  1. You guys ought to consider coming to Drive 4 corners at Purgatory resort this August! A little over 2 weeks away if your schedule is free!! Geared towards the true enthusiasts who want a weekend driving getaway! Our Denver group drive will start 8/25/2017 likely at Bandimere parking lot to Salida. The Co Springs group will start south near the World arena and also meet in Salida, Co. Details on the caravans will be published soon... http://drive4corners.com/
  2. Great to see this topic, I'm glad you made it Jim and Art! What a great weekend, we had officially 98 registered vehicles although not all ended up making it. We have over 80 cars make it on our drive, and over 90 throughout the entire weekend. I had a blast and was very happy to see all those who were able to make it out to Pagosa Springs. It was a great weekend and I know Ben Ryan was super bummed he couldn't make it for the weekend with his touring. Some good photos there, I know I am still going through a bunch of my own! funny how 2 2002's show up, and somehow each walks away with an award!! I hope you guys will get more 02's to show up next year because they are neat to see actually driving on the roads! So many car shows where we see them stationary, rather than in their natural driving environment! Let me know if you have any questions but I hope you guys saw the 2014 Video review here: We should have more footage coming in another video. Take a look here at our Photo Gallery: http://drive4corners.com/index.php/photo-gallery/
  3. Now over 60 cars registered for the gathering, although I know of a few people who are questionable and just haven't been able to iron out their plans. Either way, it will be a great turn out! Caravan information has been added for TX, CO, and AZ will be posted today. Only 3 weeks to the event, I hope you guys are getting your cars ready Event Tshirt design also posted!! Order Here if you aren't attending the event: http://drive4corners.com/index.php/shop/
  4. July meet is all set up - in Castle Rock! I hope you all can join us. Should be a great time with good people, and as many BMW's as we can wrangle up... What: Meet up, see BMW's and BMW enthusiasts for a great weekend gathering in Castle Rock, CO. For any confusion this isn't the actual D4C event or caravan, this is simply just a pre-bash to get everyone hyped up for the event August 1st. Facebook Event Page here. This is simply a "Pre Bash" of the upcoming D4C event on August 1st. www.drive4corners.com When: Sunday July 13th, 2014. 11:00am Where: Castle Rock Fair Grounds 500 Fairgrounds Rd. Castle Rock, CO 80104 Lot#1 Hope you all can join us for a great BMW gathering. I'll see about trying to get a tent so we don't roast out in the sun!
  5. Talking to some friends, we are thinking about planning a BMW get together in Castle Rock July 13th at 11am. Any thoughts about this? If you guys are game, lets make it happen! I like the older models and don't drive a 02 anymore, but can definitely appreciate them. I try to get 1990 and older to show if possible.
  6. If you didn't already see on the website, the weekend outline and preliminary schedule has been posted. All subject to change, but will help you all plan your trip and activities! We have 55 registered cars right now, although I am sure there are more on the fence--- What are you waiting for? Great people, awesome cars, scenic and relaxing location, plenty of driving roads, there is something for everyone. We are just under six weeks from the event and preparations are coming together!
  7. Sounds goods! I don't know what car I will have, but it should be a good time. Right after ofest too. So hopefully some of us 02 owners can make it to Drive 4 corners also! Tom
  8. Sounds great, i'll try and get all the 'classic' BMW guys to come to the centennial location. There's definitely space there. Also going to try and bring the Drive 4 Corners crew, so you can ask us if you have any questions regarding the meet.
  9. I'll likely be at the centennial location. Won't be in an 02 but may be able to remind my brother to bring his. I'm not sure if this forums lets you subscribe to a thread, but that would be a good way to keep in the loop with everybody...
  10. getting sign ups, but we only have 1 2002 so far-- we need more!!
  11. Drive 4 Corners has announced our dates and opened registration for the meet in 2014! Last year we had over 60 BMW's parked at the top of Wolf Creek Pass and the Continental Divide for a unique photo opportunity. We are in the planning stages of the 2014 meet, but have firmed up all of the details regarding date, time, location, and a majority of activities throughout the weekend. We are working on getting discounted rates at the Family of Choice Hotels to all those traveling long distances. Send and email to info@drive4corners.com for this discount promotion. What: The focus of the meet is having a relaxed weekend with fellow BMW enthusiasts at a getaway location with scenic views and friendly BMW banter. More Information available HERE. When: August 1-4th, 2014 Where: Pagosa Springs, Colorado It really is a great scenic area, and worth the trip alone for the views along the Continental Divide. We had participants come from Texas, California, Nevada, Arizona, South Dakota, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Maryland in 2013. A main focus for the event is the driving aspect that is only really found in impromptu enthusiast meets and organized BMW CCA drives. We wanted to change that by driving to a picturesque location and meeting up with fellow enthusiasts at the destination to talk BMW's. Another important aspect is the accommodations for friends and family that allow you to choose what you want to do over the weekend. This could be a trip to the hot springs, the local outfitter, Continental Divide, or even Treasure Falls. This will be the first weekend in August and we need a few people to help lead a caravan from New Mexico, Texas, and another caravan from Utah. The caravan out to the event with 10 fellow BMW drivers was great fun and we would like to provide that from other states away. We also need some sponsors who would be interested in attending the event BBQ on saturday with a booth, and giving our participants some extra goodies. If you'd like to learn more about the event, check out the event in review post on the site http://drive4corners.com/index.php/2013-event-in-review/ and please PM me or email me at Tom@drive4corners.com I will post more detailed information such as schedule, event feature car, and caravan information when it is ready to be distributed. Last year's Tee with feature car e24 6 series. Also, take a look at our short 2013 Highlight Reel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um9gl8dOVYk Or our 2013 Participant Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF2TqVXlg60 Or our Full Event Photo Gallery: http://drive4corners.com/index.php/photo-gallery/ Thanks guys, we need more than 1 2002 out there come August! 12. Hoping to get a 2002tii up and running in a while here with my brother...
  13. As part of the Drive 4 Corners BMW meet, we release weekly BMW-related content to those interested in the community. This week, we have the pleasure of presenting the unique backstory behind Ben In Denver's 2000 Touring. Nowadays, 2002's are becoming a rare car. Few are seen at car meets, and fewer are seen on city streets. Yet, an even more rare sight is the European import hatchback E6 platform. Take a look at one this week, along with the unique story that it holds. Take a look at the full article here: http://drive4corners.com/index.php/lost-in-time/ Thanks to Ben for being willing to share his story, and the unique story of this rare vehicle!
  14. Thanks! My brothers and I hope to get a 2002tii running in the next few months. The engine went in, trans and driveshaft. Now what's left is wiring, radiator and getting it running!
  15. Pretty sure I saw it last year as well -- fender flares I think!
  16. Hello fellow 02 lovers, I thought I'd share part of my story of BMW's and 2002's. Hopefully you like the story! "Ever since I was a young kid, I was surrounded by something that I didn’t even think about. My rides to intramurals in elementary school, being watched by my dad at his shop for the afternoon, riding in the back seat to church, or trips to the public library– it all happened in the back seat of a BMW. Whether it be the rear seat of a 325iX, or the cushy highline interior of an M6, I grew up in the interior of a BMW. I rode around in a bunch of 02′s and went skiing once in our Sahara Beige 2002tii. Ok, when I was younger, it was simply known as “the beige car.” But it was fun to ride in, especially when my dad would pick up speed on the down hill sweeper on my way to elementary school. Oh yeah, it was just as exciting when we did donuts in the icy street in front of our house. At a young age, these things were the best. Kind of like when me or one of my brothers would get to steer the car coming down the driveway. Maybe that’s how I got started in this whole BMW community. I don’t think I would have been described as a car lover back then– just a kid that grew up with a lot of cars in the family...."
