  1. It's been a long time i know. This year is already running away from me and the car hasn't been action for 6 months. Now i've switched over to E85 and looking to start getting the most out of it.
  2. Final stages in photography (Poor quality images, sorry) Next is off for a wheel alignment, then finish the bodywork with flares and paint.
  3. I know it's been nearly a year since the last update, but I have good news to share. The last photo is a teaser, but i'll fill in the blanks later this week.
  4. That's a real shame mate, hope things turn around for you. I look forward to seeing your next project when things pick up.
  5. Kick ass build mate, love your "Can do" approach.
  6. Trying to do a very quick update on the new (not-so-new-now) looking site. Main body shell now finished repairing and all painted in Primer New Aluminium Qtr cards and door cards made. Still deciding whether to get them anodized black or not. Fuel cell mount to fit inside spare wheel well. Finally decided to get it back on all 4, and take it outside. Engine bay is the first sign of the finalised choice of colour. Evoke (Ford AUS), but body shell will still be satin/matte finish. Finished the new fuel lines and brake lines, and now waiting for all of the AN fitting from Summit to arrive before finishing that stage. Started laying out the new wiring loom and getting ready for that next "fun" adventure. Next I will be starting to tear down the Nissan S14 S1 200sx, to remove the SR20DET and other assortments. Most of which will get and clean up before fitting. Then it might look some what like a car again Cheers.
  7. Not sure if you got my email. I have the CAD file ready for the 3 axis. Sent from my MZ604 using Tapatalk HD
  8. Not sure if you're interested, but the new badge version 2.0 arrived this week. Its far from perfect, but its getting there.
  9. Thanks mate, yeah i hope it all worth it in the end. 50 off set was needed to squeeze the rears inside the flares. That caused an issue up front hitting the big nissan calipers. So the fronts have 12mm bolt on spacers. Clearance lock to lock is fine because I'm using the complete Nissan front xmember/steering rack/struts. 17's have always been pushing the limit, but it gives the look i want, and it works now after hours of research and trial fitting dozens of rims. WHP? in the donor car is currently 249 rwhp @ 14psi. Which will jump up once the transplant is done. E85, new injectors, b/bearing turbo and Haltech ecu. Most of which i hope to change and test in the donor before transplanting over. I have a room full of new parts patiently waiting to be fitted. :-) How's your weapon coming along? I was having a look last night and guessing that you'll probably shredding tyres before me! I am hoping for August/September.... better be before Xmas or I'll not be a happy camper.
  10. No side pipe, centre is my preferene. I've always liked the centre look on '02s, which was the main motivation to do the rear apron flat.
  11. 100% right decision to run a surge tank for drifting when using a fuel cell or standard tank alike IMHO. It is such cheap insurance.
  12. True enough, here's the finished result all done and covered in etch primer. Found wheels with the correct offset in 17"x7" +50 from a Honda Accord Started the repair to the sunroof delete repair. More images to follow later.
  13. Looking great mate, keep up the pace and you'll be shreading tyres real soon!
  14. Any updates for us??? Please, having withdrawls.
  15. Jace, Have you managed to get a hold of an Automatic badge yet?
  16. Cheers :-) They are not my first choice, but they will do for the short term. They were from E30, and they are plastic, not fibre glass.
  17. I have been trying to get a list together, but pm me and ill be happy to help go through some of the headaches.
  18. Any other Aussie users know anyone that has a similar body kit mould like this pictured below?
  19. Are you intending to just put the SR into your '02, or complete suspension and driveline? Is your intention to drive on the streets registered, or for track only use? Our cars here in Oz, are RHD, which will cause a new set of issues that i haven't had to deal with. Happy to help if possible, which ever direction you are thinking of. "It is not worth it." Time will tell for me, but it has been worth it so far. I am yet to drive it though, it could be an epic fail. I have undertaken this build just to have something unique. People may argue that its unique..ness, is BAD or GOOD. Either way i will persist and tweak until i am happy with it.
  20. Wow! An AE86 with an SR, and an 02 ute. There's a couple of interesting builds! Great progress, Gretchen is going to be a real stunner when she's finished.
  21. More updates after a long break during the festive, i have finally regained some motivation. New centre console 1st attempt for making custom 2002 badge, went horribly wrong. As someone else mentioned... looks more like a Ferrari badge!!! Have finished chopping into the rear qtrs to fit the temporary flares. Will also be ready for wide body kit, once i decide which style i prefer. Boot lid lock pin plates. Still a long way from being ready for paint. But did a test for the preferred Satin Black look, and thinking it will be the right choice. Not being a panel beater, this has been the most ambitious decision i have made to date... fill in the rear bar groove, plus change exhaust cut out to the centre. I just don't like the look of the rear without the bar, and hope that this decision to fill it in, won't haunt me for ever. So far, i'm happy with the outcome... time will tell... Dare I ask for anyones feedback???
  22. Any chance of posting a link? We don't get the magazine in Australia. I don't have a link, but if you've got something going out from the shop here (IreEng), I'll put the copy in the box. Thanks. I ordered a copy direct from them. On its way here now.
  23. Good first attempt, but it's probably going to require a 3 axis CNC mill to achieve a truly OEM look. I think I know someone who may be able to do this? Luckily because its family, they are being made for me for love. Cnc would be ideal... but expensive.
  24. The first attempt at making the new rear badge has been a little lost in design... a newer attempt will be done soon.
