    +1 for e30 318is, IMO the "most evolved" 2002 tii (same basic formula at least), before bmw switched directions with the e36.

    Sorry to hear it, been there before under different circumstances. Don't part it out.. All it needs is a new engine. If you can't, sell the car to someone who will save it by dropping in an engine. Hate to see people jump the "part it out" gun.

    Ran the crud out of the 02 last night with fallen 02 brethren in mind. Saw triple digits a handful of times, through three cities and three highways. Not a soul in sight, it was bliss. (Curt, radiator did its job well! Thank you.) -From Texas

    Been using redline 10w-40 for several oil changes, engine seems to run like silk and will take regular beatings from my lead foot without oil consumption. long term, we'll see.. Here we see moderate winters and 100 degree summers in TX, the oil grade seemed appropriate..

    Remember the autobahn was around in the 70's. Mine will do 100-105 willingly, 2002's will go 70-85 comfortably all day long, they were built for it.

    just some surface rust no big deal, drop a recycled engine & tranny, with some new tires and a windshield and I bet she'd go another 100k.
