  1. So it sounds like it (vin 3750677) was last seen at Korman. I wonder if they would remember it. Steve at NW Aston Martin wanted to preserve the privacy of the new owner, which I understand. Perhaps it's in the hands of a private collector. I know for me it was too nice to drive. It will surface again - someday
  2. boy I'll have to dig to find the VIN and other pictures- I'll try this weekend here's when it was on bringatrailer: http://bringatrailer.com/2010/03/18/as-new-6675-mile-euro-1975-bmw-2002/ found it - vin 3750677
  3. Steve - yes that is it as pictured in post #28, sans Italian plates. I wonder where it is. I'll have to dig up pictures that I have. If the new owner has questions I can help fill in the missing facts. It is indeed a rare schwarz series 2002 - not a Lux model. It's a thrill to see it again! Thanks for your help
  4. Hi I'm wondering what happened to a 02 I brought to the States in '06. it was a '75 2002 Schwarz Lux with very low KM from Italy. I sold it to New England Aston Martin in '10. I'd be happy to answer any questions the new owner may have about it, but mostly just wonder where it ended up. Thanks David davidmohseni@ymail.com
  5. http://www.astonmartin-lotus.com/inventory/index.php?page_function=detail&product_id=888 This was my old car that I sold for 30k. I hope he gets 45k! he replaced the wooden steering wheel I had with the factory one and fixed the AC. This is a classic example of a car that is too nice to drive and probably should be in someone's collection or a museum. I sold it and bought a VW Eurovan Camper that I actually use and enjoy. Long live the 02!

  13. Nice going! What a collection - I sold my 75 Italian 02 Schwarz series that was listed last week for 30K - I know you liked it too! And I appreciate your nice comments then too. Thanks David
  14. The seals are excellent, hard to believe but true. The hood pads had crumbled away and new ones were placed in after the paint. I still haven't even waxed the car since I had it repainted in 07 - too scared of the swirl marks. So the paint will shine even more with a little wax. I've just hand washed it. The title work is almost complete. Though I could have gotten more if I had taken the time to take glamour pictures, gotten the title... Probably a flipper will buy it and we'll see it offered even higher, but I hope an enthusiast buys it.
  15. That thingy next to the fuse box is I'm pretty sure something to do with the radio - I only saw 2 other 02's when I lived in Italy and they both had them - probably something the Italian importer put on.
  16. Hello 02 Brothers and Sisters, thanks for the comments , I'm the owner- It's sure fun to expose this car to the world. It really is special. You gotta realize that I've been 02ing for a very long time and I finally found that special 2002. The belt line was dented in a few places and the paint could've been fine as is - but when it comes to 02's I wanted the best. And I've always wanted a car painted by Arven in Longmont. He does paint like I've never seen. It was a personal thing to repaint and get all new trim, roundels, etc - I wanted the perfect 2002 or at least close to it. If anything had even the slightest blemish it was replaced. The taillights and front blinkers were fine - I just wanted shiny new ones! Sadly I don't know if I'll drive it as much as I should... that's basically why I'm selling - I 've reached the 2002 zenith and it's down hill from there. The great orange book, 02 series, The Cult Car references this model on page 86, No tiis were made as they were stopped in 74. As far as having a clock - I figure it was an elegance thing where a clock is more important than a tach, who knows how they did things there. Anyone see in the ebay pictures the "spare parts" kit in the trunk? The driving lights weren't hooked up because I may change them, the ac hasn't been fixed because I want to retrofit it a sanden and get a ingram (sp) 3-core radiator. I also have a complete nos headlight washer system waiting to be installed (the one with the huge washer tank!). It's hard to think about changing things in this 2002. So guys - it's an 02 sickness and maybe I'm having mid-life crises number 34 and it won't hit my reserve!
  17. This is a timely thread - I've not been able to drive my 02 lately (too much snow)which is the ulimate garage queen with only 6000 miles on it. I sort of feel I've reached the zenith in 02ness and might want to move on.... and that's after more than 35 years of 02 ownership! Of course like many other people I used an 02 for my DD when I had a new one in 74 - but those were different times, with different roads and drivers. Things change... But I agree with others - love my pick up - and I rotate with my other cars - my 67 peugeot 404, with my 08 saab turbo x wagon and the truck. The 02 feels like a museum piece and the driving connditions have to be near perfect to get it out and about. Guess I need to get her out and enjoy her!
  18. Hah - too much snow and cold to get the queen out of the garage. But I'll keep my eye out for any 02 driving women - fairly rare these days. Seems like it's mostly men driving these cars. Bill - I didn't realize MD and washington are shut down because of snow!
