Remember how Mom always said "don't run with scissors"? Well here's another one.... Always disconnect the battery before replacing the driver's side motor mount!!
Well, I didn't and I managed to create an amazing light and sound show when my wrench shorted out between the positive side of the starter and the block.
Problem now is, when I turn the key I get nothing! No clicks, no ticks, no whirring sounds...nothing. The battery is still fine, all my lights work and when I turn the key on all my idiot lights come on. It's just when I turn it to start, nothing happens. The lights don't dim or anything.
My question to the group is, before I start blindly checking everything with my meter, what's the most likely culprit? Do you think I melted the ignition switch itself? The starter solenoid? Did I fry the starter? Maybe just melted a wire (which one)? With my luck it will be all the above.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or tips!
Dan
