  1. 85,600 miles 4 speed manual Runs, drives, and stops well I've owned this roundie for a bit less than three years and put very few miles on it. It's been trouble-free, but I don't drive it often enough, and it's time to find it a new home. I've taken in on a couple of short rallies and I've never had any problems with this car. More photos. A previous owner undertook restoration of the car. All the glass and rubber were removed, rusted areas repaired, and then the car was painted the current (not factory) color. The car's original color was Golf Yellow and it's peeking through the respray in places, mostly in the trunk and under the hood. During the restoration, a section of the floor panel was repaired, having rusted through. The brake master cylinder was replaced. Replacement headlight buckets and mirrors were installed. Door cards and weather barriers were replaced. The suspension was fully refurbished during the restoration. The transmission was rebuilt and upgraded with a 320i transmission mount. Photos and some documentation of the restoration can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rp45fmsjg9yeacs/BMW2002Restoration.zip?dl=0 The car runs well and pulls strong. The engine does drip some oil when parked, less so when driven regularly. The transmission shifts well in all gears, with the occasional clunk downshifting into 2nd. The speedometer reads about 10% lower than actual speed. The suspension is stock, but was renewed during the restoration. The car is fitted with Recaro seats from a BMW 320i. The bottom cushions are sagging. The original seats come with the car and are in good condition. The rear seats have modern 3-point retractable belts installed. The original rear lap belts come with the car. The rear seat vinyl has cracks on the top of the backrest. The original steering wheel has been replaced with a Nardi model. I don't have the original steering wheel. The headliner is intact, but is somewhat cracked near the aftermarket sunroof. The dashboard has cracks. The rear deck was modified for a 3rd brake light and the card that sits atop the panel has a hole cut in it. The door cards, interior panels, and carpet all look great. There is an AM/FM cassette radio installed, but it's not connected. There are no speakers in the car. The car has the original 13" wheels (including a spare) and hubcaps. The tires have plenty of tread, but are starting to show cracks on the sidewall. An aftermarket sunroof was installed at some point before the restoration. It was replaced recently since it had a leak and a replacement seal was not available. The only obvious exterior blemish is a quarter-size ding on the front bumper near the license plate. The only rust I'm aware of on the car is in the spare tire well. It's been garaged the entire time I've owned it and has been in California since it was bought in Van Nuys. I have the owner's manual, BMW service booklet, and even the salesman's card. $8,000 OBO Stephan 415-846-6392 Location: San Francisco Year: 1972 Make: BMW Model: 2002 Body and Interior: Stock with 320i seats, original seats come with car.
