  1. My understanding is they’re sold out. I can’t imagine they sold 100 of them at that price but it’s back-ordered with no ETA last I checked.
  2. Here are some photos of one of them shared on the Facebook post they put up today. Obviously the newly available turbo is on the left. The one on the right was installed in a customers car, leading the poster to think the new turbo was wrong, which it does not appear to be.
  3. Price is about $10,000 USD. Not sure I can stomach that but may not have a choice.
  4. I have been looking since 2018 with no luck but it sounds like Oldenzaal has a good option that improves drivability.
  5. There was a car on BaT a year or so ago without the altitude compensator and it had documentation explaining the workaround done.
  6. I bought one from a dude in Oregon that he said was German made and had his logo on it. Within a couple months of my doing that, it was announced they were available from BMW but I guess I should have been sure by now that’s not the case so sorry for assuming.
  7. The tii/turbo pump is different than the carbureted 2002 pump. Instead of inlet and outlet being 180° apart like the standard pump, they’re 90° and they didn’t make nearly as many injected cars as they did carbureted. I believe you can still buy them from BMW. I think that if it was just turbo-specific, it probably wouldn’t be available, like so much mechanically on these cars.
  8. Thanks. I’ll talk to Carl since I’ll be seeing him soon. As far as I’m aware, the last time the engine ran was 1985 or so. I haven’t gotten it running since I bought the car. Briefly did some work on that towards making it run without the turbo just to see in mid 2020 but haven’t had time (also haven’t had much motivation) for that since.
  9. Well that’s really disappointing. The boot between the air cleaner and the turbo elbow is also shared with the E30 M3. Wonder if those owners are experiencing similar failures.
  10. Wow time flies. I bought a NOS manifold on an internet auction site shortly after this discovery was made. Here’s a few photos comparing that to the “original” one. I was planning to use that but I also need a turbocharger and despite buying some parts, spending some time on the fuel system trying to get the car ready to potentially run, not much has happened. I took my injectors to a couple diesel shops to get them cleaned and the one that used to do tii injectors for years was bought by Diesel Forward and now won’t do it and the other guy that said he’d try had them for a couple months and couldn’t test them, it’s been a shelf for a couple of years now (It does well at that. The trunk spoiler is very effective). Not sure what to do. I did buy one of these manifolds as well and looking at it I wasn’t sure how much meat would be left where the long studs go after boring it out to M10 but I’m glad to know it works with some adaptations. Plan is to use the Marsupial Group manifold and put the NOS one aside in case. Obviously this manifold doesn’t have provisions for the heat shield either, but that’s not a big deal. Guess I need to figure out a turbo solution that works but doesn’t cost as much as a 528e if such a thing even exists. Also would be nice if someone made the brackets that support the turbocharger itself.
  11. One finished today and here’s another. Obviously, not a ‘73 (that’s what the link says) and I am not sure about the claim of it being sold new in Japan since it doesn’t have the integrated flares. 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo 5-Speed BRINGATRAILER.COM Bid for the chance to own a 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo 5-Speed at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the...
  12. Oh ok. I checked your site first and only saw the early ones. Wasn't sure if they made later ones. I'll follow up thanks.
  13. I didn’t see the car when it was here at Mecum. There was someone asking about the car for a friend who was a registered bidder and I offered to inspect it but that didn’t go anywhere. I have seen the car in person previously in Monterey and the seams on the nose, sanding marks in the paint and of course the E21 steering wheel all stood out. I d don’t see this one eclipsing previous BaT sales. Previous sale was 143k at Gooding in 2017.
  14. Working on a ‘74 2002 automatic for a customer and fuel sender has several issues so looking for another in decent shape. Thanks!
  15. Oh this was the Mecum car that was here in AZ last year ok.
  16. Been a while since one has been posted. Should be interesting given what people are suggesting about the market.
  17. Forgive me for being slightly confused. Are you saying to use an oil that doesn't have the limited-slip additive? I have always used the redline 80-90 in my E28 diffs and always the one with the additive. There were so many reports of people having chattering and groaning going around corners and changing the fluid to one with the additive alleviated that, I never thought twice about that potentially being a negative. Interested in more info. Thanks!
  18. Those seats look like ASS. I’ll see myself out.
  19. First I’m sorry to hear that!! I think the one they offer is the same as the Ireland one. How bad is yours? Might be worth seeing if it could be repaired?
  20. Everything I have seen with “EB32G” has the red tag. All of the others seem to be blue.
  21. Have you attempted stretching the spring as shown in your last image? Wonder how long that actually lasts.
  22. I think they made changes as time went on as the last E21 wheel I had with the bare spokes had the later style expanded metal hub.
  23. Here's likely the best resource for converting the wheel to fit the '02. Good luck. Get off the bus! upgrade your '02's steering wheel. - Bay Area 02 WWW.BAYAREA02.COM One of the easiest low-cost upgrades for an ’02 is to replace the stock steering wheel with one from a later model 320i. It’ll only take an hour or two to do the whole installation. There are only two...
