  1. still for sale. lots of interest, but little following up..
  2. uploaded some more pics of rust areas to photo album. check it out
  3. I'm not splitting anything up. If you want the wheels, you need to buy the whole car. A car with no wheels taking up space in the driveway is worse than a car with wheels taking up space. I forgot to mention, the interior is extremely clean. Dash is perfect.
  4. Hello, About half a year ago my 02 starting having oiling problems and I haven't had the time or funds to fix the problem. At this point it's looking like I won't have the means any time soon, and the car is just taking up space. First off, the bad. The engine is more or less toast, but would be a good candidate for a rebuild. As it sits the head is detached from the block. 76 car.. may not be worth a look if you're in California. Paint is shit, and peeling off in some places. The good. Minimal rust (mainly on bottom of front fenders).. Clean undercarriage. Body is pretty straight, save a few dents. No bondo. IE stage 2 springs with Bilstein sport shocks in good condition. Authentic made in England Minilite wheels. Real MOMO leather racing steering wheel. Factory slicktop.. no sunroof. Currently registered as non-op. I figure I can probably get over a grand just by parting out the wheels, steering wheel, and suspension bits. So $1600 is the asking price, negotiable. I think this would make for a good project car. Located in Los Angeles area. I think that's a bout it. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. 5. ah, thanks. I'll stick a screwdriver in there tomorrow to see if the piston moves at all. If for whatever the reason the piston were stuck in place, could the relief valve being stuck open cause enough of a drop in oil pressure to cause the symptoms mentioned? I ask because I inspected the rod and main bearings today, and they all looked fine.
  6. One thing I noticed today was that when I disassembled the oil pump, there was no ball to be found with the spring in the relief valve assembly - is that right?
  7. I had assumed low oil pressure, since the oil level was good. I'll let you guys know what I find today..
  8. thanks for the replies. I guess I'll drop the crank tomorrow and see what's up.
  9. Can you elaborate and the oil pump relief valve ball and spring bit? There was a tube sticking out of the pump that I was wondering about,..
  10. Yep.. I named my account after the Wire song. I haven't listened to them in a while though, actually. I did forget to mention.. Before the sudden failure, the oil light would always flicker after coming to a stop. The oil was changed recently with Wix filter.. And there was no debris in the oil pan or sludge up top. The engine is a mongrel.. Half of it was from an engine I got off craigslist for $140 sitting in some guys backyard. I'm almost certain the car was neglected before I took ownership. The valvetrain is all in check..
  11. I recommend route 121 and 128 if they aren't too far out of the way of where you're going..
  12. Hello, my car exhibited the following: Loud valvetrain noise Loud (rod, I presume) knock Oil dummy light on Given these symptoms, I suspected oil was not getting from the bottom of the motor to the top, either due to an oil pump issue or blockage, so I've removed the oil pan and pump/pickup for inspection. I've disassembled the oil pump and notice some concentric scoring maybe an inch or so from the center of the rotor. This doesn't seem like enough to prevent the pump from getting oil to the top of the motor.. Any suggestions on what to look for next would be great.. I'm kind of stumped here.
  13. Make an offer, or I'm sending it to the scrap place
  14. Apologies for the late reply.. I live in the south bay area. The size pieces are in perfect condition. Please email me for any more questions, thanks.
  15. Cut springs half a coil at a time just to make sure you don't lower the car too much. You can use a dremel with the spring still in the car(with the suspension unloaded, of course)
  16. The first production car with a "hemi" head was a BMW.. Well before Dodge came up with the successful marketing gimmick.
  17. Someone come buy this, it's taking up a ton of space..
  18. yo yo bro is this a joke
  19. No dings or dents or bends in anything, with a good polish and perhaps some black rubber conditioner it could look like new. The side accordion pieces are also in tact.
