  1. That looks more Colorado to me than Inka. Looking forward to seeing it in person!
  2. Strictly BMW is out that way. https://www.strictlybmw.com/
  3. Hagerty is a great friend to the vintage car community, but they raised my rates to over $500/yr @ $20k of coverage when we moved to TX. That is more than I was paying for my 02, E12 and C10 pickup in Washington. Anyway, I went with Grundy at $175/yr. Then I joined Hagerty Driver’s Club for $75 so I can get their towing.
  4. So, today, I switched from an external fuel pump to the in tank set up. I thought I was seeing signs of fuel pump failure, so I figured now was the time. I will probably change up the fuel filter set up, but it works well for now. Forgive the filthy car! That’s what trunk floor panels are for. LOL
  5. No reason Megasquirt couldn’t make this work. Just use the previous builds as an example, but instead of the E30 M10 intake manifold or ITBs, just use the one you have with this bolted to it.
  6. Coast to Coast Auto Transport. I shipped two vehicles from Seattle to Austin for $2400, uncovered. Great service and the driver put my two classics up on top so they would get disturbed as little as possible. He had to unload the whole trailer when he got here, but said he didn’t mind.
  7. Is there a chance you would sell just the air cleaner piece. I have dBilas ITBs and sold my air box. Now I wish I hadn’t.
  8. You will need to weld the IAC mount plate to that log to attach the IAC stepper motor, but that’s the toughest bit to fabricate.
  9. I have one vacuum port in my intake manifold. From there, I have a chunk of fuel rail to act like a vacuum manifold of sorts. Everything that needs a vacuum source (brake booster, MAP, fuel pressure regulator, IAC motor) is plumbed into that vacuum manifold. I use a Jeep 4.0L IAC motor to manage cold start and idle. Idle is 1000-1100 when warm.
  10. Patrick at Midnight Motorsport is your guy if you can’t get it on your own. He’s a good guy to know anyway. It’s worth stopping by to say hi.
  11. Why did I click on this? LOL I live in Austin and I am not quite ready for a wheel purchase. But those HREs would look so good on my car, even ratty as they are!
  12. I use a Jeep stepper motor to control my idle. It is plugged into the vacuum manifold. I have also been having periodic issues with that, so I have a new one to install.
  13. I have frustrations with mine as well. Mine functions great about 98% of the time. Drivability is very good, but can always use some fine tuning. My biggest issue now is stalling coming from speed to idle. It can be tuned out, but now I am 2000 miles away from my tuner. Time to learn some tuning, I guess! For the record I use Megasquirt 2 as engine management. Although not the latest and greatest it’s more than enough for a street car.
  14. Vacuum instability is one issue. But was mostly resolved by the installation of a vacuum log under the intake manifold. That is plumbed to the vacuum port in the intake manifold, and all the vacuum sources are then connected to the log. That helps balance any pulses in the vacuum signal. The other thing that takes a while to get correct is tip-in fueling. There are just a few more variables in place than with a single throttle body. Getting the thing to run and idle to about 90-95% isn't the issue. It's chasing down the last 5-10%.
  15. I have often said that ITBs and EFI is the best of both worlds. You get the induction noise of DCOEs with the infinite tuning of EFI. I will say that tuning ITBs is not easy. I had a professional handle it. But there are enough resources to assist you through the MS forums. For those people mentioning the E30 318 system, it might work on a stock motor, but the farther you get from stock, the less adaptable that system is. Programmable EFI is the way to go. I installed Megasquirt on my old, tired, stock motor. Then when I built the big cam, high compression motor, it was a matter of a few adjustments.
  16. Cars and Coffee at Circuit of the Americas this morning. Nice little lineup of vintage BMWs.
  17. I enjoy giving my wife a ration of crap for these types of things. She enjoys giving me the same treatment. Trust me, I get more rations of crap than she does. And yes, I also blame her for the sun visor clip on her side of the car breaking as well. Mine didn’t. LOL
  18. Barney helped my wife and I replace the window regulator that she broke.
  19. Those are 14” wheels. Come on, now.
  20. Any answer provided won’t sway your opinion, so I will just say that it’s my car and my ass in the seat. I find the look and ride pleasing. My car makes me happy, as I am sure yours does for you. In the end I am about my own happiness, not yours or anyone else’s.
  21. Oh, man....I am low key in the market for one of these. Just not ready with the money. Water softener and filtration system on the house is a little more important now. Good luck! You finance? LOL!
  22. I bought a set of stubby hex sockets on Amazon for just this purpose.
  23. Box flares look just fine on a roundie. Come at me, bro!
