  2. I'm interested in '73 engine for my project...Dave Y. should be contacting you about it but thought I'd check in... I'm in Springfield...would like to take it off your hands if we can get in touch... Thanks Luke

  6. Interested in radiator. Shipping to 62704? I could paypal you or just let me know. My original radiator is a AFU so this is on my list. Thanks, Luke
  7. PO said he pulled backed it into garage, parked it for winter....last paperwork I saw was dated 1990 so I'd guess some time thereabouts. I'll try to do the 30mm on harmonic balancer... Thanks.
  8. I just picked this up last week, and have used two bottles of Marvels Mystery Oil...and have recenltly resorted to a squirt or two of PB Blaster penetrating oil. Lightly rocking car in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th...Still won't turn over. So what's the next logical step? Plan to pull valve cover gasket & lube liberally as necessary... Would main seals be an issue? thanks, appreciate the help. Luke
  9. It is pretty clean, there's some small surface corrosion, spot up front, small spots along trim on rear deck lid (seen in pics), nothing bubbling or through metal but displaced or lost paint. I'm going to take my time or I'm gonna try, but I know how hard that is when the road starts calling. I'm just hoping the trailer ride in gear didn't screw anything up. If it did, I hope there's a Bentleys manual available.
  10. I'm thinking that I'll have to do the brake work soon as I feel the same resistance gently trying to rock the car in 3rd or 4th as I feel with it in neutral. I took a peek and the front discs look rough...thinking the drums are likely worse. Even though I had another '73 I'll likely ask lots of questions if I can't find answers on the faq or with searches.
  11. Well, i got her home. Had some issues with a borrowed trailer but, after some work and pain, i can at least get to work. I'll have to rename the subject header as a garage find...was in his garage but i didn't know until later... Turkey baster from Wal-Mart worked well except for cylinder # 1. Also, after I got her home, I discovered that my bro did one last thing after we'd loaded the trailer and got set to travel...hed put it in gear. I'm hoping it didn't screw anything up. Motor still appears to be locked so that's a plus.
  12. Thanks guys! I'll post pics as soon as I can figure out the process. I see a few late nights in my future. Plan to syphon old fuel. So what I'm doing is this: check belts/hoses, especially those relative to injection pump, MM cylinders. As for the inj pump, prime it / gravity feed with injector cleaner. Sound like as soon as the motor breaks free, I could try. Worked on F/A-18s @ China Lake...20+ years ago. Thanks, Luke[/img]
  13. Ok...gravity feed kfisch from fuel inlet?...or where? Should also ultrasonic the injectors?
  14. So a mixture of ATF & Marvel...gotta ask, is that a 50/50 mix? Don't know if it matters much, as long as it penetrates, right? Plan to start tonight, fis/ repair brakes whole I'm waiting for the penetrant to do it's thing. I was never intimidated by $30mil aircraft or the toughest hooker (rugby hooker that is)...but that Kfisch does it. Without a thorough grasp of exactly how it works, an illustrated parts breakdown AND knowledge that I won't fubar it...I'll leave it alone. Thanks
  15. Previously owned a '73 carburated which, thanks to some from this and other 2002 sites, I brought back from very poor condition only to lose her in a structure fire. I thought I'd ask the experts about the differences specific to Tiis though. Now to the good stuff...found a '73 Tii, unmolested, that has been stored for around 20 years. Engine & brakes seized. (Pics coming). Silver in color (I'm sure there's a BMW specific color name) Other than unsiezing parts, what do I have to look at? Are there any Kfisch parts breakdown illustrations around. Any links to useful info would be greatly appreciated as will any assistance. Thanks guys, Luke
