  1. Jim, I think our 2016 Bimmers have 3 throttle map tables to pick from. The most aggressive is 1:2 (40% throttle = 80% torque). Then there’s 2 engine mappings in addition. My DME tuning software lets me have a linear throttle override in any mode. Let me know how that 1:10 map works out! lol Inspiration for ya. It looks fun… nice set of inputs & outputs.
  2. Odd bracket — never seen one for an intake-side mount before. I’ve only ever seen 02 compressors mounted below the exhaust.
  3. Vero, you’re jack appears to have an identical standing leg as the 2002 jack posted by SoM, but the jaw is different — mainly in the shape of the pointy end, but also in length, and height at the leg. What it’s from I dunno.. But it should still fit the same as Mark’s photos, with the leg resting in that outside slot, since your jack leg appears to be the same. ??
  4. It might have something to do with switching between 15” and 19” ( that’s not a typo) diameter rear wheels… !! Thats a 15” BBS Motorsport center with 2” slant lips. ( I heart slants…). Spec says 15” fronts with 10-12” and 19” rears with 13” wide rubbers. I dunno if Goodwood would let it run without the air cleaner..
  5. Back in the day… (Driver: Peter Hennige)
  6. Alas, me too… Shoulda looked like this tho’
  7. My dream 2002 is for sale... It's a 1977 model. Funny colors too... 😍 https://www.dhrofgo.com/sold/1977-bmw-2002-turbo-group-5-ex-schnitzer-drm-car/

  9. Wing nut is same thread (M8) as a lug nut… the ‘claw’ is NLA ( try a WTB post), though I’ve seen some fabbed from wood. Once you get it all fastened down, plan to leave it there and get a proper scissor jack to actually use. The OE jack is frankly dangerous..

  11. Cool. Thanks! I haven’t had the opportunity to see real-early 02 glass bugs before. So the side glass is from a different manufacturer — being an early pre-DOT version of Duro-Glas, licensed from St. Gobain Sekurit. Without the DOT #I can’t determine the location/name of the manufacturer. Perhaps that can be obtained from the German certification #85.. but I’d wager it’s VEGLA who BMW used on the later cars side glass. AS-2 is the expected code for Tempered side glass. No BMW Roundel in the side glass bug either. That must have come along later, perhaps with the DOT introduction.
  12. Cool, thanks for posting. That’s obviously earlier than John’s windshield above, since it has no DOT identification number in the bug. Plus the West Germany notation… Again SIGLA brand/manufacturer - very common in all German cars of this vintage. AS-1 meaning laminated windshield glass. The Mfgr code M90, ending in 0 indicates Clear ( no tint). The zig-zag with the D are the German certification with 108 being the registered ID. Again the lack of a BMW Roundel in the windshield bug… I wonder why front and rear glass don’t seem to have it. Is your side glass also SIGLA? I believe different suppliers for front/rear vs side glass was pretty common later on. Mind sharing a pic of one of your side glass bugs? Tom
  13. Longer stacks will aid midrange, but if you put the bellmouth too close to a ‘wall’ it hurts the bellmouth performance. You ideally want 1 stack diameter of free space in front of the bellmouth…
  14. Now If it’s wireless, you really gotta let me put your pedal in MY car, while you drive ahead of me in yours! 😇 Remote controlled Jim!
  15. They don’t need a gasket, but if you’ve got 40 DCOEs with bolt-on style trumpets you should get a set of these to prevent your Aux Venturii rattling around… https://www.dellorto.co.uk/shop/car-accessories/car-air-filters-trumpets/bolt-on-trumpets/99903-922-weber-dcoe-trumpet-sleeve/
  16. FWIW, that’s really not a correct bellmouth shape and the foam ‘filtration’ looks too thin… Plus most 40s are slot-in, do they come with the needed inserts? Pretty enough tho’..
  17. Well it’s early ( W. Germany) and green.. 😁 SIGLA is another famous period glass brand, manufactured by FLACHGLAS AUTOMOTIVE GmbH in Witten. ( DOT 25). I suspect the INFRA has to do with their tinted glass branding. AS-1 = windshield spec glass. M91 = their green tint variant. I suspect the FG (and the earlier TF on the side glass) indicate their laminate vs tempered formulations. The wavy lines, D and number are German auto glass certification related. The number specifies the registration for that glass. (611 for windshield and 291 for side glass.) The last sequence might contain the manufacturer info for glass thickness and production date ( 3.3mm thick, July 1990)? Could that date be valid? I’d expect glass from that date would have E-codes in the bug. I’ve seen VSP before but can’t remember the meaning offhand.. Tom edit — duh, I see you said it hasn’t been replaced since at least 1986… I haven’t seen an original bmw-logo-included bug for the windshield. Your glass might be OE manufacturer - other 02s ( incl Euros) have cited SIGLA glass…
  18. Nice Steelies.. HEIC format photos aren’t recognized on FAQ. If you switch your iPhone Photo settings to Automatic, it’ll know to auto-convert photo uploads to FAQ to JPEGs so all can see them. Tom
  19. A trained eye might - it’s only 5mm wider each side You’ll likely notice the slightly increased width and height difference from the drivers seat if you’re tuned into your ‘before’… but it’s not radical.
  20. 185/70-13s? Stock wheels & suspension? Many do. There’s no dumb Qs
  21. Nothing protrudes thru the vinyl except the knob (with it’s cap & screw)..
  22. Thx John. So your side glass is the exact same as my 76er. It’s Duro-Glas brand, licensed from Saint-Gobain Sekurit, manufactured for BMW byVereinigte Glaswerke (VEGLA) of Porz, Federal Republic of Germany (DOT28). Their M101 mfg type code, ending in 1 indicates green tint. AS2 indicates this glass is tempered and has at least 70% light transmission but it doesn't pass all the impact tests like AS1, which is required for laminated glass windshields. If your windshield is also original I’d like to see that bug, to see if it had the BMW logo (the rears all didn’t AFAICT), and if the mfgr was also VEGLA… Tom
