  1. Sorry, 2joejoe2, the buyer came to pick it all up this past Saturday. Thank you to all interested parties. ***THIS HAS BEEN SOLD***
  2. Forgot to mention... The '69 does have a rear subframe still attached to it. The front from the pics above had been removed, and is with all of the other stuff in storage. There are 2 hoods; one from the '69, and another from the '73.
  3. Here are some shots of the body on the dolly, the day it went up to the body shop. The dolly pictured is included. As I informed another interested party, there is no damage to any parts of the shell that aren't pictured. I just can't find the photos with those angles. More photos to come. Thanks!
  4. Thank you for the kind words, fellas. I promise anyone who buys it to get all of my crying out before it gets picked up... Dave - The original color of the '69 is/was the dark red, almost burgundy color. It's been so long I can't even recall the proper name... I no longer have the '73. It was Flintstones bad. I realized I have the hood off the '73, and that was the Inka(?) orange color. Sorry, I hope all of that helps. Larry - I received your email and replied to it. Thank you! Everyone else - Pictures will be taken today. I will definitely be able to send them via email as soon as they're snapped, but it will take a bit longer until I'm at my computer to upload them.
  5. Year:: 1969 Make:: BMW Model:: 2002 Price:: 2,500 Location: : Milwaukee, WI I posted this over on Bimmerforums in the 2002 section, as well... Hey all, it's been forever since I've posted on here, and I'm sad to say the reason I am is because I am forced to sell my project. I'll be getting over to get some photos of all of the pieces soon, but wanted to get started on trying to sell it. I am located near the WI/IL border. This project is basically a scale model sitting in the box; all of the pieces are there, it just needs someone to put it together. My wife's job is relocating us, and it will cost me more than it's worth to get all of the pieces to our destination. Here's some info on it: The body is a 1969 roundie that I purchased and hauled back from AZ when I visited my in-laws in 2010, and most everything else is from a rotten '73 that I had originally intended to restore. Rear subframe is complete with axles and differential and shocks (Bilstein sports/H&R springs). I have 2 front subframes, one complete with knuckles and struts (Bilstein sports/H&R springs), the other is just the subframe, lower arms and drag link. Drivetrain is an M42 with 5-speed trans attached to it, from a '91 318is. I have all of the mounts that I purchased from a guy on here, years back. I have 2 heater boxes, one of which is in better shape than the other. Steering wheel and column, and steering gearbox. 2 or 3 complete wiring harnesses (can't recall). Almost all of the bright trim. Buckets of small bits (handles, knobs, switches, etc.). Complete interior, minus front seats. The front seats from the '73 were garbage at best. Glass all around. The body is strapped to a custom heavy-duty wooden dolly that I built for it, to be able to push it around when necessary. It is also currently at a friend's body shop in Milwaukee. As I stated, it was an AZ car, so the body is 95% rust free, save for the bottoms of the front fenders. In fact, he's been on me over the last couple of years to get new ones, so he can complete the bodywork and paint it. He owes me paint on it, so at a minimum, I could have him sand/fill/prime the shell for you to paint whatever color you desire. This was always something I was going to "get around to" and then I started my own company and had a couple of sons. Now a change in plans has forced my hand, and I have to sell it to someone who is going to restore it to its former glory. All the disassembly has taken place, all you need to do is freshen it up and put it together. I am pressed for time to handle this all, so unfortunately, I will not be selling and shipping individual parts. Yes, there are a few items I don't have for it(front grilles, front seats and some other things I can't recall), but what it is missing shouldn't be too hard to source on here. I don't have the slightest idea if that is a good price or not, but I need it gone ASAP. I'm also open to offers. Bring a big trailer and pick it all up at once; I'll help you load it up Depending on how a potential buyer would want to handle the body situation, I can have it painted, or get it back down to my house for the pickup, as-is. Dolly is included in the sale. Has clear WI title, that states its previous titling in AZ. Need this wrapped up by May 22nd, if possible. I will try to get over to where all of this stuff is stored, and get pictures up over the weekend. Shoot me an email if you'd like to speak over the phone about it, and I will give you my number (r.ehrhart@yahoo.com). Mods - If I've broken any rules within the post, or by posting here, I apologize. I just found out this is happening for sure, and I have to act fast. Thank you!
  6. I really appreciate you understanding Cubby, thank you. Dave, please email me at the address listed above, and we can work out the details. Thanks!
  7. Gentlemen, here is a link to the photos of the Getrag 245 I'm selling. I was able to clean it up a bit before I got the pics. www.photobucket.com/245trans Also, I know there is interest from a few guys here, and I will ship it if I have to, but I'd prefer to stay local for easy pick up. So, if there won't be any hard feelings about it, I'd like to sell/trade it to Dave since he is the closest. Please let me know. Thank you, all! P.S. Feel free to email me at r dot ehrhart at yahoo dot com.
  8. Any of the others in decent enough shape to pair as a set? If so, I'd buy them from you. Thanks!
  9. Sure thing. I'll try to get back out to the shop mid-week this week to snap some photos. I should've brought my camera today, but was in a rush. 3-bolt output. Thanks!
  10. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,371638/ If you look at the 245 in the pictures in the thread, my trans looks just like that one, minus the shifter assembly and bracket. Hopefully this works... The trans pictured is a 242, and mine definitely does not look like it. http://media.photobucket.com/image/getrag%20242/MartyBerland/BMW%202002%204%20speed%20transmissions/Getrag232and242forBMW2002001.jpg?o=13
  11. Well, I went out to the shop again today to see if I could clean it up a little to get some numbers off of it. on the inside of the bellhousing, it reads 242.00.325.90, and on the back of the case (near the guibo) it reads 245.0.054.0.00. So now I'm in the process of seeing if I can make heads or tails of what it really is. So far I've found: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,340815/sid,d583df66777edfc3bb01a85b1d76f435/ http://www.metricmechanic.com/catalog/getrag-identification-chart.php I'm pretty sure it's a 245, it is definitely a thee-piece case. Thanks!
  12. Yes, I should be able to do that. I understand if you want to research more about the 240, etc. Assuming you want it though, call $250 a done deal. Let me know, and I'll get to crating it. Thanks!
  13. How much for the door handles, shipped to 53405? Thank you!
  14. As the title states, 5-speed Getrag (I believe 245), approx. 103,000mi. Willing to ship UPS Ground, but local pickup is preferred. I will crate it for shipping, and would be shipping from ZIP code 53177. The trans weighs about 40-50 lbs. and the dimensions of the trans are approx. 24"L x 14"W x 15"H. The only stamping on it I could find was: 104222GH. This unit came out of a running, driving '83 320i about 2 years ago. Seems to be in good shape, worked well in the car. Asking $200, but open to offers or trades. I have a project '69 that I need a complete front grille (w/kidney), euro front turn signals, door handles (L&R), mirror(s), headlight buckets, rear roundel, rear trim, and a few other odds and ends. Thanks all!
  15. I would be interested in front turn signals, a center grille, headlight retainers (buckets, whatever?), any weatherstripping, door handles, door mirrors, or bright trim, assuming any of those items are for sale. Drop me a PM or email if you have any of that stuff available for sale. Thanks!
  16. I have a '69 2002, it has no windshield. I have a windshield, but it is from an '81 320i. I have not had the ambition to retrieve the glass from the depths of my nasty, cobwebbed garage attic, but I did see it up there and know that's what it's from. I just figured I'd be lazy and see what you all thought. As the title stated...
  17. So I tried to register there, and received an immediate mesage saying that my email address has been blocked. When I tried to contact, I received a message saying the email function was not working. Does anyone have any insight on this? Anyone here a member that could talk to an admin over there and ask them WTF? TIA.
  18. Hi all! Somewhat new here, been lurking, first post... I have just been given an M42 out of a '93 318is, and have had a Getrag 5-speed from a '95 318is for sometime now. I'm guessing the two will mate? A little background, I used to have a '94 318is with an AT and had purchased the MT from a wreck along with the pedals and driveshaft, intending to do a swap on the '94. Never happened, transmission currently sits, awaiting a purpose. Enter friend's brother who, for a few parts he needed, traded me the M42 figuring I could use it with my trans, and eventually put it in my '69 when its ready. I guess my questions are, after having searched for relevent information, how much work is it going to be to make this happen? I know there will be some fabrication involved, and I'll have to source the harnesses and brains for the motor from somewhere, but keep in mind that I have basically no money into this project at all. The MT I purchased has sat so long now, that I don't feel like there's any money sitting there. As an aside, I know that with that MT, I'll have to figure out a way to have a working speedo, but I also have a Getrag 5-speed out of an '83 320i. Is there any modification from the older 5-speed to the newer 5-speed that would help me keep the current speedo? (I think the older trans is a 240 and the newer a 250?) Thanks for any help I can get on the matter!
  19. Send pics of the tails please? r dot ehrhart at yahoo dot com Thanks!
