  10. Good stuff Simon. I've always wanted to run the Targa. Been running backroads in Ontario and Quebec past couple of years instead. Roman
  11. Hi Simon: I'm looking for a stock set of rear springs. My 02 is sitting a little low in the rear someone cut the springs previously and I'd like to setup a stock ride height. Maybe I could buy your off of you. You could try talking to Andi at Bero Motors here in Toronto. He should be able to set you with your suspension rebuild. Roman
  12. Starting engine rebuild. 72tii engine. Summer teardown with my Dad or tat, as I call him in Ukrainian. Bought it 20 years ago and its been sitting in a crate since then. The old 73tii motor is wearing out. It takes 20 min to get warmed up. Starting to get a lot of blow by on hard acceleration, and the head is starting to burn the hot exhaust oil burn (blue smoke). Needless to say, people driving behind me are not appreciative. I'm hoping to do most of the work to this one before performing the swap minimizing driving down time. The engine has treated me very well. Originally bought my 73tii in San Diego. Driven to Toronto, Canada, has since been back to Vancouver, Portland, San Diego, New Mexico, North Carolina, Newfoundland, Maine. We have yet to travel to Goose Bay Labrador and Florida to hit 4 corners of the Continent. Here are a couple of shots... Had to include a pic of my 2 work vehicles. Really excited to have the Isuzu NPR added to the fleet! Roman
  13. Got it. Ya, it was a question of cost, but I need to check the condition of the cylinders and the ring land condition to see if its even worth going that route. Will see if I can post some pics soon. And thank you for the link to the search. I tried searching " cylinder inserts" and nothing came up. Not sure why. Roman
  14. Hello fellow Faq-ers, I'm in the midst of a 72tii engine tear down to replace my worn 73tii version. Its a bummer that the block numbers won't match the chassis anymore, but having a spare tii engine allows me to have a reduced downtime, when swapping the old one out. Presently I've stripped everything apart and have taken the block, pistons, crank, to the machinist to assess what is to spec and what needs machining. Cylinder 2 was seized so the rust and scoring on this cylinder are forcing me to get new pistons 90mm. Looking to purchase the Mahle ones from IE. My question is, did these blocks use cylinder inserts which could be replaced and bored so that I could possibly reuse the old pistons and save spending the $800USD on a new set? Thanks Roman
  15. Rest in Peace Paul. I received much information from Paul over the years. I'm glad we have archives of all his knowledge on this board. Sincerely Roman Lysiak
  16. Does anyone know where I can find a set of Stage 3 Connection Rod Bearings? +0.75mm Largest I could find was Stage 2 +0.50mm at Blunttech. Tearing down a 72 tii motor to replace my worn out 73. Thanks Roman
  17. Hi JD: Could you do a vehicle search at Service Ontario with the VIN number - get the buyers package. I think its about 20 bucks. Might list the present owner, that's if its still on the road. Good luck. Roman
  18. Ha. Rh came out too easy there. Restoration design....
  19. Cut it all out and re welded it with thicker guage steel. I like the idea of accessing the rail from the door sill to fill it with rust proofing. Was going to clean and prime it all with a tremclad, then use an automotive seam sealer on the quarter panel, then shoot the entire wheel well with the chip proof paint protector. I bought the restoration hardware front quarter panel, but the alignment above the head light looks off on first glance. Any of you purchase and install one of these?
  20. nice! I get the car oiled every year in the spring time. They've drilled into these cavities and fill them every year so I think I'm covered. Thanks for the input. The rear rocker on the same side has some rot as well. I believe these pin holes at the front have allowed the water to get into that cavity and is perpetuating the rust along that side. Good to get this done before the driving season starts back up!
  21. Fellow FAQers. I'm this far into repairing the rot in my passenger side quarter panel and am assessing how much to cut out? What do you guys think? Roman
  22. Fall 2020 road trip Haliburton, ON. Puddle was too deep to get through...
