  1. I was the seller and indeed, I posted a painfully honest description. I treat people fairly as I would want. The buyer/present owner seemed to be a very nice man. A lot has been done to the car since it was mine.
  2. Here is a link. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-bmw-2002-tii-2/ No doubt, a nice car. It makes me wonder what a bone stock factory '02tii roundie would bring? Pushes me one step closer to a concours resto of my '72 tii.
  3. I'm looking for an unrestored original oil filler cap for 1972 2002. I need it to be aged, not polished, similar to the one in this photo. thanks!
  4. Are you sure? Are you sure they are not reprints? I saw them but figured they were reprints?
  5. Looking for NOS or excellent condition ORIGINAL books, tools, tool roll and jack for 1972 tii. Thanks! Uro
  6. Hi Guys! I bought a 1972 2002tii last fall. I'm just now getting around to correcting it's faults. The color combo is very odd. It is Atlantik blue with tan seats, tan door skins but gray carpet! The carpet looks OEM, in good shape. So, does anyone know if any of these cars came with tan upholstery but gray rugs? Thanks!
  7. Hi folks. I just bought a 1972 02 that is missing its chrome drip moulding on each side of the car. I bought new moulding but it's not obvious how to attach it. Do you braze it on? Use adhesive? Thanks!
  8. Thanks or the kind words. Hope to see you at The Vintage.
  9. Thanks or the kind words. Hope to see you at The Vintage.
  10. We were parked on the main road at the show, up the hill from the Spaten Tent, on the other side. Man, it was hot! Here are some pics of Golfie
  11. Thanks to all for your kind words. We actually took the car to The Vintage last year and likely will do the same this year. Seriously, Rachel is a car NUT! If you read the article, it alluded to the replacement for Rachel's 1975 Golf colored 2002, either English or Italian. Well, we got it! :)
  12. Oh, wow, I didn't see that! Thanks for the heads up!
  13. . . . She has 4 pages in the May 2013 Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car, beginning on page 38. Proud of her, she does love '02s. . . .
  14. Thanks for the head's up!
  15. WTB wiper arm for 1975 BMW 2002. I believe the sides are interchangeable. Please email this address BUT REMOVE THE 3 Xs.
  16. Thanks for all the info so far. I'm stiff a bit foggy on the preload. If you don't take the bearing off the shaft do you have to preload or do you put it back exactly as you found it? In other words if the bearing is not replaced.
  17. Hi guys. I have read everything I can find about replacing my failed guibo in my 1975 '02. I still am not clear on several points. 1. After I remove the 8 old bolts, can the shaft just slide rearward far enough to disengage or must I remove the center support? 2. Upon reassembly, how in the world do you get the torque correct if a torque wrench will not fit? 3. What is the proper torque anyway? 4. I will use new bolts, nuts and lock washers, are there any other parts I need to buy new, besides the guibo, of course? 5. Once the shaft slides rearward, do I need to disassemble the interior components in order to lube with high temp moly? 6. I am completely lost in how/why/if you need to "preload" the center bearing. This might be my biggest question, the preload thing. Thanks fellas, I appreciate any help!
  18. Enjoyed the show tremendously. This was my first year, I took my 1970 Nevada 2002. What company it had! Maybe 100 '02s, about 10 CSs of various sorts, 3, maybe 4 Tourings, 3 Isettas (the two above plus a limo), a lovely 1600 cab, the cleanest 325i I have ever seen, and much more. Lovely weather a bit on the warm side but plenty of shade and a breeze..off and on. For lunch, a 'Dog for Dogs', cute little weiner dogs there as a visual aid... Oh, and FREE BEER! Full 1/2 liter pours of Spaten and a free Spaten glass better than any beer glass I own. Not to mention the free T-Shirt. Sweet little Spaten-Girls talking beer to a bunch of old guys...hope they were paid well! I saw my friend Terry Shea who was shooting the event for Hemming's Exotic and Sports Car magazine. They are certain to feature some of the great cars in future editions. What a great event. I hope to make a 4 day trip of it next year. Does anyone know if it will be in the same place next year and the dates? I suspect the B&Bs go quickly.
  19. Is the valve cover supposed to be painted or are they just aluminum? I always thought they were simply aluminum, not painted?
  20. Touchy subject - If we're not careful with the tone, somebody's going to get stabbed in the face with a soldering iron. I'm so immature....one of the best movies EVER!
