  7. just in time for the 2010 event! I had intended on getting this out last summer but i procrastinated, and procrastinated... and then forgot about it. Its just a quickly edited video of the drive from Maryland to Shelton Vineyards with the last segment taken from the mini rally the morning of the event. The footage isnt great, just thought it would be good to get it posted to get folks in the mood for the spring/summer drives and events. 2010 Vintage at the Vineyards is less than 60 days away! http://video.yahoo.com/watch/7237402/18866239 Enjoy!
  8. Brad, If you are thinking about upgrading, i'd consider the d80 or d90. The d80 is getting a little long in the tooth but is still a capable camera. The d90 has great low light performance (cmos sensor) and is an all around upgrade from the d80... you may also be able to snag a d300 body refurbished for around $1200. My advice though... spend more of your money on the glass. In daylight conditions you can get images from your d70 that are on par with a pro camera. There are obviously features that you arent going to get in the d70, 80 or 90 that you would in the 300, 700 or d3, but those things come with a price. Qauality lenses make all the difference in the world. Fixed aperture (if you can get 2.8, great), high quality glass can make up a good bit of the difference between the image quality in a consumer camera and a pro camera. The d200 is another option. I know Bestbuy was selling them online (online only) a few months ago for around $600 for the body... Rediculous for the quality you get! Richard
  9. Bill, Absolutely. I'd be happy to share. Richard
  10. Just a few to add. Some bimmer, some not. Tried to get out and about to see what else was at the show and ended up not getting as many BMW shots as i wanted. Maybe next year...Have a few more to drop in but wanted to put them up anyway since i have a tendency to not finish what i start. Bill, your pics look great! Thanks for letting me open and shut your doors about 33 times... each. Very photogenic little car you've got there. Enjoy Richard
  11. that is Matt's car. Good eye! I was hoping to get a hold of him before the end of V@V to say thanks for organizing the convoy on Friday and to get his email address so that i could send him the pictures of his car. Loved his 02. Very much like the one my folks had when i was a kid (but not a tii). I made it a point to take a few minutes to shoot it. I could have spent hours, but between my dogs acting like lunatics and meeting /talking to all the great people i ran into, i hardly had time to really get into 'shooting mode'. All the more reason to go again next year! Thanks for the compliments. Richard
  12. yeah, for some... kind of mid process.... 50%. so in some, the skies are a little off, and in others, the foreground. First stab for me is usually trying to get the subject right and then re processing for the rest. Its funny though because i hadnt intended to use the technique. This was more of a case where i used it to save a less than ideal exposure. So they were all handheld, single, RAW exposures and none long exposures. (which some might argue isnt true HDR, but whatever). I'll post the finished versions when they are done.
  13. Now that i have your attention... Greetings brothers.. Sorry for posting yet another V@V thread, but there were a few pics of the 02 variety that i wanted to post here in the event that the owners might want them. I had a chance to meet a bunch of you 02ers on the way down from Maryland. i was in one of 2 e9's that made up a caravan of about 20 strong from the northeast (I think i met John (VA), Matt (MD), Larry, Carol... the rest of the names escape me but they were all great folks). Great time, great drive, great event. Most of the pictures you've no doubt already seen. some shots have been touched a bit (but not quite done yet) and some not. Never seen so many beautiful 2002's in one place. I still want one and have wanted one my whole life. My folks had one when i was born. Still have the pics of it. That car was probably the root of my obsession... i still think back on it fondly. I also have a video that i'm editing that i can post here when i get it done. Cheers... A Few More...
