  1. 66Vette: Yes, I'm in NY. No problems with the radio. Whats also very nice about these is that they don't stick out much from the mounting surface. Probably less than half of an inch.
  2. Greetings. I noticed your post and thought I could be of some help as I have one of these new Blaupunkts in my '71. I cant remember if it was ebay or Amazon, but I purchased the Madrid 200 BT a couple of years ago. Pretty clean design and pretty decent sound. Easily syncs up with your smart phone via bluetooth. I chose the Madrid for the orange illumination. The Madrid does not have a cd player which I didn't want and it also is much shorter in depth for easier installation. The Barcelona 200 does have the cd player. Hope this helps. Cheers–Albert
  3. Thanks for the info. Yes. Staying clear of cheap switches. I was able to source new original ones by Indak. I'll keep looking for that dang resistor. Cheers
  4. Greetings all. Has anyone replaced a bad resistor (only blows high) on their Frigiking unit? Will any three prong resistor work if it's mountable. Many resistor options out there but cannot find the exact one. In my search, I discovered the switch can still be bought new. Thanks in advance Albert
  5. Looking for the blower motor resistor for Frigiking AC unit. Mine seems shot after 50 years. Only blows high and low speeds.
  6. Hello all. Was wondering if anyone has the broken pieces in the photo to sell. This is the Hobie Dave AC compressor bracket. Thanks
  7. Thanks for that info. I dont recall any clips but pics would be helpful.
  8. Hello all. Just installed brand new window felt and I cant seem to get the top corners to stay down. Can anyone recommend an easy fix to this? As we know, that felt is just held in with that gummy substance. Perhaps mine is too gummy and is not setting in properly? Would appreciate and tip or trick. Thanks in advance.
  9. Greetings. Saw you this morning on your way to Alfa Motors. Sorry about your situation. If you get this message, PM me. I know an 02 Whisperer if you need help. Best, Albert (Cinnebar 02/Alpine white e30)
  10. Greetings all. I am going back to the original air filter and am having one restored. I am looking for the left and right side brackets that attach to the manifold. Thanks Albert
  11. Greetings! Good luck on your restoration. I have to say that car looks very familiar. Was that Louie's car from L&R Auto in Brooklyn? The 4 light grille tipped me off.
  12. Hello again Matt. Good to know you connected with Lawrence. He is a really super guy. His talent and knowledge with those cars is beyond words. He's walked me through problems over the phone on several occasions. Man, you had a bad experience with BKM too? I'll stay clear of those guys. Weekends work best for me for a catch up. Let me know what you decide. I'm in the area but more on the Columbia St Waterfront side. Cheers, Albert
  13. Oh man. Sucks to be involved with dishonest guys. And overpriced. Thanks for the heads up. I'll stay away. The shop that forgot to put the cotter pin on my wheel is Alfa Motors in Cobble Hill. I've been going to them on and off over the years. Decent guys and I see 02s at the shop regularly but damn…how do you forget the cotter pin? I have a feeling they probably let the young apprentice at the shop finish the wheel and he missed it. The owner apologized for the botched job and covered the expenses I had for the shop down in Maryland that repaired the wheel to get me back on the road. Good thing I was able to retrieve it. It ended up in the grass between North and South bound traffic which means it crossed 4 lanes. Crazy. I know Little Garage from when they were in Queens. I actually bought my second 02 from Matt's secretary at the time. This mustve been around '95. There's L&R on Union St next to Dinosaur BBQ. Louie is good but he's getting old and he kinda misses stuff too. Been going to him since '95. He knows 02s pretty well as he's had many at the shop over the years. He recently did a restoration to a Sahara roundie. Decent job. Oh well, I guess the search continues for a close, reliable 02 man or garage. Good luck with your motor work.
  14. Oh boy. Motor meltdown? Hope not too serious. I too had a predicament recently–my whole rear left wheel flew off my car cruising up 95 N. I had the bearing replaced recently and they forgot to put the cotter pin back in to secure the axle nut. Luckily I didnt cause an accident and I was unharmed. Would you mind sharing the shop that did the work on your motor? Im still in search of a local 02 man or shop thats sensitive to our cars. As I mentioned before, my 02 guru is up in Poughkeepsie and its not always convenient to get the car to him. He will be giving my car a full evaluation for safety though since this latest incident.
  15. Hey there. Are you Scott? If you are, I met you at the Wholefoods parking lot a couple weeks ago. I have the red '71. You have the silver '69. There's another 02 around downtown Brooklyn. I pass him regularly in the morning on Furman St. Colorado roundie. I think he has CA plates.
  16. If you ever decide to go the Honda Civic armrest route, there are preset holes for power switches on either side of the handbrake.
  17. Ah. I get it. Use that actual handle and crank to activate the switch. Very interesting. Would like to see how this works out. Good luck. Yes. I have SPAL and the unit comes with a manual crank handle in case of failure.
  18. Greetings. You probably don’t want to get rid of your window cranks. In case you power windows fail or if there’s a power issue, you would want to be able to raise or lower your window. Depending on your set up, why not just mount the switches to you shift surround. Or in my case I have an armrest-perfect for power switches.
  19. Have you considered the electronic flasher relay upgrade? It’s my next move. Seems to do the trick for a lot of guys on here.
  20. I actually replaced the relay with a brand new one. That helped my flashers in that I would get the green blinker whereas before I would just get one blink. The relay had no effect on the hazard. However I did notice when it’s pulled out, my flashers will not work at all. Another thing is that the red knob does not light up at all when pulled up. Checked the bulb inside and it’s fine.
  21. Greetings. I am having hazard switch issues too. I am also ready to retrofit later style switch into old push/pull style. I've tried many early switches (all supposedly were good) Could never get hazards to work on my car, a '71. Did you ever figure this out for your vehicle? Albert
  22. Hey guys. Did anyone park a silver tii square light at Washigton and Front tonight? I was parked around the corner on Front St. Red round light with silver bladed roof rack. I go to the gym around there a couple nights a week and never see any 02s. Albert
