  1. Thanks Jim! Don't let the lighting fool you, the whole car is still different shades of inka and rustoleum. The flares were done with rustoleum "real orange" I think with clear coat on them they would actually be near identical to inka!
  2. It's a tad narrow, I think they say you shouldn't go smaller than 205ish. It is stretched a taaad, but not VW stanced out stupid stretch where it will pop off the bead. My autox tires are 215/50/13 on zero offset wheels. With sticky v710's it is definitely quite an increase in steering effort at low speeds. I didn't notice much of an increase with the xxr's though. I seriously can't stop smiling about how she looks
  3. LOL! xxr's are just knock off ebay wheels, I think I paid $350 for them?? Thanks CD!
  4. Super excited about this. It's just a quickie spray paint job. But the body isnt in great condition. Wheels are xxr 002 15x8 zero offset with 195/50's. IE stage 2 springs with half coil cut in front (needs another half cut off) Waddya think? Keep in mind this was a $500 car
  5. er else what? you just wait till I get down there
  6. Gonna get someone to cover me at work and I will be there
  7. I have one in good shape, however I am clueless on what they are worth. How much are you looking to spend? You can email me if you like
  8. anybody have a set of turbo or other flares laying around? There was a used set posted a couple months ago for $100 but I was too late. Looking for similar deals... Cheers, -Tom
  9. +1 for dry ice. I tried a heat gun and it made a huge mess for me. The dry ice was straight-forward. Let it sit and hit the tar with a hammer. Dry ice can be had much easier than you think, I actually got mine from a drive thru about 3 miles from my house. Just google it, you'll find some.
  10. I need a tach that will work in a 75...
  11. Sent an email yesterday, did you get it?
  12. Welcome Steve! Here's a link for how to add pictures-it can be found stickied in the For Sale section. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,364661/ Sounds like you have the car planned out pretty well. Tons of info on here and willing members to help you out. The turbo air damn will have plenty of clearance with 1.5" springs. What is the offset/width on the 13's you have? That will determine if you can run them with flares (and not look goofy). You'll need a wide wheel/low offset to fill them out, and a 6" wide wheel with 205's won't quite do the job. Good luck-looking forward to seeing pictures. Cheers, -Tom
  13. That must be a Dayton thing Mike, my 75 also has a Midas muffler that was put on in I believe 84. I was flipping through the receipts that came with the car and there was a lifetime warranty certificate in there for it! I took it off to put on the Ansa, but it looks good as new!
  14. Thank you for your honesty Scott. Stuff happens and it has been a busy few weeks for everyone. Good luck with your apprenticeship and happy 02'ing. -Tom
  15. Just sent another email to Scott asking for my money back and stating if i dont recieve my money or a tracking number by saturday i will make a claim with paypal...
  16. Yep I got the same exact story about his girlfriend shipping the 31st and sending me a tracking number, and haven't been able to get a reply yet.
  17. I don't know how many of you have seen this, but I wanted to share because I'm sure there are quite a few of you who need paint, but don't have the funds for a legitimate spray job, and don't want to waste the money on a cheapie Maco job (like me). This would be perfect for autocross/track cars or even just daily drivers. http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?40341-My-quot-rustoleum-50-roll-on-paint-job-quot http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/body/hrdp_0707_1962_ford_falcon_budget_paint_job/ Cheers, -Tom (Thanks Eurotrash for planting the seed in my head)
  18. I don't have the Ireland dizzy, but my non-tii 75 has a tii 002 distributor in it. Works great! I don't know what the benefit of mechanical advance over vacuum advance is (if any) but I'm sure someone will chime in. -Tom
  19. Are the flares sold? Could you get a shipping quote for the tires to 45371 if you would be willing to ship them? Also, not to thread jack, but could you give me any info on the roll bar-brand, etc? I like it. Thanks! -Tom
