  1. (76 2002)... Since the late 2002 engines w/E21 2.0 heads /w/ flat top pistons use single row timing chains can one simply transfer the timing gear to an E12 head and use that? I`m used to the double row chains on earlier cars. Would there be any performance differences if any between E21/2.0 and E12? Thanks!
  2. Maybe a price typo?? Whew 1,695 Euro or the I don`t want to sell it price. Nice rarity accessory for the the one that has the Euro flat lenses tho.
  3. If the rear suspension cross member has ever been down and or rear subframe bushings been replaced you might want to tighten the two end knurled bolt/nuts to 90+10 ft/lbs and the tie bar bolts to the floor 35 ft/lb. I heard some of those noises tightened them and they were loose since I forgot to torque them when restoring car. Noises are gone the cars wheels were loaded on the ground while being torqued. And yeah check that dodgy exhaust, oh the center bearing or the U joints on driveshaft.
  4. You may also want to inspect tires for type/brand, age over 5 years etc, flat spotting, and ply separation/s. Dial indicator on wheels, Wheel nut torqus apx 65 ft/lb also check for sticking caliper pistons, rotor runout and rear drum runout. Internal brake hoses swelling.
  5. Not sure if you are actually mounting those moldings the way you have them shown in your picture but the lower horizontal molding is supposed to overlap the vertical b pillar molding at the base area.
  6. This is correct design for 74/76 2002 . The upper trim molding for the inner door trim panel are still available and have to be purchased separately left and right handed. like the trim panels.

  9. Good luck with those helicopter sized mosquitoes!
  10. 1. Adjust sunroof/readjust/replace the rear felt sunroof seal. 2. Replace rear trunk hinges with the old ones adjust trunk. New ones are a lil off. 3. install L/R top door moldings/adjust door glass. 4. Install hood moldings. 5. Connect rude ass horns and refasten to car. 6. Fettle headlight housings while reattaching front grilles. 7. R/R rear B pillar and horizontal moldings and reposition. 8. Reconnect high beam flood switch wire. 9. Prepare idle up solenoid for A/C operation. 10. prep/wire for dash aux gages. 11. Finish final torques on front suspension that were missed. 12. Install hub caps. 13. Polish chrome. 14. Detail paint. 15. Use indoor car cover.
  11. Pull or twist off the vacuum hose off booster you should see the inside of the booster from there. and the hole where the booster mounts if you remove it should you see actual fluid inside the booster with a bright light take a long turkey baster or oil recovery vacuum unit and suck/vacuum the fluid out as much as possible. Then allow to air dry after lightly spraying chamber with brake cleaner spray. You want no fluid in that air chamber/booster. If after bright flashlight inspection inside chamber is dry (no fluid) disregard the fluid removal steps. You can find bulk by the foot brake hose @ Belmetric.com. 7X13.5 Blue Braided - European OEM Hose RH7MBN - BelMetric BELMETRIC.COM Bel-Metric sells metric hardware & specialty automotive supplies nationwide. 12. Perhaps cut a radius for the ends might prevent bunching? I performed the chromed metal spears and hockey stick style bolted to the door panel, but you`re on the right track if costs are concerned nice going!
  13. Vacuum pump out the fluid inside the booster if fluid is inside it and spray some drying agent like brake cleaner inside booster before sealing up. The O ring part number is 34314650345 but is usually supplied with new master cylinders from ATE if you go there comes with elbow grommets as well but the elbows 34321102282 are not included these days but you should be able to source O ring separately. You may want to wash down your frame rail and floor as brake fluid seeps everywhere and attracts moisture making rust form inside the frame rail and floor areas. Get some new brake fluid feed hoses 21521163714 7.5x13 and don`t use hose clamps on the elbows as they are gravity fed. Perhaps plan a more comprehensive inspection on the rest of the hydraulics if not already the clutch slave and master cylinders. Bleed entire system after all is addressed.
  14. I put one of these Item#6 sponge buffers in the joint to put a bit of preload on that joint/dowel pin setup. Its a bit of a pain to preload but it stays tight. RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog WWW.REALOEM.COM BMW parts 1502-2002tii 2002 Shift lever

  16. Perhaps he needs a lil more time to concentrate on final clearancing. Glad to hear you made contact!
  17. Late 2002`s had 215 MM flywheel/clutch kits and appears to be Typo on descriptors @ FCP ..".3.0" cars had commonly 240 MM flywheels.
  18. If using newer fenders etc... Perhaps during nose panel repair...Mock up the front grilles to the grille openings so fine bodywork matches them, and turn signal assys to fender body work to assure there is no gap is at the bottom of the t/s assy. Install assemblies and fine tune the body work drilled screw holes.
  19. The spacers are not originally installed and could be for increasing track width and/or wheel/tire fender clearance/appearance other purposes are for various compensation for non stock wheel offset if not running stock wheels. Clean/Inspect the bearings and definitely replace wheel seals as it is best practice. You don`t want grease slinging toward brake pad contact surfaces. Try to make sure you have spare seals and cotter pins for regular maintenance if you plan on driving the car. Wheel seal dimensions are 45X62X7 mm BMW part number 31212634108
  20. To add to previous comments...I once had an oil pressure sensor leak out while I was driving oozing onto my hot exhaust downpipe it got really smoky those are infrequently prone to different degrees of leakage. I keep a spare at all times for quick change.
  21. On my NOS sets of regular full wheel hub caps I did notice that the "M" lines up approximately with the valve stem holes on all the caps. Stem hole directly over the top of the "M". Here are some old ones from an old Hemmings ad.
  22. The unit may be in need of an internal inspection before anything goes very wrong unless already done. Synchro sets are still sorta available and some needle bearings and other bearings could be somewhat difficult to find.
  23. Happy Birthday 1674823! What a gem!!
