  1. I am selling my 2002 I just don't have the time or space to work on it myself. Being not very mechanically inclined or knowledgeable, I've ended up paying a mechanic a lot of money to work on it for me. It's a great car, it was my only car and daily driver all last year. I'm not sure about how to price it though - I think the price is fair at least if I was going to buy one. Here is the ad on KSL for pictures and more info: http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/14190834
  2. SLC 02er checking in. It's my only car
  3. I took mine to Andre's restoration recently and would recommend him.
  4. I'm in downtown SLC. That looks great! I'm not happy with the previous owner's carpet kit installation, would love to check that one out.
  5. Ha, pretty sure my car won't make it up Parley's
  6. I'm interested. I have seatbelts that work 'OK' but have the Volkswagon logo on them. No idea where they came from. How much to ship to Salt Lake City?
  7. Email sent. I suck at reading. EDIT: bought the knee pad and ashtray
  8. Awesome. Can you ship to Salt Lake City? kentsmith@gmail.com
  9. I just bought a Charmonix '72 2002 and live downtown SLC. I've driven past an orange (Inka?) 2002 parked in a driveway in the Sugarhouse area lately. I literally pulled over and ogled it, I swear I wasn't casing the joint! Anyone recommend a knowledgeable 2002 mechanic? I have mine at Alex's Autohaus and they seem to be alright.

A little late, but thanks everybody for your help! I actually spent a little more time and found another 2002 that I liked a lot better. Needs a bit more work than this one, but I think it's the right one for me and my budget.

Yeah, after sleeping on it, I actually really want that car now. I just really need a mechanic to look at it for me. Anyone in the Boise area want to help out? I'll pay you

Thanks for all the great feedback and help. Checked it out today. There were just a few things off with it that is making me lean towards "no." Namely, the thought of getting a paint job, and the price. If it was painted, I probably would've bought it. I'll probably change my mind a million times this week. I couldn't find any major rust problems, although it was dripping a little bit of oil. The engine sounded great, started right up. No weird noises (besides me grinding a gear, whoops). It did have the round taillights, and the tailpipe in the center; is that right for that year? I just had an overall feeling that something else was up, and I didn't quite come prepared to fully look over the car. I did bring a print out of one of the articles in the FAQs, which helped. First time driving a 2002, and I am absolutely in love. Definitely decided I want one.

Not sure what color they were going for. I agree, the wheels are a bit too swank for it, but I dig them. By wrong dash, can you tell if it's from an older year or newer? Thanks!
  14. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=0&nid=443&tab=list/view&ad=4091673 Taking a look at this tomorrow, but does this sound like a decent price? Seems a tad high to me, but it looks like it is in fantastic condition. I don't know much about it, only talked to the wife of the owner on the phone. It's not a tii. Was/is used as a daily driver and no mechanical problems. The only negative is that it needs a paint job. Not sure of any upgrades or anything. I'm kind of in love with it already, though. Only been looking at old BMWs for a month or so.
