Hey all, it's been forever since I've posted on here, and I'm sad to say the reason I am is because I am forced to sell my project. I'll be getting over to get some photos of all of the pieces soon, but wanted to get started on trying to sell it. I am located near the WI/IL border. This project is basically a scale model sitting in the box; all of the pieces are there, it just needs someone to put it together. My wife's job is relocating us, and it will cost me more than it's worth to get all of the pieces to our destination. Here's some info on it:
The body is a 1969 roundie that I purchased and hauled back from AZ when I visited my in-laws in 2010, and most everything else is from a rotten '73 that I had originally intended to restore. Rear subframe is complete with axles and differential and shocks (Bilstein sports/H&R springs). I have 2 front subframes, one complete with knuckles and struts (Bilstein sports/H&R springs), the other is just the subframe, lower arms and drag link. Drivetrain is an M42 with 5-speed trans attached to it, from a '91 318is. I have all of the mounts that I purchased from a guy on here, years back. I have 2 heater boxes, one of which is in better shape than the other. Steering wheel and column, and steering gearbox. 2 or 3 complete wiring harnesses (can't recall). Almost all of the bright trim. Buckets of small bits (handles, knobs, switches, etc.). Complete interior, minus front seats. The front seats from the '73 were garbage at best. Glass all around. The body is strapped to a custom heavy-duty wooden dolly that I built for it, to be able to push it around when necessary. It is also currently at a friend's body shop in Milwaukee. As I stated, it was an AZ car, so the body is 95% rust free, save for the bottoms of the front fenders. In fact, he's been on me over the last couple of years to get new ones, so he can complete the bodywork and paint it. He owes me paint on it, so at a minimum, I could have him sand/fill/prime the shell for you to paint whatever color you desire.
This was always something I was going to "get around to" and then I started my own company and had a couple of sons. Now a change in plans has forced my hand, and I have to sell it to someone who is going to restore it to its former glory. All the disassembly has taken place, all you need to do is freshen it up and put it together. I am pressed for time to handle this all, so unfortunately, I will not be selling and shipping individual parts. Yes, there are a few items I don't have for it(front grilles, front seats and some other things I can't recall), but what it is missing shouldn't be too hard to source on here.
I don't have the slightest idea if that is a good price or not, but I need it gone ASAP. I'm also open to offers. Bring a big trailer and pick it all up at once; I'll help you load it up Depending on how a potential buyer would want to handle the body situation, I can have it painted, or get it back down to my house for the pickup, as-is. Dolly is included in the sale. Has clear WI title, that states its previous titling in AZ. Need this wrapped up by May 22nd, if possible.
I will try to get over to where all of this stuff is stored, and get pictures up over the weekend. Shoot me an email if you'd like to speak over the phone about it, and I will give you my number (r.ehrhart@yahoo.com).
Mods - If I've broken any rules within the post, or by posting here, I apologize. I just found out this is happening for sure, and I have to act fast. Thank you!
