  2. Looking like I might need to have my Getrag 245 5 Speed rebuilt. Everything shifts smoothly as of now but the other day started making an interesting whining noise. Live in Sacramento but anywhere in the Bay would work as well. I'm probably going to pull it out myself if it will save some $$. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Is the meetup spot the Starbucks near Ikea in W. Sac?
  4. I'm heading there from Sac as well. Were you meeting at the Sbux in Midtown?
  5. Cool let me know and i'll try to meet.
  6. Is anybody driving from the Sacramento Area that might want to caravan?
  7. Great event as always and nice to catch up with some fellow 02ers
  8. Congrats on the new gig Andrew. You were a huge help during my build. Cheers!
  9. Amazing artwork Kile. Are these going to be available at the show?
  10. North Bay Bavarian in Santa Rosa. Great guys and very knowledgeable.
  11. Is anybody planning on attending the SF Cars and Coffee event tomorrow at Treasure island? I'm caravaning from Sacramento with a couple others although i think I'm the only 02 in that pack.
  12. Loved the episode. Watched it twice last night lol. It honestly seemed like JS loved the car. So many of the episodes don't give enough credit to the car but this one did. So cool. Cheers
  13. Looks like a great show; wish I could have made it.
  14. Typically 185 is slightly narrow for a 7" wheel but they are only 0.4" narrower than a 195 in the same aspect ratio. I put some pics of the tire profile when I was looking at tire sizes a year ago or so before I finished the RS's. No problems at all. I think a lot of people are apprehensive about a small stretch but I think it makes for a good look and still handles just fine. I was going for fitment over traction as my car is mostly just driven around town and not tracked. (Although i think it would still do pretty well on a circuit) I installed extended studs on all of the hubs (front and rear) just to make sure i had enough. Ended up cutting just a bit off of the front ones but the rears were good. I have a bunch of pics up on my Instagram account if you'd like to take a look. 15. Thanks. I ended up with 8mm spacers in the front and 10mm on the rear. I also went with a 185/55/15 tire to help with any potential rubbing issues. Everything fit's very nicely with the suspension and brake mods and no rubbing.

  17. Very nice car. Where did you find the louvers?
  18. Last night i decided to finally go through and re-install my roll up windows which I neglected to do during my restoration. I got brand new regulators but other than that, all of the original components looked to be OK to reuse as the windows worked OK before i disassembled them for paint last year. Anyways, I noticed that the "c-channel" style bracket that attached to the bottom of passenger window does not have a cotter pin going through the bracket and window but the drivers side did. Is this how they were or do some of the passenger ones have the cotter pin holding the window to the bracket? The main reason I ask is I now need a new window as the old one is in 1 million pieces after trying to carefully add this hole......DOOHH!!! Any advise is always appreciated.
  19. This is definitely surprising to hear. During the thick of my build (around this time last year), IE was EXTREEMLY helpful from a technical and communication prospective. My suspension turned out amazing, the brake upgrades were top notch (they even helped massively when I had an installation issue with the rears and provided a new kit), and everything else I ordered from them was very high quality. I do think that many people have become accustomed to the "instant order" mentality but I don't believe that thought process can be applied to our machinery. There are always efficiencies to be found in business and personal communication is a great method to find them, not trolling a forum.
  20. I have a set of RS047's (15x7 ET38) with 185-55R/15's and with some small spacers, things just fit. 195's with my set up would be too wide, especially for the fronts.
