  1. Perhaps closely inspect driveline? Rear diff cross member bushings. rear cross member mounts and rear floor tie bars, center driveshaft bearing/mounting and exhaust to shifter mountings/bushings for torques, fractures, tension free install and or misalignments?
  2. A pressure test of the cap and cooling system could get you closer to causes. A bad radiator cap releasing pressure too low lowers the boiling point of the coolant apx 3 degrees per pound of cap pressure rating. A good 50/50 mix of silicate free coolant and distilled water should be the baseline mix. A friend of mine had a radiator hose that kept blowing off without any other leaks. I gave him a known tested cap and it took care of the problem. Good luck. BMW 2002 cap rating is 1 Bar or 14.5 PSI
  3. Maybe reverse the castle nut screw it on the the stub a few threads and get a 5lb sledge and rap on it a few times.
  4. I remember back then that Tii nose panels were NLA for a considerable amount of time. So if there was an unfortunate incident a carburated nose was sourced. At least the car was fixed but those that owned Tii`s back then either did not notice the snorkel nor care as long as the the nose was fixed. However if they did notice before paint, that repair could have been fabbed in to correct it.
  5. On oil related funk.... The oil pressure sender can leak, or special washer gasket on dist housing weeping from not sealing (near distributor) can leak onto exhaust manifold if everything else is correctly mounted.
  6. Yeah I have more control with the manual choke, but always be mindful to turn it off not long after starting....

  8. Nice ride there! If you plan on keeping her outside you may want to inspect/replace your sunroof seals or cover the sunroof if not already fixed. Do a full service on the car, inspect shifting linkages/brakes and sheet metal on the right/left front floor pans, rocker panels front to rear, frame rails and trunk floor for rust also the nose panel/fenders around the turn signals and lower front valance areas. If you have questions look up search terms to find out certain specifics already covered here, or Google. Good luck !
  9. Making sure all the shifter/platform bits are in good order, inspect that guibo /flex disc is serviceable. and new lock nuts for reattaching it. As tech 71 says fork pivot pin as well.
  10. I had a Bluetooth adapter that interfered with my Blaupunkt Frankfurt tuner then changed for a modern 80`s retro Blaupunkt sqr 46 Bremen used in Porsches. Vintage Blau can change the radio with new internals to improve it, I may go down that road in the future as I do prefer the look of the earlier radio...
  11. Old antennas can actually (wear out) perhaps check connection on radio chassis, and or try another antenna...perhaps.
  12. I seem to remember removing originals from an old Tii...they looked like around 10 MM thick squished so make em 12 mm. The new BMW ones were almost double the thickness, Get a tubing cutter and slice em.
  13. Nr 11 belongs to 1974 and up cars....unless yours is non original..
  14. Here is a source good luck! https://www.autozone.com/batteries-starting-and-charging/alternator/p/bosch-alternator-al89x/1094676_0_0
  15. The consoles on later cars were longer and extended very near the handbrake handle button..There is a shifter surround that has a square raised flange, the square rubber or leather/vinyl shift boot fastens to which is screwed to the sides of the legs of the longer console to lock the surround in place.
  16. The 235/5 driveshaft is supposed to have an 18 MM dodecagon still available collar nut part number 26111101782.

  18. Wondering if there are any M2/S14 engine and suspension setup guides for 2002`s out there that were published and their ISBN number/s or were there other forms of publications/plans? Thanks.
  19. Perhaps loosen the internal lower door window and vent window rails at the base of the door and try to rock the entire door glass and vent window assembly slightly outward. Tighten base fasteners when satisfied with fitment.
  20. I went zimt nappa leather.... But look for either a cinnamon or bronze colors if dying.. I went for cinnamon Zimt in German. I empathize with those that went through what I had to.
  21. I`m sure there are other body lines unless already done to attend to in the meantime....
  22. One other thing.... Dont buy cheap knockoffs...Insist on only original redline Weber if it is way too cheap for a new one....it is not the genuine Weber. http://old.lcengineering.com/Genuine Weber.pdf
