  1. Do the GM single wire conversion to a 105 amp alternator. You'll thank yourself.
  2. Was you ground connected to finish the circuit?
  3. Weber carb? Reset your mix screw to 2.5 turns and adjust from there.
  4. Check your regulator. Do the idiot light test.
  5. Looks like a 1bbl solex? The fitting is brass. Unscrew the chamber and take out the rest from the back. Use a rubber coated driver to grip the inside and screw out. Install new fuel line connecting tube, and replace chamber. You should rebuild while you're at it, or consider replacing with 32/36 Weber.
  6. -Are you asking if after doing a 5 speed conversion, will the IE 5 speed X-mount work with your original automatic tunnel? If so, the answer is yes, according to them. TopEnd also makes one. -You can also reuse your drive shaft as long as its the correct length. I reused my driveshaft on my conversion. I made my own transmission mount, but am looking to use the IE or TopEnd mount in the future.
  7. Steve are you open to rotating the locations thruought the Bay Area? I know there a few people that wouldnt mind meeting in Walnut Creek.
  8. Are you trying to mount it like an orginal KKK Turbo? (manifold facing down) You may want to purchase a different manifold, where the turbo flange is facing up.
  9. I have one of these. It was $800 from BestBuy Auto Equipment. Not sure if they carry it anymore, but it gets my car up about 30 inches off the ground. https://www.quickjack.com/car-lift-systems/bl-3500slx-portable-car-lift.html
  10. What part of NorCal are you in? Maybe one of us can come buy and give you a hand.
  11. Also, how is your foam inside of your HB? Is it positioned properly and sufficient to keep the air inside the box, and not escaping past the bottom flaps?
  12. I used this when I did mine. Its possible that the control valve is not closed all the way, letting some hot water enter the HB Core. IIRC, The bowden cable operated the flap and the valve at the same time. I also added a one way valve to the return side, to ensure that no hot water was working its way back from the motor side. Hope this helps.
  13. Went to get in the car, pushed the brake pedal and alllllllll the way to the floor it went. Put it on the lift, and see that the brake like rubbed on the tranny and now has a huge hole. I did a five speed conversion many moons ago and think that the new tranny was bigger than the original automatic, and that's why it rubbed raw. Would have never seen it since it was way up in the tunnel above the tranny. Does anyone have experience making or know what flare kit to purchase to making a new brake line? I'm open to buying a new one, but was thinking a custom build to keep away from the tranny would be better. Sent using Tapatalk
  14. I used a air hammer with a ball joint splitter adapter. I also relieved the stress on the joints by lifting or lowering the joints as needed. Sent using Tapatalk
  15. Did you check carb adjustment? Sent using Tapatalk
  16. Make sure your cluster is grounded. Make a jumper from your current ground, to the two brass screws on the gauge cluster and ground all to a clean ground. If not the grounds, check for broken wire or sender by checking resistance with a ohm meter. Sent using Tapatalk
  17. I hate to say this.... It's time to take the column apart. Get to the turn signal switch stalk. Measure if you have power coming into the stalk switch. If you do, creat a jumper using a light tester to see if it completes the circuit. Check each side (left/right) It's possible that the contacts are no longer making contact or you've burnt out the switch relay. You can gently bend them back(contacts), and extend their life for a bit. Where are you located? There may be someone close by that can come out and help you trace and diagnose. Sent using Tapatalk
  18. Disconnect the regulator. Use a jumper and see if the L light goes out after start up. If so, your regulator is bad, if not your generator is. I switched to a 2 wire GM CS130 with 105 amps and haven't had an issue since. Replacement alternators will be about $80 from now on and full power at idle. Sent using Tapatalk
  19. Is your blinker light working? Has the filament burned out? Sent using Tapatalk
  20. I used the I.E. Rad. I already had it pre-turbo addition. I put my intercooler in front of the rad, up high near the hood hinges I had to do a little cutting and welding, but I leaned the top of my rad forward some to gain more space between the water pump and rad. I simply relocated the 12in fan to the motor side and made it a puller instead of a pusher by reversing the polarity of the wires. Sent using Tapatalk
  21. Can you believe it !!! After months of tinkering with a few things to get it dialed in just right, and just as I was headed out for a nice drive, lo and behold, I go to start my car, press clutch, press brake pedal and..... It went to the floor. lol. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] A huge puddle of brake fluid. So much for a nice ride today. Sent using Tapatalk
  22. I like the Shell Rotella. I also like the Delo400. I've had good results with both. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Contact Double02 salvage in Hayward, CA. They've probably got one from a donor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
