  1. hi- PM sent! I'll take them, and I live in Mesa so that makes it real easy! thanks, Austin
  2. hey Andy! Hope you are well, sorry to hear about your missing '02. I will keep my eyes peeled out here in AZ. That strut brace is pretty unique, as are the wheels, assuming it still has them. Take care, say hi to Karen for me. Austin

  4. Here in the Phoenix area there's a shop called Brown's Upholstery. I took some e21 Recaro's to them for a quote and was quoted approx. $300-350 for cloth per seat, including materials, which seemed very reasonable. When I am ready, they are getting my business. I'll bet you can find a similar mom-and-pop operation locally. I have no affiliation with these folks, but here's there site just in case: http://www.brownsupholstery.com/
  5. Hi...i am also interested. Can you get me a quote shipped to Mesa, AZ 85201? Any idea on condition of tranny? Thanks, Austin
  6. Hi..if previous parties fall through on flares i will buy them! My email is ahealey1004 at yahoo dot com. Thanks...Austin
  7. hi Bob- I am in Mesa and have about 4 spare heads I got last year with a car, not sure if I have an e12 and have no idea on condition. I'm also picking up a pastellblau '76 (not as nice as yours!) up in Flag this weekend, and it has a few spare heads too. Maybe there are some spare parts you have we could trade for. Feel free to email me at austincolcord at yahoo dot com. You can also call me at 480-414-4042. Best, Austin
  8. I'm in nw Mesa. Now that it's cooled off i'll be driving my sahara '02 a lot to the office in Tempe! I have met a few other local '02 guys....i agree we should all plan a meet-up somewhere! Austin
  9. Hi Scott- Great issue. The photos are amazing and it's nice to see some familiar faces and shots of Old Salem. Hope all is well with you. Not sure I'll make it to VIR, but that's an awesome score and a fun place to have an event. Say hi to all the '02 guys out there for me. Seeya- Austin C.
  10. Bob- that's funny- I did the exact same thing, sans poncho, to my sahara '02 this past weekend when it stormed up here in Phoenix. Gotta take advantage of the rain when I can! My neighbors already think I'm nuts since I have 2 '02's parked in my driveway, and my daily driver gets parked on the street. Take care- Austin
  11. Just wanted to say I was very pleased with the pedal box I bought from this seller...it was better than expected and was a really smooth transaction. Good luck with your other parts....I might need to find something else to buy from you! Thanks again.
  12. I believe I inquired about the buyer's willingness to ship these wheels to Phoenix. The reply was approx. $100. If the seller is referring to my inquiry...i did not offer to buy the wheels for $375. If there is another '02er in Phoenix who did indeed offer $375 for them, the buyer should take it. To me, considering the cost of shipping, I'd also pay $150 for them plus shipping. Good luck with the sale.
  13. Hi- email sent. I have a buddy who wants to check it out. thanks, Austin
  14. Very cool Andy. Think of how much more garage space you'd have if you just collected Hot-Wheel size '02s! I assume you bought one of every color available? Hope all is well with you. I've been driving my '75 sahara car out here in AZ every day...I gotta get in some '02 time before it's hits 100 degrees every day! Say hi to Karen for me! Austin C.
  15. Interested. Email sent. Nice 911 in background. Thanks- Austin
  16. Hi...not sure if I pasted the link correctly below...there's a dark blue '76 on eBay now. Has flares, backdated rear bumper,"mild cam"', air dam, etc. Just wondering if anyone here knows of this car and can provide opinions on it's quality. Thanks! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110806524239+&lgeo=1&viewitem=&vectorid=229466#ht_500wt_948 '>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110806524239+&lgeo=1&viewitem=&vectorid=229466#ht_500wt_948
  17. I also live in the Phx area and spoke to the owner yesterday. Nice fellow- the car sounded decent for the first few minutes he described it...then he casually mention that the car had been rear-ended hard enough to require "rear clip and front clip" replacement- apparently it was a hard enough hit to send him into the bumper of the car in front of him. So if you look at it, you may want to examine very closely the repaired areas and see if the panels align correctly. I was interested until he mentioned the accident damage, but I figure his price reflects that. He also mentioned the gas tank needed replacement as the car was hit hard enough to bend the tank filler. Regardless, nice to see another AZ owner- we still need to get everyone in the PHX area together for a local meetup! Austin
  18. My 2 cents- I've had my '95 993 for about 6 years. Pic below- I updated the wheels to the '02/'03 lightweights, along with an H and R spring kit. Otherwise stock. It's a fantastic, amazing car which has capabilities beyond what my courage levels or the law allows. But I honestly have more fun driving my '74 '02, and definitely get more positive "thumbs-up" reactions in the '02. I can corner hard, brake hard, accelerate hard in the '02, and I'm not breaking any speed limits doing it. Not so in the 993. In fact, I'm probably going slower in my '02 than a guy driving a base-model Honda Civic! I'm definitely a DIY guy, and while I can repair just about anything on my '02, not so with the 993. That big motor crammed in the trunk isn't really DIY-friendly in my opinion. But then I'm not a German engineer, so what do I know?! It sure is fast and makes all the right mechanical vroom-vroom (a technical term) noises. I like the model year 2002+ 996, and for an everyday driver for the price of a new base-model Mustang, they seem like a pretty great deal if you find a good one and anticipate higher operating costs as your tradeoff, vs. said Mustang. Btw I also like the vroom-vroom noises Mustangs make, just sayin'.
  19. Scott- just when I thought your car couldn't get any awesome-er, you made it even more awesome-er (awesome-er-er?) with that light bar and the vintage amber lights! It's so cool with those 8-inch bwa rims, that I'm now thinking maybe I need some flares and some vintage 8" wide 13" rims. Just the thing for cruising around Ardmore! have fun! Austin
  20. Hey Scott! It's Austin- I'm living in warm Arizona now and have been keeping my old car habit going. I still have my roundie and have been fixing up a sahara '75 I bought for cheap locally. I really love your latest project and think the flared pig-cheek look is awesome. Hope WS is good, say hi to everyone for me! Austin
