  1. front grilles for a '72? Michael in Steamboat springs CO
  2. My '72 '02 needs left and right grilles. New or not. (daily driver). Are there sources out there?
  3. Thanks for responding Art! I paid $60 for one from a member and it worked intermittently, the brushes were almost shot. The P.O of my car had the previous motor hardwired with three wires, high, low, off. It worked fine for 10 years. The washer had been deleted at the stalk so I have a push button for that. I think I can make any motor work. Please let me know how much and I can paypal or whatever. Thanks, Michael (schliske@springsips.com)
  4. My post from a few minutes ago says "found". I found one but it didn't work. I should have started a new thread. Oops.
  5. I got a wiper motor from a member and it worked intermittently. I opened it up and the brushes were at the very end of their travel, so I'm still looking. The P.O cut the plug off and hardwired it so which plug it has won't matter. Thank you, Michael in Steamboat Spgs CO 80487
  6. I found the receipt, It's actually three years old. .
  7. Huh? I've got a roundie and this muffler bolted right in. I don't think there is a difference from sq to round.. If your wife (or husband) wants a reason to leave you, this could do it. It flows like a river of Harley.
  8. This one has twin pipes out the center. I am pretty sure it fits all '02's. My '72 has the off center (side exit) notch, but this clears the panel just right and fits. I wouldn't sell it if it weren't telegraphing all my huge power advantage to all my competitors.
  9. This "muffler" is one year old. It sounds great from about a half mile away. If you want to send a message to your friends, neighbors and relatives that live within about a mile this is your baby. It sounds like open pipes that have been opened just a little bit more. I checked my drivers license and it says I'm 61, not 16 like I thought I was so it has to go. Guaranteed to let you drive around by yourself (no one will want to ride with you) and if they do jump in, you won't have to make small talk! $100 + shipping

  11. I'll take them. I'm in Steamboat Springs. Do you deliver? Michael 970-819-2341
  12. It's a 3 1/2 "x 6" symmetrical rounded rectangle. That's the one right? Metal isn't perfect (8?) - slight patina, one very slight smooth ding. No scratches on the glass.
  13. I've got one from my '72'02 that I took off to save weight and for aerodynamic purposes. (kidding). $75 + shipping.
  14. I've got the 400mm steering wheel (from my beloved '70 '02) that I was holding when some kid rear ended me going about 30 mph while I was stopped at a stoplight on a Sunday morning in Steamboat Springs CO. The car in front of me got croquet balled out into the middle of the intersection. With the great crumple zone design, I was able to open the door and walk away from my poor crushed car. I got to keep the car and part it out. Now I have a '72 with a Momo sport wheel (that took some time to get used to) so I don't need the old wheel. It's in great shape. $250 + shipping?
  15. I'm in steamboat springs CO and I have a '72'02. Tell me about the tranny if it is still available. Michael Schliske 970-819-2341
  16. I have one on the way. Thanks everyone.
  17. I don't need the key and lock parts, just the switch. Please. Michael 970-819-2341 Steamboat Springs CO
  18. Hello, I'm in Steamboat Spgs CO and am interested in the tranny. What part of Utah? Michael Schliske 970-819-2341
  19. When I installed the 5 speed in my '72'02 I cut (gasp) a HOLE in the tunnel about 3"x4", just to the right of the gas pedal. I then screwed a copper sheet patch over the hole from the inside with short hex drive self tapping sheet metal screws. After six months the clutch seemed kind of mushy so I opened the little panel and bled the slave in about 5 minutes. I'm sure there are lots of reasons why this is a bad idea, (and I'm sure we'll hear a lot of them) but if the slave goes out again I'll bet I can swap it out in twenty minutes without even getting under the car.
  20. Thanks! Jeez, I wasn't trying to go for the land speed record, just curious. I agree the FEELING of speed is fun. I can go 100 and it feels like 130, and my friends' 330i goes 100 and it feels like 55. The curves are where it's at. I just thought that if I could just go 130 one time in my brick that would be that. I'm sure it's way more dangerous going 50mph through the I-70 to I-25 interchange in Denver.
  21. How fast will these cars go? (on a closed course with a professional driver of course). I've got a 5-speed overdrive, Weber 45's, 292 cam, sport suspension and big brakes, 390 diff, v-rated track tires. I had it going 110 according to a speedo that wasn't matched to the diff and it felt it could go to the red line without trouble. I don't have any aerodynamic improvements yet. What will help the most? Any speed stories out there? Thanks-Michael
  22. The way I understand it (and I could certainly be wrong) the water pump sucks water from the thermostat and the coolant return pipe from the heater and pushes it into the front of the engine. Could someone verify this please? Thanks!
  23. I'm trying to get my heater to work. I've got dual weber 45 dcoe's with a coolant bypass tube, a new water pump, new thermostat, new hoses, flushed heater core and 320 radiator. I had the heater box out and did the flaps, etc. It still isn't clear to me which way the coolant flows through the by-pass tube. Someone mentioned returning the water up to the top (to the water neck?). I don't know if it is possible to get the heater to really "melt your tennis shoes" with this set up like I was able to get in my '70 that had a 32-36 carb. Help? Thanks! michael
