  1. Shipment of the WUR arrived in Europe within a week. Installing the actuator was easy and very accurate. Getting it out took more effort after sitting for 50 years. The ultrasonic cleaner helped out great. The tool is handy but not strong enough if all is seized, be sure the locknut can move before you use the tool. I am pleased a replacement actuator is now available for our Tii's. I'll install the WUR on the 02 soon. 20240127_145230495_iOS.heic 20240127_150122059_iOS.heic 20240127_161509974_iOS.heic

  3. Actually there is a very easy way to slide out the side-cover bearing races without having to drill in the cover . https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bM_3lJOCXOo/Ub2GWfve4FI/AAAAAAAACFA/B9fyXO-Kcfc/w1185-h889-no/2013-06-15+19.24.02.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-szLXsBsiR-w/Ub2GhjB6mhI/AAAAAAAACFI/Xl47CTRWTPo/w1185-h889-no/2013-06-15+19.24.10.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-uZ8RKpymSlM/Ub2GmTA9ccI/AAAAAAAACFQ/8YK5EC56G8E/w1185-h889-no/2013-06-15+19.28.48.jpg SIDE-COVERS & PUMPKIN INSERTION -------------------------------------- One of the more difficult parts of the entire process is the removal of the side-cover bearing races. Typically a race will have some sort of lip to use a punch or puller on allowing for removal, for some reason the E21 open diff's side-covers have no such access. The only way to remove them is to carefully drill a few small angled access holes on the face of the cover so you can run a punch through and pop out the race.
  4. Thank you so much, I'm starting with mine very soon, this is a great guide.
  5. YES Please! Make that two. Probably there are more people in the Netherlands who want one!
  6. I've read most of the article but the last remark worries me. you say you placed the tranny mounts 80-mm but that is for a close ratio gearbox the e21 gearbox is just a little longer witch explains why there is no clearance at the front and why you used washers, there shouldn't be any washers. I have a close ratio in my touring and a e21 5 speed in the baur, they are not the same length
  7. I'll think you will find some of them here also http://www.bmw02.nl/meeting/Vintage2010
  8. I think I was slowing him down on the Friday drive! Matthew, I.m sorry for that i was just having fun.
  9. Again it was worthwhile flying over the big pond. We had such a good time at the vintage an the days we stayed there, covered three states and saw a lot of nice scenery. It was good to see all of our friends again. Here are the pictures of the Dutch delegation. http://www.bmw02.nl/meeting/Vintage2010

  11. Guys we don't have that stuff over here, just normal wires. I don't know why you have, might it be because of emissions, or your low octane rate, we had 98 in those days. maybe things got hotter because of the different settings?
  12. Yes that me you're talking about Eric? this Eric PE1RLF????
  13. Yes they are different but the look the same. on the us turn signals it says also usa, the only major diffrence is the parking light.
