaft in for repair. Both of the U-Joints needed to be replaced, and as I didn't have the right tools for this job, I figured this would be a job best left for the pros. Now I'm doubting their competance. After installing the driveshaft, there is a very pronounced vibration around 3500rpm. They painted everything to make it look pretty, and upon closer inspection, I saw that they spot welded the caps on for the u-joints. First off: Is welding the u-joints like that bad? And would that cause vibration or is it because they didn't align the shaft right when they reassembled it? I've taken apart the shaft on my e30 and replaced the center bearing, but never replaced U-Joints. It's not difficult aligning it back up. I have to believe a trained mechanic would know what to do. Any thoughts? I'm about ready to just say screw it, and buy a refurb like one from Ireland.
  5. Is there anyone here in the Austin area that knows a good, and reasonably priced shop in the austin area that does drive shaft balancing? Any help would be great! Thanks.
  6. Sent email for armrests, rear logo and script.
  7. thank you so much for bring this little cost-saving tidbit to light.... now i can toss my stash of cracked, faded and crazed spares away. Well said! This is a great relief! We are talking about this part right?
  8. I had no idea they were all universal, but I guess that does make perfect sense.
  9. Anyone know any good parts sites to obtain new gaskets for the rear tail light assemblies, and new license plate light housings? It's got roundies. I have tired a few websites, especially the ones I go to for my e30, so far, ebay is one of the only places I have seen Hella lic. plate lights. they go for $80 for the pair. That seems a little high to me. Nothing for tail lights. Also, taking out the lenses to clean them revealed gaskets that looked more like sea sponges. I'd rather not use silicone to weather proof the lenses if possible. Thanks.
  10. I have those holes there in that same exact location. It helps to not have interior panels in the back. For now, thats where the location will be. Any ideas on where to get the hardware? Or is this a body shop/mechanic specific thing?
  11. By the looks of the Schroth rallye 3, it looks like they just bolt into existing locations. I wanted something that is functional (safe), legal, clean and very sporty. I think I'll be going with the c-pillar option as seen in c.d.iesel's picture above, but have it reinforced as much as possible.
  12. If this is the case, I'm very curious to double check. I don't have the rear interior panel on the car, and I do not remember seeing any holes that would accept a bolt. I'm also a little confused as to how a 3 point or 4 point "harness" would allow submarining, but a factor 2 point or 3 point lap belt would not? I always seem to see the argument against the harnesses, but not against the factory belts. Any ideas why fewer points make for more safety? Would it be b/c the harness holds the upper body so well that since the lower body has nothing holding it in place, like a 5 or 6 point, the body travels along the path of least resistance which happens to be out from under the harness? I will be getting my 02' inspected hopefully on monday. With any luck I'll be able to take it to a shop where I can get some more insight into having the bosses welded in. Thanks for the input everyone! This is a great forum.
  13. Thanks for the great info and pics! I'm gonna grab it from BMPDesign, it's slightly less expensive there. The head liner is in bad shape on the c-pillars, I can always have a look see. I have just a lap belt in there now. I do not recall seeing any other mounting locations, not even for rear seat belts.
  14. Hello all! I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a 69' 2002. The PO had installed e30 recaros. I am interested in putting something a little safer in for the time being. The car currently has only lap belts, and the seats are secured with one bolt and a D clamp. Whoo hoo for safety! I'm looking to see if anyone has any experience with a 3 point harness like the Schroth rallye 3, and where the best mounting point for the top of the harness would be? The harness would be used in conjunction with a seat like this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1130L/ Any help would be great!
